- In her first ever fly tying step by step vlog IB ties her favourite grayling fly, the Flash Hare's Ear. A deadly nymph fished euro style, or underneath a suspension indicator, the flash hare's ear works in both coloured and clear water, and is a total grayling slayer! IB shows us what materials you need and how to tie a top, top pattern.

Huge Huge thanks to - Hooksounds.com
More please I enjoyed that my hands are shaking, much love xxxx
Great video. Really like the format it's nice to hear the instructions and then see them carried out, it's more like a fly tying lesson than the standard fly tying videos. It helps that Andy is a natural born teacher
Really kind Liam, thank you! I think IB would have rather I'd kept my gob shut though 🙈😂
You chaps should consider visiting the British Fly fair,Stafford,if we are having one in February.
We go to BFFI quite regularly
That's really good. An excellent format for fly tying that I haven't seen anywhere else. I could follow along very well. The instructions followed by the execution was so helpful. More please!
Thanks!
I’d love to see more of this! Foam dun and other dries as well
We'll work on this Chris, thank you!
I didn't realize how much tying you do. Thanks for more.
Thanks Kento! We'll try to do more!
Great time of year to fill a fly box so keep the tying videos coming. Let's all have a fishy 2021!
I'm hoping to do more of these! Thanks for watching John x
@@IBandAndyFishing Could you tie one of your red tag flies? It seems to be very effective for you in the UK and I'm wondering how it'll work for me in Colorado and Montana. Thanks.
Hi that fly would catch fish in many a river well done IB all the best and tight lines to yo both for new year
Happy new year David!

Nice job IB.
Great fly
Thanks Nick!
Happy New Year guys. Now we have a fly tying by IB, perhaps 'Rod Building with Andy' next?
Andy can't construct a sentence let alone a rod 🙈😂
I could tell Andy was dying to pinch that long strand of dubbing off!
I couldn't help myself!
Nicely done 😊
Very well done 👏
nicely done IB have already tried my self is not so perfect as yours be it will the job.
Now in Belguim we don't have a lot of nice rivers for the grayling, but i will try.
Greetings Herwig.
Really good video very interesting

Great video guys very informative more of the same please. Luv watching IB trimming her fluff 👍
What great coaching, Andy!
More like a very good student!
Funny you chose the Flash HE, I used one yesterday for a short session on the Dane and caught all my fish on it. An excellent fly!! 🎣😊
Such a great fly isn't it!
Hey IB well done on this Nymph.
Good one Andy very patient awesome finished product.
And using the whip finish tool is a very different arena for someone who has not used it much, thumbs up IB and keep tying.
Craig 👏
That was so cool..thanks guys
Great fly I.B that is sure to be a killer👍🦟. I might have a try at this one will make a change from tying on 4/0 and 6/0 predator hooks 🤣🎣
I think one of these would go nicely on a 6/0! 🙈😂
Definitely do some more, absolutely brilliant 😎👍❤️
Thank you!
Well tyed IB!!.
Well done and keep em coming!!
Such a good video, I lost my tying mojo and this has inspired me to get tying for the 2021 season. Happy new year guys
Thanks Zach! Very back at it, just in time for the trout season! Happy New year!
Happy New Year IB and Andy
Happy new year nick!
Hey guys Happy New Year from NZ
Happy new year Craig!
First time tier! Just ordered all my tying stuff, tools etc, never tied a fly in my life but I’ll make sure to give this one a bash 👍 have a good looking box o nymphs for the grayling
Good work buddy, let us know how they go!
Just gathered up a collection of fly tying materials.
Ready to start tying after 20 year's .
This video will be of great use keep up the good work.
Happy New year 🎉
Nicely presented - easy to follow instructions - I have just been tying some red and pink tags this afternoon in black and olive green for Euro nymphs - will give this a go for hares ear - A very nice looking pattern with an added bit of flash - Re I.B.'s question on the lureflash being single or double sided - I have some double sided Halo lureflash I use for Diawl Bach's / Cormorants - red on one side and green on the other - I can't remember where I got it from though - Boxes will soon be replenished - We just need the river levels to drop now - Tight Lines Both - Steve.
A new hares ear for the new pink rod I need to see a vid of you catching on the rod also using they RAPALAS 😂Happy New year andy and ieva
Oiii..... no rapala talk here
Really enjoyed that and you made it look easy. I keep meaning to start fly tying, but seams to be loads of materials that you need. I’ve been looking to see if anyone dose a fly tying pack, hooks, beads and materials etc to tie one type of fly. Might be an idea for you in the future to put something like that together in a pack, and do a tie along video for it. Just an idea. Keep up the good work👍🏼🎣
It is something we thought about Andy, but it'd mean managing so many trade accounts that it would be very tough.
I think if you asked most shops though they'd be able to provide just the materials for one fly/pattern.
What would you like to tie?
@@IBandAndyFishing I’ve not really thought of what flies to tie first. But I bet it’s really satisfying to catch a fish on a dry fly that you have tied
I would advise that you decide which flies you want to tie and buy those materials. You'll find kits have a lot of stuff you won't use and some really rubbish materials.
I've watched this video and tried to tie the fly, definitely need to practice a lot!! I been looking on youtube at videos for putting the dubbing on the thread, whip finish tool etc. I've not found any that i can get on with. I'm sure that you two could do a much better video then them, Just an idea. Keep the good videos coming
That looked easy id love to learn haw
Great video!! Any suggestions on different materials for the collar. I live in the states and can find the fasna anywhere thanks
Got excited hearing about this in the stream, cheers :)
Do let us know if it's something you'd like to see more of!
@@IBandAndyFishing it is!
do you think it would be any good for Pike on a #6/0 :) Good job IB and you have the same vice as me .
Hahaha I think you should try and do it!
Can you recommend a decent starter outfit for small trout and odd grayling for the upper wensum. It's only a, small river. Cheers.
Im trying to tie my own flys and it’s hard 😂😃
Slow and steady Ivan, it'll come! What have you been trying to tie?
A damsel
I love your videos and its good to wach because i am learning
Be patient , practice , practice , practice , stick to the same patterns before you move on , it will come , it’s not easy , some make it look easy but they have years of experience , if you can , get instruction from someone sitting beside you sharing their knowledge , remember to practice and move on , it’s what we all do .
Nice tie, i've a question for ye and I hope you don't mind me asking...what does IB stand for....
My name! ieva Breiteryte 🤣
@@IBandAndyFishing thank you for your reply I understand now....anyway I love yer vids, can't wait for the new fishing season.
Try tie a fly-rapala (flypala)
Davie McPhail watch out
I don't imagine he's too worried! 🙈😂
A damsel
Lots of different ways of tying those, I've not done one in years! Davie's is excellent:
