I jest bought my first drum kit in about 18 years. I had to quit playing because of health issues that were so bad I thought I was gonna die so I sold everything. But I made it through and I bought a nice little pearl roadshow. Feels great to be playing again.

You will really like the DW Performance kit. I have owned a ton of kits (Pork Pie Custom, SJC, DW Collectors, Pearl Masters, Tama Starclassic, Custom Keller Kit, Premier, etc) and the DW Performance can hang with any of them. I actually prefer the Performance kit to my DW Collectors that I had. I prefer straight shells with no reinforcement rings and the smaller lugs look better imo. I have 18x22, 8x10, 8x12, 12x14, 14x16, and 6.5x14 snare in Pewter Sparkle. I changed out the top and bottom heads shortly after I got them and it made a huge difference. The build quality is fantastic and it’s made out of the exact same wood that goes into the collectors kits. I was able to do a 8x12 rack as the store that I worked at when I ordered my kit ordered a jazz kit in the same finish that came w/ an 8x12 so I was able to swap out the 9x12 for it. You will love the kit, congratulations!

I had my first drum set for like my first 13 years (it was used at the time and like 10 years old, it was beaten to crap) then I finally bought a DW set. It is awesome. Sometime down the line I want to get a custom set

Sweet drums set up man!! I got the same kit! I just picked up a DW Performance 4 piece shell kit a couple months ago. Mine came with the snare and got them in the tobacco satin color. I really like the color of yours. I got back into drumming after like 10yrs off. Thanks to your videos they have really inspired me and helped me learn to get better!! Keep up the great vidz!!!

Even though I don’t like using a 4 piece kit, it still looks absolutely stunning.
I recently bought a double bass( 2 - 18X22) pearl export kit with 4 rack toms( 2- 8X12 and 2- 9x13 and 2 floor toms ( 2- 16x16). I love the set and have it set up in my music room. I also have a Alesis DM10 MKII Pro Set and use that when playing during the evenings or early mornings so I do not piss off the neighbors:) I just bought a side snare from Sweetwater and is the slam can 6X10 from the drum company SJC Drums. I ended up buying another side snare ( 6x10) today on Amazon made by Griffin and I only paid $40 for the drum!
Question: I was trying to buy some power toms, but they are pretty much non-existent these days. Back in the 80s and early 90s rock drummers had the big 13 x12 rack toms...etc.! Since I have 2 each of the larger toms( 2- 8x12s and 2- 9x13s) that Pearl makes does it matter and can I just tune each drum or do I need to buy 4 different sizes for my kit?
I was checking out some of Alex Van Halen's drums kits today online and WOW...holy sh*t! Some of his drums sets had to have been over $100,000 easily!!! I saw his signature snare from the 2017 NAMM show in Anaheim and was listed for $5,000!

Hell ya! Congrats dude!! I am an absolute fan of DW. I bought my own DW set after playing a shitter Peace kit for about 6yrs, and it has completely changed my world. I even got a tattoo of it haha. So I know how ur feeling man!! Keep killin it. Oh, and btw, that snare is sooooo fucking gorgeous !! 😍🤘
I’ve had my collectors kit since 2003, and I still just sit and stare at it for a good 15 minutes when I’m done practicing on it. I toured full time with it for about 12 years and it’s still just as beautiful as ever.

About a year ago I bought a gretsch Catalina maple 7 piece in walnut glaze, and it is beautiful, I understand that natural wood grain ♥️ beautiful kit man

Love the KickPort myself too :) one thing about it: you should use less dampening (smaller or no pillows) and than you get the great bass drum sound- but I guess you have figued it out by now :)

Great video ! DWs sounds excellent even when they're not tuned properly. I own 2 Collectors in natural wood color in satin oil finish and they are absolutely perfect. Congrats on your achievements. All the best.

I went from drums to bass cuz I hated having to do so much labor jus to make music. But my bass cab was a beast so I just broke my back and still had to help the drummer carry his junk.
Congratulations Wyatt!! You are such a badass drummer!! You inspire me to never give up drumming!! DW are by far the greatest drums ever, just my opinion. I’ve been playing drums for over 10 years and hope to purchase a DW kit one day!! The whole kit is amazing!! Not to mention how beautiful that snare is!! Cant wait to see shred on it!!😈🤘

Gratz on a new kit! I have to finish out my storage building into a rehearsal studio and I'm nowhere even close to getting started. I have an older Ludwig Bonham setup and it takes up a fair amount of room.
Please don't take this as negative because of preferences being what they are of course but with all of the lovely finishes that DW offers and you got a clear, wood finish..... As long as you're happy brother, that's what counts! They are very pretty.

I loved the Kick Port on a DW 20" Bass drum I used to play. They are nice for adding some low end and punch. It actually works well, not just a gimmick. I don't need one on my 26" but have thought about installing it to see what it does on that monster.
I always put an “X” with two layers of masking tape across the whole snare. Takes the St Anger out of the snare ring out lol

Dude!... I ordered this exact same kit back in March (but with a 14" deep kick)! I ended having to cancel it because they were out of stock and I got tired of waiting. Canceled that order and got the pewter sparkle performance series instead. You're going to love them!
