Hi Wyatt, I have been trying to learn Stranded by Gojira but have a little trouble finding tabs or guides on how to play the fills. I also struggle a little bit with understanding the timing change up at parts of the song. Any chance you could do a drum cover of Stranded and maybe a what the fill video or a how to play video? I really love Mario style. Thanks!

Call it the the "staver" a suggestion would be showing the whole pattern on screen with r,l,k notation. This makes it quicker for me to digest without thinking of placement. After nailing the pattern, orchestration becomes the only thing left to learn. Making it a lot quicker to learn. That bring said- great job man. And great fill! Aaaand I should have read your post before writing this, lol.

I know you show the feet/kick drum cam down the bottom but it could be helpful to people to explain the double kicking pattern that u do. As when its slowed down with the sticking and shapes it just comes up as "kick" but because its so slow you would be lead to believe its just single right foot action when in reality the notes could be one after the other at a high bpm and not be possible to do. Hope that makes sense. Couldn't try any of these out as dont have the ability to play my kit atm but still watching as always. Other then that Good job! Love your content!

I actually didn't say "left" or "right" for the feet because I didn't want people without a double pedal to get the impression you need one to learn these fills.. because you don't really, a simple heal toe double stroke on the right foot is probs fast enough to handle the doubles! I will talk about this next week for sure ! thanks again!!!!

Hey so I can play drums really good but I cant play drums when someone is listening even if its a sibling or a close friend i just cant play drums when somebody is listening. I become anxious and i fear to make a mistake and mess up. Can you like give me some tipps? Thanks

I’m OKAY at fill making but this will definitely help me get in a “drummers mentality” on writing fills more!

I got lost in it myself!! I think adding a transcription along with it might clear things up? we will see.. I also think I should actually play the sticks and talk about it as I go instead of just slowing down the clip.

In the following videos maybe you don't have to repeat so often what you will play next. Instead maybe a short text on the screen would save you a lot of talking and shorten the video a bit.

Ya that's a great suggestion! ... I agree for sure.. I don't like words on the screen as much because I feel like it isn't as personal. Maybe I talk between playing the fill in the same angle? Deffs something to think over!
i think it would be better to play the fill slow in the real time instead of doing slowmotion - it would be more clear imo

I think that breaking it down in a "first half and second half" method makes the learning process very difficult.
OH NO! I am sorry.. I used to watch a gospel channel years ago that taught gospel fills and he broke down all his fills into 2 or 3 sections.. so that's where I got the idea from, I apologize this didn't work for you.. I will be sure to play the entire fill through at a slow tempo in next weeks episode!

Well, I got the full by just repeating the standard tempo full fill back and forth a few times. That first fill was awesome. So much fun.
