The type that kings quest 4 was also with the text parser, but it was such a dope game too bad it missed out on the PQ3/KQ5 treatment. i remember when i first had to shoot at Bains in the park once upon a time in the 90s when life wasnt this nonsense it has become today.
Apparently you get the Silver Star at the end even if you fire first. Were they channeling their inner Hans Solo anti-heroism by allowing this vs. the supposed ending of Sonny losing his job that there's no upload of on this site (that we know of)?
I guess the public opinion isn't the same as it used to be for cops. They were very enjoyable though. I can recommend 'This is the Police' and 'Beat Cop' which are two games I need to longplay.

I've never enjoyed playing adventure games but have great appreciation for their existence, if that makes sense.

Yep. Both games came from Sierra so you'd see a lot of cross-over references between them.
In joke. They did that in many of the Sierra games. For example, in the first PQ, there was a reference to the dragon invading Daventry in KQ3.
