Great tips that. The hip protruding backwards for the rib cage compensation is probably the most important reason. Without mastering the pendulum a heavy mace won’t come up, so naturally the body will figure that out eventually. But this hip thing the body wouldn’t even know what wrong it is doing. Good point out that. Thanks.🙏🙏
I took a long break from my mace, but starting back up I'm trying to really focus on form more than I previously did, and this is definitely a big flag for me when I try a 360 and feel it graze my back. But I'm only having it happen with a 2 handed 360, not 1 handed. Thank you for posting this, it's really making me think I am gripping far too hard for the pendulum portion of the swing.

just started with my mace. got a 10 lbs. gotta tell you, it feels weird. Im comng back to mace videos everytime I'm not sure I got everything right. maybe, ill get use to it. i'm sure i'll get better at it. but god, the 360 and 10 and 2 are unnatural. and it's just drop it over one shoulder, let it swing behind the back and pull it back over the other one. why is this hard?
Do not drop it over your shoulder - push it around your shoulder. This enforces the pendulum phase. I have another video here explaining it: m.ruclips.net/video/JqPT7pDwRSg/видео.html&pp=ygURY29hY2ggdmF1Z2huIG1hY2U%3D
It likely means you’re pushing the mace over the shoulders and not around them. Makes a vast difference in how the pendulum is executed. I have a video here breaking down all phases: m.ruclips.net/video/JqPT7pDwRSg/видео.html
@@CoachVikingVaughn Many thanks. However let me attempt to clarify. It is hitting the other shoulder as I return to the start point. So I push it, it swings down fine and then I frequently hit the other shoulder. This seems worse with ten to twos and heavier weight. I have seen some videos of people who twist their body significantly, side to side, and I wonder if this is necessary. Anyway, thanks again.

I have an issue sometime with a long mace hitting the back of my calf. Mostly happens when I'm not focusing.
Wery useful 👌, thanks for video !!!

You deserve more likes... here, take one from me.
On a heavier mace I am hitting my upperback/shoulde. Is it just weakness?
