Gracias por tu video, Señor Cabview. I'm a little tired (5:09 a.m.) and having a problem here myself.
EVERY NIGHT ROBERTIN 😎👽 WAKES UP BETWEEN 3 TO 3:30 A.M.😴-->😮!!!
I have narrowed the cause to one of these. Which do you think it is?
1. The Shadow People are playing a noisy card game in El RobPalacio at La RobMesa.
2. Recurring nightmare. Forced to eat a liver and onion taco without salsa to kill the taste.
3. A disturbance in The Force.
4. Too much to drink before nighty-night.
5. I left my body for Rio de Janeiro and think it is 6 to 6:30 a.m.
*Thank you. Your reply will remain strictly confidential.
I'm gonna watch this from bed. Have a great day! RT sends, Colonia Centro Histórico, Puebla, México...
Option 6: your system needs another Cabview Holland movie.
Oh my god, the transition at 1:58 👌 You are really getting this small edits on point! It looked so smooth! Nice job!
exactly this. the smoothest transition to date
It helps that I used to be an acrobat ;-)
@@CabviewHolland I for sure do believe you 😂
I think a lot of the magic of having spotter vids included is watching both perspectives at the same time, and seeing how they synchronize around common events. That is, I think you should always have both playing at the same time. That said, I think there's a lot to be said for full-screening the abnormal perspective: I think the best of both worlds is to fullscreen the spotter footage, while retaining your cabview as the inset. Full resolution on the abnormal, yet retaining the ability to internally synchronize multiple perspectives of one event.
On the other hand, the replay format allowed you to play both audio tracks, and comparing the audio lets us notice the doppler shift between the two perspectives, which is really cool in its own right.
Many possibilities.. I might vary them. Thanks for thinking with me :-)
Certainly an interesting ride to say the least, and without the electropneumatic brakes the train seemed to take a little longer to respond to your brake inputs. At the beginning I also noticed that the coupling looked normal minus the electrical connections having not been made. Excellent video sir as always!
Thanks!
Echt geweldig, wat een actie !
Bedankt weer voor deze prachtige video!
So very nice.
Bedankt voor deze mooie rit meester
Hele mooie video😀😀
Superb shots ! 👍

Of juist andersom?
Very interesting video, I think the external shots of your train were really interesting, the times I've watched 3 to 4 hour runs and have no idea what the train looks like from outside, I'm looking at you SNCF
Thanks Peter!
I dont understand all the bells & white flashing lights but a very enjoyable & soothing trip, very enjoyable. cheers from australia.
the bells usually signal when it's pulling in to your stop so you can board or transfer to a different one
Electrical couplers isolated in the Scharfenberg coupler between the two :)
So that the working set doesn't command the disabled one to raise the pantograph, apply power and whatnot. As you stated that comes with issues that have to be accounted for like no dynamic braking on the disabled set, no EP brakes, no traction obviously, no Mg brake in an emergency, etc.
The Desiro we have in Belgium have a computer controlled direct pneumatic service brake which means if they're not coupled electrically, the units that are located after the isolated coupler have NO service brake. They'll only brake in an emergency (venting the brake pipe) so they're particularly tricky in those situations. We can't even command the release of the parking brakes so they have to be isolated manually too. Fun times ^^
:-)
37:48 that signal timing was *exactly* perfectly timed as if the signal wanted to psychologically torture you, the driver of a train with limited acceleration desperately hoping to avoid a complete stop
It won… :-)
nice video love travelling by train when we come to the Netherlands from the UK, wish our trains not only ran properly but were priced like in the Netherlands👍
Thanks Leslie!
Nice 👍
spotter footage a GREAT idea!!!
I like the full screen gives a better perspective 😁
Thanks Tony!
@@CabviewHolland your welcome
Hi Vincent, I had not seen you for a while, probably my fault. This was a great video. Noticed after you handed over at the end what a dirty train that was! But I suppose seeing you were towing a broken down one they would have all got a bath once the other one was delivered to the repair shop. Thanks again for the great views and some familiar territory either with you or Stefan.
:-)
a lot of interesting moments
Cabview Holland Dutch Railways.
Coupled mechanically only, no electrical connection, presumably to eliminate the risk of any software, electrical or electronic faults transferring from the broken down unit to the rescuing unit
Weer een hele mooie video meester !!
me gustan los videos que hacen
Thanks Emanuel!
Haha, wauw! Jij hebt scherpe oren :-)
Did you put wrong date for reason? Nice video tyvm.
Thanks. Date is correct, DD/MM/YYYY
Leuke video Meester Vincent.

Hi Vincent, I was posting to Stefan asking about upgrades to stations. Is Ensched on your routes? I thought there was work being done there? Are there any more new videos of that route if it is one of yours? Will dig around and see if I missed anything.
The King Kong loooooong tunnel you go through, is this under water since it’s that long or….?
See you go through Amersfoort - I have family there, a rather large part.
Yes, under water..
Great vid! Was the broken down train still providing traction or was it dead-weight?
Thanks! Dead weight.
@@CabviewHolland Shows how strong the traction motors are then. Acceleration didn't appear too affected!
@@mike112regio23 Altijd leuk! Kom jij dan weer helpen? :-)
@ 0:20 No electrical connection othervise interesting things could happen 🙂
with the trailing unit having failed, would it have been possible to drive the two sets, from the rear cab of the failed unit, or was it just a dead load, with braking only, thus making it difficult to reverse into a loop or siding....
Dead load… not electrically connected so not possible.

After the other driver took over which way was the train routed in order to reach Nijmegen?
Deventer - Arnhem
Haha, ik hoor het luchtalarm om 14:00
Goed gehoord!
Are there workshops in Nijmegen that can repair the defective unit? I know you've shown a few 'ecs' (empty stock) workings in the past, but this was something a little bit different. I was actually half expecting to find that it was a tow that had been requested by the ProRail Inceidentenbestrijders team.
There is a service station in Nijmegen. It might be a combination of other factors - such as train circulation - to have chosen for this location.
@@CabviewHolland Thanks, Vincent. I guess it just depends on the repair needed and the capability of Nijmegen to do the work.
Men neme gewoon een hulpkoppeling. 😉
@@bartrazin bedankt voor je uitgebreide antwoord! 😁
Dankjewel Ronnie!
The towing train has so much pantograph dust on its sides. Is that a relatively new phenomenon? I don’t remember seeing so much of it so often in a distant past, but then I haven’t paid all that much attention to our trains for many years. VIRM seems especially susceptible.
Ns Trains are getting more and more dirty, they don’t wash them as much anymore. I don’t know why.
@@CabviewHolland Hmm. I was thinking maybe a different paint or coating might have an influence, but lack of washing is another obvious possibility. I don’t think graffiti is more common, though. I take it those get priority treatment.
@@EllipticGeometry in most states, graffiti can get you in trouble with the Police
@@Belchmaster41 The illegality doesn’t prevent trains from getting sprayed from time to time.
Philosophical question: when a train consists of two or more coupled sets should the odometer readings be added together, averaged, the lowest used, or the highest used. Discussion?
{^_-}
And should you account for the earth’s rotation, and Buys Ballot's law?
😊wat was het defect aan die virm?😊
Volgens mij een probleem met de laagspanningsinstallatie.
Hi! I'm curious, what does it exacly mean, that you have the EP brakes cut out, but you still have you Pneumatic brakes? Are these two independet brake systems? I know, that Electropneumatic brakes mean, that you control the pneumatic cylinders using electric signals, then I guess you also have purely Pneumatic backups? I'm not sure. Thanks in advance!
Each car has its own pneumatic brake system. They can be activated electrically, which means each brake system will be activated at the same time. They also can be activated pneumatically, by lowering the pressure in the continuous pneumatic line, but that takes time. I cannot explain this clearly in English, I suggest you read this article: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Railway_air_brake
witch one is the most beautiful railway you ever went on?
ruclips.net/video/P90plpqNh3Q/видео.html
@@CabviewHolland nice :)
Could they not fix it in watergraffsmeer or zanstraats?
Haha
Fans :-)
You mentioned that you would have pneumatic brakes but I didn’t notice any connection to connect the air systems. I assume watching the video that the towed train set is not contributing any braking effort then?
It is connected. The air systems goes trough the link between the trains
Air lines connect through the coupling.
@@Forec020 interesting. I saw a diagram of the coupler on Wikipedia that didn’t seem to show that. I’ll have to look more closely. Thank you.
@@Infrared73 en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scharfenberg_coupler
@@Forec020 That is the Wikipedia article I read, and it says "...it also automates electrical and pneumatic connections and disconnections. However, there is no standard for the placement of these electro-pneumatic connections."
Since the connections were disabled, I wasn't certain where the pneumatic connections were made. Looking closer at some pictures of various VIRM I see two ports at the top and bottom. I assume that is where the pneumatic connection is made.
Sleepdienst Holland dus?

What do the bell rings mean? Also I have watched a few of the engineer videoes from the NL. What does the sound of the 'falling beans' mean? Treats for the engine master?
Bells are signals from the ATB safety system that guards speed and the closing of the doors. Where do you hear beans falling?
@@CabviewHolland Not sure if 'beans' but reminds me of the rosted ones fall in to the grinder. Take a listen to your video. I am fasinated to find out.
@@johnfox6432 Do you have a time stamp?
Maybe he is talking about the sound the air brake makes.
@@fritz46 That might be the case, that is air escaping through the brake lever.

By the way : can I ask you what model of camera and equipment you're using for those cab rides ? I might be interested in recording some in the future but don't want crappy, shaky quality or I'm not doing it at all.
