30 years later - nostalgia overload. To all kids playing video games now, I give you this advice: Just stay a kid as long as possible and enjoy life with your friends. This takes me back before I discovered alcohol and girls. Not to mention having to go to work, pay bills, own a car and a house. Trust me, this will be the best time of your life when you look back at it 30 years later. Just hearing the music makes me shed a tear. Good luck boys, don’t say I never told you so.
Seriously, some of the best music on Genesis imo, especially the first opening tune with it's kinda sad vibe. Although I think that might actually from SoR1, and that game may in fact have an even better soundtrack if I recall correctly. But this game is still the best beat 'em up on Genesis all round by far, with pretty much every single aspect of it being truly great. If only all games were made to this standard of quality and polish and were as much genuine fun--if only a few more beat 'em on SNES were this good!
This had some of the best in-play music I can remember for a Sega game. Very memorable tunes. PS- 30 years later and I'm still trying to figure out what Axel is saying when he uppercuts. 😂
The Streets of Rage Series always puts a big smile on my face. This is a timeless classic and it will remain an evergreen long after we are gone. I remember playing with my friend back in the day when the 2 of us were adolescents. Then I asked: Tell me, how many Garcias, Donovans, Signals and Fatsos did wie actually defeat? His response was: I stopped counting after 50 :P Good times..
OMG for the longest I thought this game was Street Fighter I was a little kid when I played this with my big bro on his Sega but the soundtrack brought back so much memories. Me and my brother would jam out every time we played
+RockRedGenesis - I invite you both to visit my channel. I've Enhanced these songs by rewriting them from the ground up using the exact same sound modules from the Genesis, but with enhanced instruments and higher fidelity.....plus I've Expanded on each song with entirely new sections to flesh them out and give them more depth. I'd love to hear your opinions.
oh what a wonderful world we grew up. and not having to play that gxx fortnite shit. that game is pure testosterone compared to todays SJW bs lol and I remember that satisfying sound of that steel bar hitting the enemies right in the face like it was yesterday haha

True....we were so innocent then with little worries about life..this was life itself then.
Alcohol and girls?
To each their own. I am enjoying my life with my beautiful wife and amazing 3 kids.
I have just turned sixty three, and I will never stop playing this game. I'm playing it as I type this.
it's crazy that you were in your 30s when you started playing this
I know right, SOR 2, is a game that I always go back to, And I always play as Max, love it when he gets his hands on a piece of scaffolding.
Honestly, yeah. My bestie and I will be 39 this year. And when we hang out, we sometimes play this game. It's got such fantastic replay value.
Max's rear grapple move does an unreal amount of damage. m
This was my favourite game back in the day. CANT believe it was almost 30 years ago now!
Really really enjoyed watching this play through. It brought back a lot of awesome childhood memories. Thank you so much for doing this!!!!
This is a blast from the past. I remember loving playing this in 1992 when I was about 14 or 15.lol.
Who also remembers “Double Dragon”?
I finally beat this game today. best Beat Em Up Game!!!!!!
Mane I swear dat was my favorite game on sega genesis. My favorite game system

Both this one and final fight are my favourite ones ever.
I just ordered a megadrive and this game to play on crt tv .been years since I played it how it was meant to be played.
@25:08 "I can move move move any mountain"!
Lol. Very similar indeed.
The game is full of Eurodance rip offs.
You didn't collect the hidden life at the beginning.
13:30 another hidden life lost, just behind the truck. ;)
(19:47) So *that's* why Contra: Hard Corps uses a border on the left side of the screen when Yokozuna lifts the locomotive.
Very nice Music.
SirAlexXXII some of the best music on the Genesis/Mega Drive, period!

SirAlexXXII Much appreciated. Hope you enjoy :)
Omg such good memories... ❤
The purple glowing villain in the beginning of the game intro looks like number 45.
🇺🇲😎🍔🍟
I love how I can tell from the most replayed segment that everyone is here for "How do I fight Russian Bear?"
Very well played. I was sure you would die against the 2 robots. Thumbs up for Axel!
Everytime I listen to "Bayside by Obskur", I think of this game.....
Doing it on hardest on Sega. That was awesome!
Classics never die!
This game was so good!!! Much better than streets of rage 3... And streets of rage 3 is worth more money. Ridiculous!!!!
SOR will always be the best beat em up game. And it seems that Fight n Rage has reached its height with SOR as well.
How did you throw the knife in the beginning?
same button as attack behind , im you from the future
Gotta put it into the hidden and extremely frenetic "mania" difficulty. Also you missed a ton of free stuff hidden in the foreground.
I could never get past Stage 6 on normal mode.
Weird, i dont remember "max" at all. In my memories the 4th player is some old guy cyborg.
Beautiful Electra

I love Electra and I hate Blaze.
Electra's pantyhose is very good!!
AXEL STONE is the best ❤️❤️❤️ GRAND UPPER!!!!
stage 6 has fast and the furious music lol
This came before fast and furious
This payer made it look so easy those players are so hard to fight and beat
6:10 ❤
It's funny how the soundtrack is so respected when its basically a rip off of 90s dance music. That first tune is Good Life by Inner City
excellent games
oh nostalgia
Sim mt
Grab the paw!!!!
To me it sounds like "wreck the park" 🤷♂️😂
"Where's my pa?" is what I hear tbh.
Who's ready to play this on their Mega Sg?
oh what a wonderful world we grew up. and not having to play that gxx fortnite shit. that game is pure testosterone compared to todays SJW bs lol
