You know what. I watched this video secretly in my children’s bedroom just to avoid my wife to hear the price. 😅
I bought my seat post direct from Darimo - it was an interesting experience. On enquiry about the post, they didn't reply, just sent me an invoice. I paid for the post (I want it), and then they responded to me - they were very nice and helpful. Did provide any timeframes for manufacture or shipping - but the item turned up about 2 months later. Then they sent me another email and said they had charged too much, and provided a small refund.
On the finish quality, I consider the 'imperfections' part of the hand made charm!
Great to hear some positive experiences as well! 👍
@@slayerofgrams that’s NOT a positive experience!
@@neilbuckley5796 Your experience does sound pretty positive. It could have been so much worse.
Frame builder ordered a Darimo IX2AL alloy stem from Darimo for me. It's a beautiful stem--not as lightweight as your components--and seemingly flawless. It did take a very long time for them to deliver the stem, almost 4 months. They were horrible about answering emails asking for updates on delivery time. I really hope they improve their communication with customers and lead times because their products are gorgeous.
I love this channel. I don't even ride carbon, (I'm an all-metal-bikes kind of person) but the vibes here are phenomenal.
Oh I love it 😻
The cosmetic imperfections can't be easy for a visual perfectionist to swallow. But damn, that's light.
Nice looking bars! It would be great in your review if you could compare the ride characteristics and in particular the stiffness with other bar/stem combos you have tried. It seems (just reading online) that these ultra-lightweight cockpits suffer from a lot of flex, so I'm wondering whether its the same story here. Thanks.
Agree and confirm, Darimo quality is something.. I had experience with THM, Schmolke, ax-lightness, Gelu etc, and all of them have much better overall quality than Darimo. I mean visual and technical quality, compliance with the promised weights, packing, customer service etc. Another level. So next time guys I'd recommend you to think twice. Always try to strive for the best.
Which bike is this handlebar for ? The titanium one ?
Sadly this is not compatible with my Tarmac SL6 Rim brake version 😢
Ordered mine in late December 2023, let’s see when it arrives…
5 months and counting, give or take. Wow.
Update, arrived today May-22 2024
@@Carlifurafollas let’s hope you don’t need a warranty return. Shocking level of service.
@@neilbuckley5796 Well, I’ve ordered it through a a shop whose owner is a friend of mine and personally knows Damiá (Darimo CEO) so it shouldn’t be a problem. Anyway, the product looks extremely well finished. I’ve seen a lot of issues with Darimo products in forums, but not this time for me!
I'm starting to read about the bad quality of their products coming out recently, given the crazy wait time and the amount of money they cost I think there are much better options out there.
Vision Metron 5D EVO L
Little over 300g but properly tested + nicely done + podium wins. Also in 3k semi-raw finish.
I would not play roulette with darimo known for their very bad customer service and QC.
Disfrutalo
But they clem with varnish clear coat on them (klarlack)? Saw pictures on weightweenies of people receiving horrible nexum bars and some been waiting 26 weeks. Insane
It’s really horrible and too much flexi. And they don’t bother to compensate nor replying email
Are there channels for the brake hose inside the handlebar? Or do you just have to guess?
You use a routing tool
Hey, I just found your (cool) channel. You mentioned you have a main channel?
This!
Lucky bas%$#, I remember finding RoJ back catalog and rejoicing for a week. Best bike gear channel in the world
very elegant unit, what bike are you putting this on?
it’s on my custom titanium bike 😅
@@slayerofgrams enjoy, and be safe.
would you do a video for exs aerover handlebar
Don’t think so sorry, it’s too heavy ;)
11 month, OMG
That’s so light for an integrated aero bar but maybe too much of a dent in my children’s inheritance.
I say teach you children to make their own money 😜
- Dad, why you have to go to work everyday?
- To buy nice bikes
- But my bike is shit…
- Lol, my ain’t.
Its really too much for such bad qc and customer service.
Do you happen to know the screw thread size for the bike computer mount on the bottom?
my bike shop provided the M5*18mm screws which they don't fit snug
standard M5 size. But I recommend using loctite/thread locker for them to not rattle loose
they need to hurry up and make a -12 version
It is compatible whith the Emonda?
You can almost use any kind of bar/stem with the emonda so I’d bet it’s compatible. For a neat fully hidden integration you probably need a custom spacer though.
4:18 is it me or does the the handlebar not look symmetrical?
For real😂
what's the reach on that bar?
It depends on a mood of person who make them I guess😂
Too many people expect THM Schmolke quality at Darimo price point 🤣
I asked Darimo about the price and was shocked 😮
Just some friendly advice then, don't ask for the price of Enve's integrated bar, you might get a heart attack 😁
@@slayerofgrams that’s Enve for you
@@slayerofgrams 🤣🤣🤣
Please be careful, steering is definitely an area where pushing the boundaries is questionable 😬
Yeah, would trust only my vision metron 5d which proved itself on countless grand tour races.
Heavy af at 400g but stiff and strong and more aero.
3x of the price of avian canary handlebars for just 20g saving? That's 500 euros for 20g or 25 euros per gram?!
Avian is also very noodly and wc is questionable. Vision Metron 5D EVO albeit not so lightweight (300g) but beats both in quality, finish, stiffness. Price is also between Nexum and Canary in the middle. Obvious choice as for me.
Would never buy anything from them. They simply banned me from their Instagram page by just dropping in a comment.
That's not how you deal with potential customers.
now you are going to the even darker side... aeroweanie
God no! Those people are bat shit crazy 😜
Interesting how it would look on non aero frame…
Stay away from Darimo, unless you are prepared to wait 2 weeks just for a reply to an email, and be prepared that the handlebar is 6 months delayed and arrives broken. Stuff like this is a killer to the hobby of cycling.
Ordering directly from Darimo is a nightmare of an experience. Would not recommend.
Yes, but from the other side, shops don’t have normal length stems/nexums, only midget 80-90mm ones in stock.
I just bought Metron 5D after reading all the stuff about darimo. Even 5D sometimes feels noodly when sprintin uphill in the drops, I can’t imagine riding nexum… would throw myself all over the road😂
That’s just a cop out comment about the quality. The quality control on their products is utter garbage. The money they cost, you should be getting properly finished parts, they can’t do that, then I’d be dubious on everything else, maybe revisit your dental insurance.
It's insane to pay so much money for something that will make no difference to your ride!! You are hallucinating and believe that you will achieve a crown to feed your Narcissism !!
When did he say that he "believes he will achieve a crown..."? Maybe he just bought them because it's a hobby and it makes him happy. Either way leave him be and don't assume you know what other people think or what their motivations are. If you don't like other people having nice things then don't watch the channel.
Why so negative? It’s a hobby. That’s all.
Some of us just want to try new things and see how light we can get your bikes 🤷🏻♂️
And what does it matter to you if I want to throw money at stuff that, only do that in your opinion?
And personally, simply riding a bike that is tricked out makes me happier than riding an entry level bike. Do I go faster? No, and I don’t care for something as trivial as that. I cycle, because it gives me the chance to ride the bikes that I’ve spent good time and money tinkering.
Why did this guy watch this video only to be so triggered by it?
Projecting pretty hard there, Emilio.
