My Best Advice for Sharing Your Faith with People

  • Hi beautiful people :) So I actually recorded this a few weeks ago when I did the "ask me anything" thing on insta. I've been super busy so I'm just now getting around to posting it, but hopefully this still helped you even though I did that question thing what feels like a whileeeee ago haha. But my best advice that I didn't say in this video is that when a non-believer asks you a question about your faith, don't think of it as answering a question, think of it as answering a PERSON. A human. Made in the image of God, whom He loves. Thinking about it that way changes EVERYTHING for me and it helps me to be a lot more empathetic, caring, kind, and understanding...rather than when it's just answering a question and all about being "right" or winning. Hopefully that gives you a new perspective on it. :)
    I make all of my videos for Jesus. I don't know where I would be without Him.

    before, i was really afraid to doubt things about the Christian faith bc im sooo scared to offend God and i feel lyk it’s unacceptable to ask the character of God. but as i grew up and mature spiritually, the Lord made me realize that it’s ok to ask things, to just cast everything unto Him including our doubts bc nothing is too hard for Him to handle. and asking things means ur not just blindly believing what’s being dictated to u by a preacher or smthng, ur actually making sure if what u stand for is the truth. lyk what the prophets said to the people in the old testament times, “search the scriptures”. it means to inquire more and think about it, if u have questions research and meditate on it.
    thanks for the reminder once again becca!

    I love your videos so much. You are so real, thank you so much for making this video because it has given me so much encouragement to continue talking to people about Jesus even when its hard. I guess not knowing the answer is an opportunity for me to seek God and be in the word.
    Prayer Request: My aunt Sue just passed away this morning at 2 am and they are not sure how, she has had many surgeries for different things. Last Sunday was the last time I saw her. In church she shared how thankful she was that her insurance covered all of her medical bills thus far. She told us she had another surgery to go because the previous one didn't work. She said "It's in Gods hands and He is working in me, He has a plan." Most people would think that God's plan only pertains to being healed, but God knew she was having a rough time and wanted her to come home. Prayers for the family would be appreciated. Help us through this hard time and to realize that she is with Jesus now. It is easy to be selfish, but because of her passing I am inspired by her faith and I am reminded to take risks. God is a God of thee possible so everything He calls us to do is possible no matter how impossible it is.

    Romans 5:8
    8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
    2 Corinthians 5:21
    21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
    Romans 6:23
    23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
    John 3:16
    16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
    Romans 8:38-39
    38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
    Hebrews 4:12 KJV
    "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
    Hebrews 13:16
    "And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased." ... These are the sacrifices that please God."

    Ok, so for starters, totally superficial comment but you are gorgeous! I absolutely love your coloring and always wanted red/auburn hair growing up. You also have such pretty eyes.
    Ok, now for the other part, I love this video because it is so real and authentic and that’s what draws people to hearing you about Jesus. When we make Jesus a gimmick or sound like church is just an extracurricular hobby, it wreaks of phoniness to unbelievers. But when they see something different in you and the light you’re radiating, they want to know what’s different. If you’re being real with them when you don’t have all the answers then they realize they can come to Jesus in their broken mess and don’t have to clean themselves up for Jesus because we’re all still stumbling through. The difference is we have the help of the Holy Spirit and the joy that comes from a relationship with the Creator of the universe and He is in control.

    Can I please ask you a really serious question? I’ve had a boyfriend for the past 6 months who is an incredible, respectful, kind, and caring individual. Just yesterday I had an hour long conversation with him about how important my faith is to me and I asked if that’s something he would be interested in learning about and his response broke my heart. He said that he does believe in God (that’s a huge start for me!) but that he doesn’t want to read the Bible or get deeper into it I guess. I am seriously struggling right now and honestly the first thing I thought of was checking your channel to see if you have a video on this. I would really really appreciate your advice on this. I don’t want to just break up with him, I feel like this is a huge chance to share Jesus with him but I have no idea how. I really felt like he drew a line in the sand and basically said he’s not interested. What can I do? Thank you so much.

    This is a really great video. When I lived on campus in my second year of university I lived with non-believers and I was a newly saved Christian, they respected my beliefs thankfully. I know that God used me that year as I was growing closer to Him my flatmates would always ask me questions like ''How was Church? What do you learn in Church? What is Heaven like?'' etc. It was a good way to share my faith with others but also just showing them that just because I am a Christian I don't and never will know everything. It also allowed me to see them through the eyes of Christ and be very empathetic towards others! God bless you. I love your RUclips channel so much. xx

    Sharing our faith is simply giving people Jesus. Everything that Jesus did was in love, but in truth. When Jesus was around non believers he, loved them, he talked to them, but they were changed because of who he is and what he said to them changed their hearts. Jesus said to go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel. Jesus didn't just give people what they wanted to hear, he gave them the truth of the word, and so should we. God is a good God, and he does not cause bad things to happen to people, Jesus said that the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy, not God. We need to share the truth of God's word with people, because the truth they know, will set them free!! So sharing our Faith with non believers is to simply give them Jesus, our Lord and Savior, so that they can spend eternity with God. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life!!

    Well i would say more atheist are atheists not because of the philosophical questions (tho sure some are) but because there is just no actual evidence for the existence of god nor for the authenticity of the bible. A lot of times those philosophical questions (how can a loving god send a child to hell) come out when atheists talk to theists who will not critically look at the hard evidence for a god, making it a moot point and forcing the conversation into a philosophical one.
    _HOWEVER_ what i think would actually be the "best advice" for sharing your faith.... dont push it. If someone _wants_ to have an open conversation than wonderful. But just as i, an atheist, dont walk up to random Christians and talk about religion (even when they might ask me to not talk about religion) please as a Christian dont hammer it home if the person you are talking to does not want that conversation. My biggest pet-peeve was always when i was working and customers would want to talk to me about religion. DONT DO THIS PEOPLE! I hated it because i could not actually say my mind or have an honest conversation with them. I was trapped and they knew it, because i had to be polite and agreeing with them and i could not even tell them to leave me alone. So please please please dont be that Christian that holds store employees hostage. Or even waiters/waitresses or anything like that. Good rule of thumb is if the person is being _paid_ to talk to you dont bring up religion.

    • @Chryslerdealership

      Hey Andrew, as a Christian myself, I agree with your advice. We don't want to FORCE people into Chrsitianity. If we did, that would seem like we're just doing this for ourselves. But we're not. I have an atheist brother, and he did give me some challenging questions. This may be hard to accept, but honestly, we're humans. None of us have all the answers. Some people look at Christianity and think it's complicated with no logical evidence...so they turn to atheism. And I don't think atheists have all the answers either :) Anyways, I still have questions too, but I have known God so well that I don't mind. I used to be in depression, and I actually came to God because nothing else could give me hope. It's not about religion. It's not even about knowledge (although that does help). It's about a relationship. I don't see God on a daily basis, but I have a closer relationship with Him than I do with my really good best friends that I can see. I learn to walk in faith that God is leading me through every step in life. I'm not afraid of tsunamis, or death, or even the whole world exploding, because I'm safe in God's hands.
      Again, I'm not forcing you, Andrew :) If you have some time, maybe you could read a few chapters in the Bible and see what it's about (Matthew is a great book to start). Or just simply ask Him to reveal Himself to you, if He is real. That wouldn't hurt, right?

      Well said Andrew. I, being a former christian and now atheist agree with you.

    • @__Andrew
      @__Andrew 6 лет назад

      (never got notified of replies)
      *None of us have all the answers... And I don't think atheists have all the answers either*
      Atheist dont try to have all the answers. And generally when an atheist does not know something, they will say so. I do not however find the same to be true of most Christians on similar topics, such as "the beginning of the universe". An atheist will tell you what _may_ have happened based on our best theories. Theories based on actual factual evidence, math, and physics. But in the end they will still say "but we do not know for sure, even if this is our best explanation at the moment". Christians however will _assert_ that their god did it. An assertion not based on any actual evidence but rather almost entirely on faith or a desire for it to be true. And religion does this time and time again. They will assert knowledge on things they have no way of knowing (afterlife, a soul, creation, ect ect)
      *I used to be in depression, and I actually came to God because nothing else could give me hope*
      But hope =/= truth. Many of us rather know a hard truth then a comforting lie.
      *I'm not afraid of tsunamis, or death, or even the whole world exploding, because I'm safe in God's hands*
      Neither am i... however i have known many Christians that _were_ scared of dying because there might be a chance that they might end up in hell. My own grandmother was a devout Catholic and in the end she was in hospice for months and months and months (hospice is normally a month long thing tops) and we were told she was holding on to life when really she should just let go (she was very old, very weak, and very sick. It was her time) so we were encouraged to tell her "it's okay mommom you can go, we will be fine here even when you are gone". And one day she turned to my father and said "Johhny, heaven isnt as easy to get into as people think it is". At the time the family laughed it off as in "well if mommom is worried about not getting into heaven we all better be worried for ourselves". It wasn't untila few years later when her words kept echoing in my head that i realized she was afraid. She was afraid she might not get into heaven after all. So im glad you are not afraid of dying, but Christianity certainly puts the "fear of god" in many.
      *If you have some time, maybe you could read a few chapters in the Bible*
      Iv read it. Twice. Most atheist you talk to have read more of the bible than your average Christian. Because not only have i read it (twice) but iv studied it a lot. I reference back to it, a lot. And i read accompanying works by historians and scholars. Most atheist you meet will tell you that actually reading the bible (all of it, and understanding what you are reading) is the most powerful tool in making atheists.
      *Or just simply ask Him to reveal Himself to you, if He is real. That wouldn't hurt, right?*
      I was a Christian for 20 some odd years so i think i did plenty of that lol. Again, most atheists where once religious.
      But lets say i did this anyway (again) and there was no reveal... what then? Im sure you would not say this was proof of his non-existence so there is no real point in even suggesting this exercise. Usually the line is "you didn't pray/believe/have enough faith" for god to reveal himself. Making it all my fault and not the fault of the being that actually _could_ reveal himself to me. So again... it's a rather pointless exercise and you will never actually reach an atheist with logic like this.

    Just great advice as always Becca! Being able to say "I don't know" is powerful and allows to honestly connect with that person you're talking to more through a display of sincerity. If we are really willing to help this person saying I don't know, then making an effort to research and find the answer will just show how much you care about their salvation.
    P.S. Going to your pastor, youth leader or even parents for some advice on a topic is always a great idea. However, if you don't have such a mentor around, a website called gotquestions.org answers many biblical questions using the Bible and I highly recommend everyone to check it out. My Church's pastor uses it in his sermons all the time when answering tough questions or just any type of questions in general and it's helped me find answers to questions i was asking as well. I hope it can do the same for you all!

    Something I've been hearing a lot lately when it comes to evangelism and outreach is to *LIVE the way Christ lived on Earth, and to LOVE the way He loves* - because for many people, the only Bible they'll read and *the only encounter they'll have with Jesus is through US, His ambassadors and representatives.* The best and easiest way to show someone how your life has been changed is to show them how you live - what fruits are you bearing?
    When Christians judge, sneer and look down on non-believers (AND on our fellow brothers and sisters in the faith - what happened to brotherly love?!) we are representing God incorrectly! It breaks my heart, and it definitely breaks the Father's heart to see how badly His children misrepresent Him.
    I'm sure that over 90% of the people who say they are not interested in Jesus or what the Church has to give, share and preach only say that because of bad experiences they've had with 'Christians' who behave far from the way they should. I can't even point fingers at anyone because I've admittedly done this time and time again! But the Holy Spirit is softening my heart, and I'm allowing God to teach me to love like He does, and I'm learning more and more about the way Jesus treated people so I can emulate His perfection.
    *Let's all pray that we will change and represent Christ the way we should - that way, the world will see that we actually do serve a loving God whose arms are open to them!* God bless ❤

    A Good God has justice. And it's your choice to believe in Light or Darkness.
    Is it God's fault when you choose darkness then the result is hell?

    • @__Andrew
      @__Andrew 6 лет назад

      But in the instance of Christianity "darkness" and thus hell is as easy as not believing in Jesus. And since i see no evidence for the Christian god (nor any god, same as you im sure see no evidence for Allah, Thor, Zeno, or Smith being divine) that condemns me to hell. To say it is a choice is like saying a mafia boss "gives you a choice" to pay him protection money or he burns down your business.

    • @leiladrewthat4372
      @leiladrewthat4372 6 лет назад

      @@__Andrew We can only go to hell when you don't believe that God saved you nor His existence, because how would you believe God saved you when you don't even believed in His existence. But I don't want this to be a debate because I believe God still loves you! And debating is not His Will I just wanted to let you know.

    • @__Andrew

      *We can only go to hell when you don't believe that God saved you nor His existence*
      Sure, unless you read the story in Matthew 25:31 (but it's stories like this one that made the writer of John so insistent in his stance that only through Jesus are we saved, despite the fact that Matthew per-dates John). But regardless you can not force yourself to believe in something. I have looked at all the evidence and the evidence for the Christian god does not even outweigh the evidence for the other 2000 other gods that man has worshiped over time. So... because i have a rational and logical brain that demands evidence (and god has provided me none) he is then going to send me to hell? Hardly sounds fair. It's even more monstrous when you consider all the people born and raised in another religion that god will also toss into hell.
      At the end of the day god is supposed to be all powerful. He could _easily_ wave his hand and send everyone into heaven, or at least the people that did their best to not harm other humans. But he does not. He has an arbitrary line in the sand "believe even tho i have provided no evidence". It shows he does not actually care about people who kill, steal, rape, or abuse... he only cares if you worship him. This is why in the Christian model Anne Frank would be burning in hell for the crime of being a 12 year old Jewish girl while the guard who gassed her could be in heaven for the reward of believing in Jesus.
      I am not an all powerful god. I am not even a very powerful man. But even i, had i the ability, would not send a single person into hell. There is no point to it. Hell is not punishment, it is revenge and cruelty for cruelties sake.

      Ah! How about start praying, see if He gives you something.Tell that you're suffering and wanting some answers in life.

    • @__Andrew
      @__Andrew 6 лет назад

      I was a Christian for 20 some odd years, i did plenty of that so please dont make the same mistake many Christians do and just say "well have you tried praying". Lets say i prayed... and something happened, you would say "see that is proof of god". Now lets say i pray and nothing happened. You would _not_ say that is proof god is not real. What if i prayed to _another_ god and then something happened, you would _again_ claim that it is not proof that another god besides the Christian one is real. So it's all a moot point. By telling someone to pray you are actually telling them the onus is on _them_ to believe because you want them believe.
      I had some medical problems the last couple of years and i came out ahead. When i tell people my journey through it all many of them that are Christian say "it was a miracle" or "god certainly was watching out for you". If i told any of them i prayed to god then im sure they would all agree it was proof positive it was the Christian god. In reality i did no praying to a Christian god. Instead about once a week i prayed to the "Flying Spaghetti Monster" (a made up god) for her to bless me in her noodly appendages and anoint me in her savory sauces of grace. Now.. if i told any of them i prayed to this made up god do you think _any_ of them would take that as proof that the Fling Spaghetti Monster is real (or god forbid i prayed to Allah instead and got better)? Of course not. But flip the script and make it about _their_ god and suddenly that bar for what constitutes as evidence is lowered all the way to the ground. This is why _NO_ study of intercessory prayer has ever shown it works. And why studies on personal prayer show it works the same as someone praying in another religion or simply meditating.

    To all the Christians of the world: How can a ''loving'' ''God'' sends his own creation (his own image) to hell, to be burned and tortured eternally (for an infinite amount of time if that wasn't clear enough) simply because they worshiped another God or did not know that he exists or did not worship him? Ethically and morally speaking? how could that be wrong to the point to be being sent to a place to be tortured for an unlimited amount of time? how can torture be justified in any way? it's the most evil and monstrous act any "human" being can perform let alone a " loving" god!

      God gives us the opportunity to know him also God does desire for everyone to be saved but that doesnt mean everyone will be it is about consequence of action Jesus died for our sins so when you believe in Jesus he takes away your sin and you become blameless before God because of Jesus there are many people who have done great sins and we are all sinners thats why we need Jesus. If you murder somebody out in the world there will be a consequence you will be taken to prison and it is the same with sin, sin leads to death but Jesus leads to life. He died so that we may have life, eternal life. Also we dont know what happens on peoples death beds whether fhey turn to Jesus before they die there are some things we shall never know
