That Lidar system is insane! And honestly, spending $600 isn't so bad for a permanent auto focus puller and being able to use manual lenses by yourself. Basically like spending what you would pay a focus puller for a day and instead getting a focus puller for hundreds of days. Definitely will have to invest in that later this year!
Can you active track yourself on the DJI RS4 ? Without all the extras accessories ? Or you must have the lidar raven eye and all the focus motor etc.. ??
You will need either the LiDAR or the raven eye. But if you’re someone like me who runs an external monitor/recorder with only one HDMI output on my camera, the LiDAR will be your go to for active track.
Thank you for this. I’m about to be a two person crew in a doc shoot in Taiwan and following two people talking will be common so that last demo shot with both of them sold me on this as equipment I need to get.
Thank you for the introduction. What kind of DJI Cable hub is that? It look different then the old one. Do you have a link or informations to it? I can't find anything.
Hi Connor - excellent video with multiple perspectives/insights on the technology. Did you do any low-light testing with the new LiDAR-enhanced and AI-enhanced ActiveTrack Pro in light-challenged conditions? No one is testing these auto track systems in low light, and I've been buying and returning systems because they consistently fail in less-than-ideal lighting conditions. Thanks!
I’ve seen lots of videos using the gimbal for video, but does this translate to photography. I would like to mount my camera in a remote location and control the gimbal to frame my subject and control the camera to focus, zoom and take photos. Having a large monitor would be a plus.
But according to Amazon, the DJI RS 4 Pro Combo doesn't come with the lidar unit? It seems strange to make creators push the feature so hard in DJI RS 4 Pro videos
Would you say it's worth putting the RS4 on a shoulder rig like they did on The Creator or is it that overkill? Can you still get a decent stabilised image using anamorphic lenses on just a shoulder rig with no gimbal?
Nice video! One question. Is it possible to activate active track from the High Bright Monitor? I would like to use Active track when I am solo shooting with my 13ft jib. So with the jib high I can't reach the gimbal so I would like to set up my framing and then activate active track from the high Bright Monitor with the control handles. is that possible? Do I need the Lidar and the new lidar hub?
Man there is a bunch new with this actually, although a bunch of it is subtle when it comes to the gimbal specifically. But everything around it with the new LiDAR sensor, focus hand unit and grip, and integration with the high bright monitor is actually amazing. And DJI made it backwards compatible which I think is super cool of them
@@dreamhunterfilms2796just bought it. It comes with a phone holder. But idk if the phone can be connected to the stabiliser the same way the camera can.
Did I hear correctly? You have to re-calibrate your lens every time you switch them? That sounds like a huge time waster on set. Can they not just be saved on the system and ready to go whenever you switch lenses?
@@connormccaskill I owned the rs2 pro with the focus system and all, even when routing the cables its still an issue. I would like to see a cableless solution for their accessories. I mean some are a given but the PDMOVIE AIR smart 3 has no cables and is a all on one unit for lidar focusing. I want DJI to do that for their focusing module
Yeah, too much clutter. Reminds me of my old Ronin 2 Red Dragon X setup. Was so glad to sell all that mess and just use FX3s with Sony lenses and use autofocus. No need for raven eyes, focus pullers, etc. Other than anamorphic lenses, nobody can tell the difference between Cooke, Zeiss, etc after grading. Just video snake oil to get your money.

Yeah man, exactly! I think all of this DJI tech could change the game! And I never even talked about their LiDAR focus grip
Thanks for having us Connor! Super fun to be a part of it.
It was great to have you in this man!! Your perspective really added to the video!
digging the colony house jacket btw!
video turned out great! love seeing all my friends in here! also, that shirt looks great on you!
gimbal seems cool too 😂
Haha thanks man! See you at NAB
CRUSHED IT BRO.
Thanks man! Your video shreds! This DJI tech is insane!
Great review Connor!! Thanks again for including us in it!! :-)
Man it was awesome to have you be apart of this video! Super fun to shoot with you guys again!
This ting is ….
A game changer 💯💯 sick video my guy 🫡
DJI definitely didn’t hold back with this launch! 🚀 appreciate your help on this video man!!

Glad it was helpful for you
So we need the camera, gimbal, lidar pro, raven eye, the cable hub and the focus motor for this all to work for object tracking/focusing???
Great video, Connor! One question... Is it possible to use just the Active Track Pro feature of the LiDAR (the camera will do AF)?
Thank you for the introduction.

looks amazing, did you use the gimble with cage + camera? or half cage?

How much Latency does the wireless monitoring system have?

RS3 pro and RS4 Pro rigged for shoulder use is fantastic.
Hi Conor ! Top Content Bro, Keep it up with the Great work and just subscribed !

Have you tried Dji Rs4pro w Lumix S9 w 70-200 2.8 no lidar , one cabe connection active track at 75ft?
I don't know how to use the RS4 PRO. I have it and it just sits here. I am a photographer; wanting to shoot video for sports. Help me pls.
It’s almost the same as the RS3 Pro! I would just look up gimbal setup and basics on RUclips! You’ve got this!
What happens when the subject goes out of frame? will the gimbal come back to the center position or stay there searching for them?
I would love to see how the lidar works on a 24-70lens
Can’t you do a lot of these things with the RS3 Pro?
Does it have the Dolly zoom option? Because the Rs3 took that away when the rs2 had it
Idk that it has a specific “option” but you definitely could do a dolly zoom on this setup!
I cannot find any information on the dji website about the usb power hub?
Game changer! Nice meeting you today, bro!
It was nice meeting you bro! Reach out on IG, maybe we can collaborate on something soon
we are waiting for dji to implement 4D into the gimbals. tired of this same gimbal relaunched again and again. nothing really new.

Do you mean on the RS4 pro?

You can have multiple saved lenses in the system
Is the app safe? I heard they have spyware

Thanks!
