Wow talk about upbadging👎 I had a guy the other day in parking lot ask me if mine was real, really? Then I see this shit.
Wow, you are so quick to jump and judge something you don’t even understand.
This car is used on the track. Everything done to this car has served a purpose. The Hellcat bumper allows more air in to cool the power steering cooler and added oil coolers, the Hellcat hood helps extract heat, the widebody allows me to run demon wheels and 200tw tires for a series that I compete in.
There is not a single badge on the car that says Hellcat or demon, just one SRT8 badge on the spoiler.
I have nothing negative to say to you, I just wish more people would take a deeper look at a build/ page / RUclips channel before jumping to conclusions and bashing something they don’t understand.
This might be the stupidest shit ive ever read, I have a 2016 hellcat and I wouldnt consider this upbadging in the slightest. Not one did he ever claim it to be a hellcat or demon, maybe if you spent less time commenting useless shit on youtube videos, youd be able to afford a hellcat, get your money up
@@nickbordenca I don't need to compensate captain keyboard commando
@@TIRADORACING before anybody else replies up badging means a lot of things one of which means making something that it is not into something that it still is not
2bParagon i think you should try compensating, it may suit you a bit better considering you dont have much going for yourself at the moment
I cant thank you enough...... i (we) appreciate you taking the time to show us the good and the bad. This channel is going to blow up soon.
🔥✊✌
Wow thank you so much for those kind words! 🙏🏽
Thanks a whole lot. Just got mine in, now I know what to expect. Great work!!
thank you so much you greatly helped me . no matter how critical you are of your own job it gives the video much more transparency on how to confidently pull off a decent install
Thanks for the kind words! I try to provide value AND full transparency in my “install” videos.
It looks really good bro..excellent job!
Great video Challenger looks good keep up the good Work I Just Subscribed 🙏🤙
Hey thank you! I really appreciate that! I need to make an update video here soon!
Glad to see this man, got my vicrez widebody coming and this is super helpful
Glad you were able to get some value out of it!
TIRADO RACING how long have you had the widebody on after installation? Any issues with the glue? I want to be sure this thing isn't going to come flying off when exceeding 100. I just can't believe they send these things out with double sided tape
It’s been like 6 months. I’ve had some lifting but it’s not the glues or the kits fault, I installed it in 30 degrees with poor prep.
To properly bond you have to sand the mating surface and apply in an controlled environment and let it cure for 24 hours while holding constant pressure.
Did you get your kit yet? I think mines on delay 😕
Really good to see this thanks for doing this really appreciate it
Thank you Michael! I appreciate the support 💯
Thanks so much mu friend
Excellent info 🙌🏻 appreciate it

Hey man love the video. How are the flares holding up?
Thanks for the video brother! I appreciate it.
Yes sir! Anytime!

Thanks for the videos. I like seeing the progress of your vehicle, the color is bitchin!!Considering this kit for my 12 srt8....😎😎
Thanks for watching! I have a few videos lined up I’ve just been busy. I think you will enjoy the next phase of the challenger !
Good info. Thanks
Thanks for the info as usual dude. will be using glue for mine 100%
Anytime lain! I don’t hide anything (as you already know lol). I have some things to fix but not really too worried about it 😎
@@TIRADORACING exactly those little things are minor. But Ild be the same I would drive me nuts. I've linked my bodyshop you channel and videos.
Ill keep you posted on my build
Do you recommend to hold the flair tight for about 10-15 min before moving on to the next one?
I put the wide body kit on my hellcat and the problem is the gap...so I got a rubber seal and I'm removing the flares and I will post a video to s how how it looks on the seem ...but definitely has to be done before installing the flares, u did a pretty good job on urs 👍
Dang I just saw this! Let me know how it comes out! If you have Instagram feel free to DM me!
Really appreciate your videos and your honesty. This channel should blow up soon. Just a couple questions. If you glue it, you basically can’t remove it right? It’ll be permanently on the car? And at 9:42, just about as you’re removing the rear fender off the car, what is that stuff left behind on the paint? It that glue or tape or rust or something else? I’m worried about this thing rusting up my fenders. I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks again for the great video
Hey Anthony thanks for the kind words!
To answer your question it is not rust! Lol it’s seam sealer. When you cut the rear of the car it is 2 layers. You cut the first layer off then fillet the second layer and fold it up to close the gap. You weld that together then apply the seam sealer to protect it from rust. Same stuff TJ Hunt used on his widebody Supra he built for Sema last year.
I did film the cutting process but I lost all the video ☹️
TIRADO RACING oh no way, you had to cut the rear fender to put this on???
U r real 👌👍 love that you show the problems. This video helps me out with my kit
Thank you and no problem! Just keeping it 💯!
What if you took a paint brush to the glue to level it out instead of a bead? Apply smaller bead on both then 1 light brush stroke all the way?
That’s a good what if.... I didn’t try it so I could not tell you how well it would work but just visualizing it I think it would work well!
Great video nice car
Thanks Mark!
Good video, thanks
No problem! Thanks for watching! You can reach me directly on Instagram @tiradoracing if you have any questions!
It’s kind of hard to tell, but do you have wider/Widebody wheels on the challenger ? That’s my only concern. If I order the kit and the factory Widebody wheels for my hellcat would the fit with the wheels and flares be perfect fit? Versus the wheels looking “tucked” in and the flares sticking out over the wheels? Thx
Yes this video is kind of old, check out some of newer ones.
I’m running oem Dodge Demon wheels 18x11 -4.5 offset with Nitto 555 g2 315/40/18 on all 4 corners.
Perfect is subjective so I will not say it will be a perfect fit because perfect for you and me are totally different. But will it look like a widebody Hellcat yes. Oem widebody wheels are 20x12 -2.5 offset.
It’s all about offset when widening the car. Anything with a + positive offset will bring the wheel in (per say). A negative offset will push the wheel out. (This is a really basic way to think of it).
hello I have a question do you think I have to cut away part of the wheel wale on the wide body install if the wheels I have are 20x11 in the rear and 20x9 in the front staggered with 2" spacers in the front?
All depends on OFFSET. You can have 20x11 0 or 20x11 -4.5 like the demons. Without that offset number o really don’t know. But based off experience, you WILL need to cut some especially if you want the wheel flush with the fender.
Just play with it and see what you can or can’t get away with
Ok cool I will get to work I’m also using glue
Def cant wait till mine come in, thank you for the info!
No problem and as I said in the video you can always dm me on Instagram!
I definitely will be! Thanks again, my Instagram is @xx_equinsu_ocha_xx
Good work💪🏼 now would a clear water resistant silicone application work? Incase of removing the kit in the future? That’s saying if you didn’t cut fenders
Thanks Jovanny! And to be honest I don’t know, I don’t want to give you any misleading information
TIRADO RACING hmm I’ll look into or speak with a body shop lol 🤔
Yea I’m not a body expert lol. But if you get an answer feel free to comment it for anyone else wondering!
👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿great job!!!!
Thank you! Working on a full breakdown of the car so stay tuned!
Hey bro where u bought this wide body kit
Hey bro, I have a hellcat here in Austin. I was wondering if you run wheels with a wider offset (or spacers if that's your thing) are you rubbing on your fenders? I got this widebody kit for 550 and am regretting it because I feel like I need to cut the body anyway for my wheels to fit and not rub on bumps. Thanks
Yea if you watch any of my newer videos or go to my Instagram (tiradoracing) you’ll see I run oem dodge demon wheels. 18x11 -4.5 offset with a 315/40/18 Nitto 555G2.
My car is really low so I had to cut, I have friends who are stock height and using oem widebody wheels and they didn’t cut.
Just to clarify I’m not saying you’ll be “ok” without cutting. I’m just telling you what I know others have done.
Is a wider offset better than spacers or does it not really matter just personal choice?
This is an age old debate. You’ll read both answers are correct. Basically depends on preference. If you go spacers just read up on the “proper” way to install them.
My plastic step the rear metal bumper of my ram was lifting, so I told the dealer. They used the 3m glue to secure it. It’s starting to lift again. They may have used clear not black. I’m one of the parts guys at the dealer I don’t remember what I gave the tech. Anyway, it’s not nearly as bad as it was. Just keep an eye on them. Also,They glued one spot you’re gluing the whole thing.
It’s all in the prep work honestly.....I learned this after the fact but the glue, the metal, and the plastic all have to be at the same temperature due to differences in expansion rates. So the way I did it was wrong.
Secondly it would have been better to sand where the glue mounts to the car to give the glue something to hang on to.
I’m not too worried, at the end of the season I’ll blow it apart and re do it all.
How much would you charge me to paint and install it on my charger ? And would the demon replicas fit it fine to get rid of the gap
I’m sorry but I do not do customer cars at this time.
As for replica wheels you will still need the right offset. Oem Dodge Demon wheels are -4.5 offset and widebody Hellcat wheels are -2.5 offset.
I’m not sure what offset replica wheels come in but those are the numbers to look for. I hope this helps!
Hey from Germany 🇩🇪, I’m wondering how many battle of 3M Universal Adhesive Black I will need for install all widebody kit ?!
Hello from Texas! I would purchase 3 to be on the safe side
What did your paint/body guy use to fill it in before repainting?
I never took it to him, I figured it would be a waste to do it back in February, race all year, then have to get paint touch ups on the off season.
If you do it right unlike I did you won’t need to have the gaps filled.
I’m gonna year them off at some point and redo them anyway.
late comment but can i run spacers to fit my stock wheels
Yeap!
How do you go about the wider wheel to offset with the new fenders?
Hey Marcos,
So the answer is in tour question, you would have to get wheels with the correct offset. I personally went with OEM Dodge Demon wheels to run competitive tires in the optima series but those specs are 18x11 with a -4.5 offset
Oem Hellcat and scat pack widebody wheels are 20x12 with a -2.5 off set.
The width of the wheel doesn’t necessarily matter if you have the incorrect offset.
I use to run TSW in 20x10 +20 offset all the way around on my narrow body. And I even had a set of Forgeline Wheels with the rear being a 20x10.5 with the correct offset to sit flush with the narrow body.
@@TIRADORACING thank you, I have a set of fenders I've been meaning to install on mine, but I knew spacers alone ain't gonna cut it. Very useful info! all about the - offsset
I don’t use spacers but I know of actual professional drivers that do use spacers and even some pre runner trucks that use spacers. But yes all about offset!
did you use adhesive promoter when you taped it on?
Ooof not in this video no. I didn’t know about it till later
Did the kit come the same color as the car or did you have to paint it?
I had to paint it
Do you think I could just screw it in and bondo over the screw holes then paint
Absolutely thats def one way to do it. Just depends how you wanna do it I guess lol.
Hey bro looks great 👍Mine will be here Monday! How is the glue holding up??
Thank you! And it’s been on all year lol autocross and one road race. The glue is messy, I would try the method I used with the 3m tape on our Infiniti Q50 rear diffuser. That thing is on there good!
3m 30 pound tape
3m adhesive promotor
Heat up tape with heat gun
Apply adhesive promotor to car
Apply flare.
But watch my video on the q50 and you’ll see how easy it is, I would try that before glue. Wish I would have tried the tape like that the first go round but oh well.
Thanks for the advice bro 👌🏽 I just watched the Q50 rear diffuser install video and it looks like it’ll hold up with that method! Do you think it’ll hold up against the heat and weather? What grit sandpaper do you recommend to rough up the paint ?
I can’t promise it’ll hold up to anything so don’t hate me lol. But our q50 has been solid all year lol. And you don’t need a super crazy grit, and also be careful on your fenders where you sand so you don’t sand too high up and the flare won’t cover it.
Def a measure 5 times sand once.
@@TIRADORACING One last quick question.. my scat pack challenger is on stock suspension, I have the widebody replica wheels with -2.5 offset, would I need to cut the rear and front fenders?? Or just the front? I appreciate all the help man! The thought of cutting fenders and sanding some of the paint is scary, but I have my mind set on that widebody lol.
You technically don’t need to cut. As long as your on stock suspension. Now I have never personally done it but my friend @whipswitwavey has and another Instagram as well.
I know a few others but I don’t know their instas off the top of my head.
Do yourself a solid and watch @rome_lowlife videos as well. There are fitment issues with the front lip and he def figured it out.
Lastly check out @mango3ninety2 videos as well.
Those are all instagram handles so you need to find their RUclips’s. But mango3ninety2 did his all tape with small modifications to the flare that are simple to do.
Between all those people and videos you should feel confident. But do yourself a favor and watch all the videos through, read all the comments, read the description below each video and I’m sure you’ll find all your answers.
And of course feel free to DM on Instagram @tiradoracing 👌🏽
Will water wash the glue away and make it fall off and if not how long should it stick
No, water will not wash the glue away. I have driven in all weather and their still on the car. I do now know how long it will stay on. So far 6 months and counting
Did it work well In the long term? I know this video 2yrs old, which is perfect timing for my question. I hope it worked well for you💯
It actually did hold up very well, driving the car as aggressive as I do and hitting cones, scraping on trailers etc are the only reasons I had issues. Plenty of people run this kit now.
If you have the funds look into the oem widebody kit. It’s available through a Dodge dealership with a direct connection program.
You still have to cut the rear per Dodge instructions.
I went oem after having vicrez for a year.
@@TIRADORACING perfect bro! Thanks a ton!
I like the flares, but the car really needs wider wheels or wheel spacers to look right.
Yea this is old, I had demon wheels set aside for it before I even had the widebody kit. Oem demon wheels and 315’s on all 4 corners
You did pretty good bro. Ima deff use 3m glue. What size of rims and tires you get btw
Hey James I appreciate that! And I went with oem demon wheels 18x11 (found them on eBay) and I’m currently riding on Nitto 555g2 on all 4 corners, but for autocross and track days I’ll be on BFGOODRICH Rival S 1.5 in a 315 also.
@@TIRADORACING I just finished conversing my v6 bumper to a hellcat bumper. Buying the flares soon but I want to buy rims and tires 1st. What size you recommend to avoid me doing extra cuts on the fender. Dont need exaggerated wide tires just something that looks stocked and clean
There’s more to this question than just “what size wheel should I get”. If you want the widebody to look correct your going to need wheels that are not only wider but have the correct offset in order for the face of the wheel to sit closer to the lip of the new widebody flare......
So if you ask me get the wheels you like but for it to look right your going to need the correct negative offset for it to look right..... which means your going to have to trim... no real way around it.
@@TIRADORACING rodger I'll definitely keep that in mind
James Ruiz one other option you can run with the widebody for proper look and fitment would be a 20x11 wheel with a +5 offset, 305/35R20 for the tires
How many glue cartridges would I need to buy? Wondering is one enough
I would buy 3 to be safe. I used about 2 and a half.
thanks a lot great info. quick question: how long does it take the glue to dry, like how long would I have to apply pressure to the fender before releasing to let it sit the remaining 24hour cure?
Hey rich rich ! I would say 24hrs to be safe. I did like 24 min and that’s where I had issues.
TIRADO RACING yeah i saw in a previous comment were you said it needed 24hours of curing. but do I need pressure to be applied constantly the full 24? I thought it just needed to sit for 24hours not apply pressure the whole time
You know it’s one of those things where I’m not 100% sure. But to be 100% safe just apply pressure for 24h, your already going to wait 24h so why not apply the pressure.
I don’t know how (obviously I didn’t do it) to keep pressure steady for that long, BUT I do have friends who leaned heavy objects on theirs for the time period and it worked.
TIRADO RACING ok I just didn’t have any idea how I could if I did have to lol. I thought that maybe leaning something on it would damage it. about how long did you apply pressure to yours?
Like I said two comments up. About 24 minutes lol I wasn’t kidding. Guys on Instagram have sent me creative ways they have been able to keep pressure on the flares. You don’t gotta lean up abrasive things like bricks or concrete (that would damage or scratch them) some guys wrapped things in towels or cloths to protect the flares from the objects they were leaning or pressing the flares with.
Just gotta get creative, another guy on insta used JB weld on the flares to create more contact surface for the tape to bond to on the flare. And he screwed his brackets in with self tap screws.
There’s not one set correct way to install them everyone does it different lol
Thanks for the information and instructions. I ordered my kit from octane motorsports, litteraly looks exactly the same except they say they use polypropylene compared to vicrez polyurethane which is supposed to last longer and has higher heat tolerence. Anyways can I use a factory widebody splitter to fit the kit or does it have to be aftermarket?
The widebody oem splitter and the one that came with my vicrez bumper are the exact same. So if you get an oem widebody splitter it should work
@@TIRADORACING Thank you and thank you for responding on IG
Where did you get flares? How much? How much to paint?
ruclips.net/video/p19CjBqbSeQ/видео.html
Links to everything in the bio of that video 👆🏽.
What I paid for paint will not reflect what you will pay because I had a hook up price on the paint.
I would say anywhere between 500-800.
Hope this helps.
hows it holding up so far? do you recommend the glue ? i seem your post saying you did it wrong and temperatures have to be the same due to expansion. what the best way to do this?
Best way is to Sand down some of the paint so the glue has something to grab onto. Need to clamp them together for 24hrs. Done in a controlled environment, glue and metal and flares all the same temp due to expansion rates differing with temperature (same thing I said in that other comment you read)
It’s holding up good. Just went autocrossing and no issues. Texas heat, cold, rain, highway driving and racing. Their still on the car 5 months later lol. I don’t daily drive it but I did for about a month.
How did it look when u fill it in and paint it?
It’s been a long time but I ended up redoing the entire body kit and repainting the car. I used oem parts.
Hello good sir ‼️
Is your car lowered? If that why you had to cut for clearance for bigger wheels?
Yes my car is aggressively low. Secondly I use it for racing. So when the car has body roll the wheels and tires would touch the fenders. Not the wheels and tires in this video, this video is old, but my demon wheels and tires.
And not just bigger wheels because I went from 20x10 wheels to 18x11 wheels.
The Demon wheels have an aggressive offset that poke past the stock fender line. Unlike the 20 inch TSW’s in this video that stay inside the factory fenders.
I have a 2019. Do I need to get different headlights for this kit???
Nah man. Like I said the OLDER generation headlamps are bigger. The 2015+ (this includes 2019) are the right size.
It’s a Hellcat bumper, there weren’t hellcats pre 2015.
So you wouldn’t need to do all these crazy steps
TIRADO RACING thanks for the info man! I appreciate it! I’m looking to getting one of those hoods you have. Looks sick!
Michael Fox I got that from Steve white parts, you can find them online. It’s an oem Hellcat hood. And no problem anytime!
TIRADO RACING you have a steel hood?
Michael Fox yes sir. Not fiberglass. Mopar part
what is your wheel specs and tire setup?
Current setup: OEM Dodge Demon wheels 18x11 on 315/40/18 Nitto 555G2 on all 4
Corners.
How many bottles of the adhesive do you recommend ?
3-4
TIRADO RACING thanks i should’ve went with this at first i used some butyl sealant i already had and it’s lifting when the car sits in heat only with the front fenders at the top .. it came out great just the lifting killing me 🤣🤣 trying to get it together before i get everything wrapped in satin black
I had some lifting and added a dab of super glue and it worked lol idk how bad your lifting was but mine wasn’t too bad.
Also make sure you do it in a controlled environment where the glue and flares and car are all the same temperature.
I did mine in 30* so I was 100% bound to get lifting issues in the summer and so far it hasn’t been too bad just a small spot here and there
Could you glue the brackets on also.
Yes sir, I glued all of that down. This was back in late February early March, Their still on the car. Rain, shine, autocross..... still on there
is the glue bad for the paint of the car? will it permanently stain it?
I have no clue, the paint underneath the car was the least of my worries...not to mention I’ve cut the car so I never planned on taking the flares off.
I’ll tell you what I’ve told many other people considering this kit
If you don’t want to cut the car buy an oem widebody Challenger
If you want a pure oem look fit and finish buy an oem widebody Challenger.
If you scared the glue, tape or any other adhesive might hurt the paint then buy an oem widebody Challenger.
Not being mean, just being honest and transparent, this method isn’t for everyone!
@@TIRADORACING lol i have this kit on my car and im having issues getting it to stick . the 3m doesent work on the font fenders so im going to have to glue it . glad you made this video.
Ahhh yes, I’ve had a few of my friends on Instagram get it to stick using the scotch 3m stuff... the heavy duty kind. And one guy used a little heat to bend his flare a little.
Here’s a link to the extreme mounting tape ( it’s the tape I used in my test, it was a pain to get off the car and it even pulled some paint off my car)
www.homedepot.com/p/3M-Scotch-1-in-x-11-1-yds-Permanent-Double-Sided-Extreme-Mounting-Tape-414-LONGDC/205507375
Maybe give this a try before you commit to glue. Hope this helps!
@@TIRADORACING thanks! you reallly have to get creative installing this kit i used heat to shape my fenders but if your not careful you can dent it. ill use the scotch tape on the smaller pieces i already ordered the glue off your link going to use that on my front fenders. once those 2 pieces stick im set !
Yes you really do! Don’t forget you need that applicator gun for the glue to get a true 50/50 mix ratio! If you have any questions feel free to dm me on Instagram man @tiradoracing.
Also feel free to send me pics on how it came out! I would love to see it!
Man you should have went with @Phillps Performance Lil Devils. Excellent fit and finish no tape or glue.
I highly dislike those. I’m not trying to be mean or anything but adding the LiL Devil flares wouldn’t have allowed me to run this wide of a wheel and tire with how low the car sits. One high speed turn on the track and the Lil Devil flares will meet the tires in a heart beat. I might have been able to run wider tires out back but that’s only half the battle as I need just as wide a tire up front.
So in the end the LD flares wouldn’t have solved my problem.... the goal wasn’t purely aesthetic, but to be able to run wider wheels and competitive tires for the Optima Ultimate Street Car series.
Those are not widebody kit’s those are just fender flares
Where did you buy the wide kit from?
Vicrez.
Anybody looking to put these on you can start with $700 to buy them, then by the time you’re done painting (Base-coat clearcoat) by a body shop and they have to glue them on the right way not 3M tape, now you’re probably looking at the $1800 to $2000 that may change by region where you live. Body shops aren’t cheap, especially the ones that know what they’re doing and to do the job the right way and once you glue them on there on for good, no taking them off without taking off the glue which will dry rock hard. So it looks like the whole thing would cost about $2700 to $3000. if you don’t want any problems after putting them on.
Did you have to cut anything on your car to put the flares on
To answer your question no. I did not have to cut anything on my car to put the flares on.
BUT I did cut the car and matched the cuts to the flares to put the demon wheels and tires on. My car is lowered and I use it for racing and I needed the clearance for the bigger wheels and tires.
Next time after placening them use 2inch tape to hold them in place instead of just waiting while you hold
Good note!
Try using a heat gun to loosen up the glue an put it back to close the gap
I would but..... this is a year old and the car is getting a completely custom aluminum widebody and front splitter built for it. Started yesterday. I’ll post videos as always.
What size tires are currently running?I'm considering doing a widebody on mine only concern is the tires rubbing on the fenders
In that video they were 255’s in a 20x10 +20 wheel. Hence why it looks “sunken “ into the widebody.
Now I run OEM Dodge Demon wheels in 18x11 -4.5 offset with a 315/30/18 Bfgoodrich Rival S or my street tires Nitto 555 G2 in 315/40/18 (bigger side wall)
If you have stock wheels you won’t necessarily run the fenders, the width of the tire isn’t the problem. If your lowered and get the correct offset wheel that pokes out then you’ll be rubbing your fenders.
I have friends who did the widebody and widebody Hellcat/scatpack wheels and they ride on stock suspension so they don’t rub at all!
I was lowered so when I added the demon wheels I had to cut my fenders.
Adding wider tires alone will not fill out the fender flares YOU NEED THE CORRECT OFFSET that pushes the wheel out.
Hope this helps!
@@TIRADORACING You covered just about everything. Thank you. Only question left is, how much 'lowered' were you? I plan to stay stock but run a taller tire. So if you're lowered an inch and I want to gain an inch in total dia, then it sounds like I'll rub. Thanks for your time.
I’m lowered like 6 inches lol my rockers almost touch the ground lol. I think you’ll be fine!
Could we get an update ? Still sticking good?
The updates are on the channel. Went oem about a year ago.
Did you use the glue and the tape together
No just glue...... you can see I removed the tape and there is no tape on the flares. Just glue
How long does that glue take to dry?
About 20-30 min. The glue has instructions on the back too.
What glue you used?
Links to everything in description....
May be because that fender gets heated up due to engine
I wish they made a bolt on kit. Looks like a pain.
You can always go with the liberty walk bolt on kit!
🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑
Jaime Fernandez 😂 yea that’s true lol for me it was worth it so I could fit more tire under the car and generate more grip. Overall I had fun and I enjoyed the work! But if you ever have questions and make the jump hit me up I’ll always answer!
Hatts off good job. Car looks great. Can't wait to see move.
Yeah, I wish it was more bolt on. But nice job working through the challenges and explaining the good and bad parts.
20x11 wheels?
Yea 20x11, it all depends on the offset. Can you fit 20x11 on the narrow body? I’m not sure.
Will 20x11 fit on the widebody, yes. But your going to need the right offset to fill the wider wheel well.
Do you have to cut the fenders before you install the flares?

If your lowered and are going to run wide wheels yes you need to cut before you install the flares. It’s hard to cut the car with the flares on.
Others have ran the flares without cutting, and with wider wheels with the right offset***im not saying to do this, I’m just stating others have done so before****I do not know what size tires they used either so the tire height might have some effect as well****
All I can tell you is what I did, I cut my car to make room for my oem demon wheels, and my car is lowered and I use my car for racing
So the benefits of running more tire far outweighed me cutting my car so it was easy for me to cut my car.
Whatever choice you decided to go with do so at your own risk and with your own judgement.
Whats the offset do you have on your car ? If you cut the fender where do yoy have to cut it could yoy make a tutorial video about that?
Yeah....I'll just trust the PROFESSIONALS on this & let them do my car for me bro😂😂😂
😬
Is your hood vicrez aswell?
No that is oem
Ok cool. I’m in Houston y’all doing any car shows in San Antonio? I’d really like to see your car in person...
The only event I have planned is we are mopar. We will be giving ride alongs on the bfgoodrich autocross course. September 3-5. Texas motor speedway.
By then the car will be OEM widebody. Those videos will start dropping soon.
@@TIRADORACING 10-4 cool bro.
I honestly don’t go to car shows lol if I do go to cars and coffee at COTA, dripping or San Antonio I’ll go in the Daytona or the Q50. But that’s honestly it for me. I keep the car track ready most of the time
Great info. Too bad they advertise this kit as a perfect fit. Far from it. They could have formed the front flares better.
Get some hubcentric wheel spacers
I got oem demon wheels.....
Nice kit but why not just add an insulation rubber piece like they do on the vw bugs fenders. The kit is never perfect....
Honestly you don’t need it... it’s pretty close to oem. If you add a rubber insulator it’s going to create more space between the flare and the contact surface. It’ll make the flare be further away from the body.
It’s been a while now and I have a couple of autox days on the car out in the Texas summer weather and their still on there.
Use duct tape to hold them tight till they dry
That’s a good idea lol well the car is getting custom flares done up now so these gaps will be gone in a month or two.
Your ig???
My IG is @tiradoracing !
Can’t you get a moped kit ? I used to hate that you pay 80k for a redeye widebody and then mopar offers half the parts on new cars to make other challengers look like red eyes and demons,I felt like what’s the point in feeling like your part of a small group ,if everyone can pretend to be in it for a 1/2 the price..now it’s like who cares as long as each person enjoys themselves
A mopar kit would be replacing the entire rear quarters and front fenders. I bought mopar front fender flares to try and do the swap but it’s 10x harder. Each flare has 30 clips that seat into the fender and rear quarter.
Secondly. The amount of time and money spent on the engine, transmission, interior etc.... didn’t make sense for me to go out and buy a scat pack widebody and start from scratch.
Your viewing it as people can “pretend” to be a part of a group of high performance cars.
In my case I never said I was trying to be Hellcat or demon
The added cooling benefits of the Hellcat bumper and hood are UNDENIABLE. So why would I cut holes in my bumper and old hood when I could easily slap the new ones on and allow more air flow in my engine compartment.
You see it as someone playing pretend, I see it as a way to make my track oriented challenger faster and cooler.
I’m not denying you of your viewpoint, it’s yours. I’m just letting you know why I did what I did. Wider wheels, more grip, Hellcat body modifications more cooling, things don’t break anymore.
These are quite expensive for what you get, horrible fitment, looks good if it would stay, I think they could have been formed better for a better fit
to make it look good and to make it stay is all about the prep and installation. If you ask me personally, you get what you pay for....
I purchased oem flares before this and the oem flares really don’t work unless you have widebody fenders and rear quarter panels for them to snap into. On top of that the front and rear bumpers also have grooves for the flares to sit into. And that’s the best way to get the nice tight oem look.
But that’s new fenders, new rear quarter panels, front and rear bumpers, plus the flares. I had it priced out and it came out to almost 11k with labor to install and after paint.
So when you compare the price of oem, to aftermarket I would say you get what pay for. Just my .2. For right around 1k bucks after paint and labor to install you can make it look decent. Some have made it look really good!
Go 150 see what happens
I did… on Netflix. Drive hard the Maloof way episode 1.
Shortly after filming I changed it to oem widebody. But it held up!
Always tape never glue, glue destroys your paint job if you need to remove it. Tape works perfect if the product you are installing fits correctly and isnt mass produced junk
Idk, a lot of people has successfully used this kit.
And yes glue will destroy the paint, but I (as in personal preference here) cut and lowered my car for the wheels and tires to clear the original body lines. So I had 0 intentions of taking it off or ever going back to a narrow body.
You gotta remember that when you watch these videos, their not an end all be all. I’m just documenting my journey. If you don’t like it don’t do it.
I wish you luck with that kit but IMHO, I think it's garbage. I think you are going to have issues with the top of the front fenders pulling away from the quarter panel. Even with that 3M glue, I've see this kit pull away from the front quarter panel once this kit is exposed to the elements. Heat and cold will cause it to expand and contract which will make it pull away.
Been 1 month of daily driving in the rain, Texas sun, Texas cold sprouts, spirited driving, even some “high” speed tests at the local track.
So you wishing me luck has paid off! I’ll keep posting videos as things change.
I have learned that it’s best to sand the paint so the glue has something to hang on to. It’s also best to apply in a controlled environment where all elements, the car, the flares and the glue are the same temperature. Which I did not do 😖(yikes!)
So I foresee some issues in the future as for now I’ll keep driving it and when the time comes I’ll fix any imperfections! All part of playing with cars man!
