    I'm really considering one of these here in the states, I've been obsessed ever since they released here, probably going to get a 2017-18 most likely the only years I'll be able to afford lol. Love the color of yours. Thanks for the content.

    As I'm finally back into the Alfa seat after a 40 year hiatus, I am very much enjoying your videos. Dreams of bigger, faster and more powerful things to come, but in the mean time I am loving my 2005 147 Ti 2l Manual more than most can imagine. Alfa Romeo is definitely the car for me, a little unique, somewhat troublesome at times, but looked after, bound to give you many klm's of joy. Previous Alfa was the 1.8 Alfetta - Boxer Engine, twin Del Orto - 1976? that was back in 1982. .

    I have a 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. I replaced the OEM Corso tires at about 8,400 miles. In snow and in rain, I found the Corso tires too dangerous. I'm on my 2nd set of Pilot Sport 4S. I put 255 35 19's in the front and 295 30 19's in the rear. No issues, no rubbing, and better overall ride than from the OEM Corso tires.

    Hi Ed, the larger size P4S's look really great fitted on your car. Some videos from USA youtubers have shown the rear tyre to bulge out slightly compared to OE size. Thats a look I personally don't like and not sure why theirs do and yours dont?. I am therefore likely to swap my Michelin Pilot Super Sports for the P4S's next time round. Its good to have someone like yourself talking about the day to day experience of owning this car. Mine too is a daily driver just coming up 10k miles in a year. Its been reliable and is a wonderful car, both to own and drive. Its puzzling why more people have not bought this car, but in a way, it makes it gratifying not to see QF's everywhere - like you do the 'M' cars, and RS's etc..

    Another great video Ed. I managed to get the right sized MPS4S' in March from Camskill but nowhere has stock now. Agree, they're a great tyre. May try the GY Eagle F1 Super Sports next and compare them, as they're supposed to be comparable, plus cheaper and easier to source right sizes. For others looking at winter tyres, the Sottozeros are very good but I run Michelin Alpins currently and they're fantastic in the cold, wet and ice.
    Keep up the good work.

    I put Michelin Pilot A/S 3 on my car, but they don't make the A/S 4 or if the 3 is still available, but if they are I highly recommend them IF you want long life, great grip, and better comfort at the expense of a little loss of sharpness in steering and handling. I live in California so don't need all-season, but they are terrific and look great too.

    I don’t have a Giulia QV, just a TI sport Q4, but I put pilot sport 4s on my car and it made it handle as if it was on rails. I love scaring people by pulling insane Gs through every corner. Really does improve the car, I love michelins.

      Best tyres currently on the market IMHO. Lots of grip in the wet and progressive in the dry. Really confidence inspiring. The Q4 is all you really need on the road. The QV is way too much but it’s a itch I just had to scratch. 😁 Ed

    hi Ed. TBH I don'r really get it why Alfa made this car RWD. Losing grip has never been easier..And as a result it's almost impossible to achieve claimed 3.9s 0-62 which makes it far behind competition in this field. Most people rather get repeatable ~4.5sec as I see. Furthermore, a standard 2.0 Giulia comes with an AWD which is actually also RWD but with the front drivetrain that adds along when needed. Result - with a slight tune, You can make 4.2-4.3sec 0-62, which is actually the same as the top QV model, but for a half the price. And You don't need most expensive tires either. Just my 5cents ;)

    • @Back_Road_Hero
      @Back_Road_Hero  Год назад

      Yes agreed. However it’s not all about off the line. I’m more concerned about mid range acceleration anyway and the Giulia with any engine is superb. Ed

    • @k_s.m
      @k_s.m Год назад

      @@Back_Road_Hero yes sure, off the line is an example. But again, 1/4 Mile qv makes in around 11.5sec, whereas people posting on 2.0 forum, make 1/4 in 12.5sec on Veloce, after a slight tune. I know these are only numbers, but I'm simply surprised that Alfa didn't decide to make a bigger gap between these two models. QV should stand out a bit more in my opinion. cherrs Ed, great car for sure!

    I personally think the overly bulbous rear tyres don’t look very good i am sorry to say.
    I couldn’t get PS4s in the right sizes as there didn’t make them when I bought my tyres. Having had PS4s on various cars and done many miles on both track and road they were my first choice. I tried Goodyear Supersports instead as it’s also a UHPT and they are certainly comparable, actually better in a few key places so I’d certainly recommend those in oem sizes before changing the tyre sizes.
    Did you check on other issues like speedo accuracy etc?

    Good video, but, from an Italian I must tell you that the pronunciation of Quadrifoglio is wrong, you have a good italian accent, but you said “Quadrifolio” non “Quadrifoglio”
    “gli” is a particular pronunciation, (more similar to a j)
    To hear the correct pronunciaton you can listen in on google translate but even better if you open an italian video of the Giulia Quadrifoglio to hear an autentic pronunciation.

    • @Back_Road_Hero
      @Back_Road_Hero  2 года назад

      The factory tyres are Pirelli Corsas. These are a dedicated summer tyre and are severely compromised in wet weather. The MPS4S is probably one of the best all rounder currently on the market. Hope this helps? Ed
