There’s an application for pc that you can use called epic pen. There’s a free version and a paid version. I’m sure the free version is more than enough. It lets you draw onto your current screen which will let you better illustrate your words. Instead of generally gesturing towards a certain area with your mouse you could use epic pen to draw a visible square or circle to further help with your point. Really good video, regardless.
This video that you made is so helpful! Everyone is patiently awaiting your future videos. It will be amazing once you get to the aiming sections! I understand that it's an overwatch guide but I'm actually watching it for COD, R6 and other fps game tips. If you ever want to put in more tips that apply to all games that would be amazing!!
Best video I have seen on positioning! btw, I wanted to let you know that I have made a workshop map that makes showing concepts like the ones in this video a lot easier. The gamemode allows you to place any hero anywhere on the map. Pair this with the replay viewer and you are able to see from the perspective of any of the placed heroes. This will eliminate the need to photoshop in images of heroes like you have with the corners example at 8:32, the off-angle/flanking example at 13:14, and the repositioning example at 16:35. It will also become even more useful when explaining full team positioning in the future, and may even be useful when doing one-on-one coaching by having the coachee in spectator view while you manipulate the heroes on the board. It is currently available on the PTR using the code: ARWR8
FEEDBACK: *Excellent content. Laying out a concept and then following up with an example is a great way to ensure viewer comprehension. *The way you use your examples is also very good. Engraving the concept of positioning deeper and deeper in our minds by showing increasingly competent players. *You speak in a calm and not-too-slow-not-too-fast manner, but a bit robotic (loosen up!, but could also just be my preference). *The format is long, but that's alright. This is an in depth show into Overwatch, so it should be long. A small idea is to maybe put a TLDR in the description. *The background noise was noticeable, but not too distracting. *Audio was good. Editing was nice and simple, which makes your voice the main content of the video. I never give feedback to RUclips videos, but I loved this so much that I wanted it to improve through feedback. Thanks for starting this show and good luck in the future ioStux!
@@krisdang or it could be for bronze players, as the title suggests this series will help players of all ranks, so he has to start the series with basics and fundamentals.
I'm a master player and this was really interesting and informative. The problem with most of us stuck in our tiers is we believe we know everything. We are so quick to blame everyone else for our losses but so blind when realising that even though we had a good game, it was never 'perfect' or 'flawless'... You will always have room for improvements! Once you discover how to make the best out of every situation possible, your consistency will improve. Once you earn your consistency in staying alive, shielding/healing and pumping out damage, you become so valuable to not only yourself, but your team also. People in game chat will tell you how you went wrong when you die. The problem is, usually it comes across toxic and we disregard it, whereas sometimes it does hold a lot of truth. Try not to let it affect you. Learn from it and grow. Yes, people can be assholes when trying to teach you, but it's okay. They're just a bad teacher. This guy in the video though? Amazing teacher. Good luck in your games everyone!
I'm not good at OW, hence why I am watching this vid, but in other games where I'm better at this is a _huge_ problem I am responsible of too. There's so many factors that can decide a game, so focusing on what you're teammates could do is stupid as you can't control them, nor do you know the reasoning behind what they did. Instead think of what _you_ could've done to change the outcome of the game. If they were bad or had an off day, you should've put more effort it. It doesn't sound logical on paper, but it'll do you much better if you thought about this, instead of hating on something you can't change. Yet, this doesn't apply to every game or match, but I still found it helpful. TLDR: Hating on your teammates isn't effective as you can't change them. Although you can change yourself, and you should put more effort into analyzing what you did wrong, not on your teammates.
Huh, I’m sorry I can’t hear you from masters *hears in the shadows of a plat that used to be masters* “If you want to be a higher rank *cough* *cough* adopt a better mindset and play more comp” *coughs and dies*

I watched the first 10 minutes of this video, jumped into a game to apply what I had learned so far and it was the best game i've ever had. I only died a couple times all game, I had high damage because I was always alive during team fights. My aim wasn't insane like I normally focus on but I was way more effective because I was present in the fights. I'm looking forward to this whole series!! Thanks ioStux!

Thank you so much for this series. It’s exactly what I was looking for. There are so many click-baiting videos out there that essentially say ‘git gud’. They are undoubtedly good players but are very ineffective at explaining what they are doing, unlike you.
I have totally learned from this and I'm less than 20 min in. The concept of backing away from a ledge to create cover is something I've never thought about.

This is the best OW video on the internet that I've seen to date. Moving on to video 2!
Io this was incredibly informative and well explained. Honestly this is a great way for people to learn the fundamental basics of this game since a lot of the playerbase seems to lack it. To some degree, I've educated myself with videos such as this, but sometimes it's hard to apply concepts from them since not everyone is on the same page. Sometimes I have to sacrafice good positioning because my team is positioned poorly: it upsets me because all the things I learn almost entirely get thrown out the window because If it. IMO OW needs some official tutorials that have the same polish such as this so that the playerbase can actually learn the game well so that we are all on the same wavelength (or close to it as possible)
Excellent tips, love your style! Especially helpful for players who play overwatch but do not have a fps background where they may not have had the chance to learn these skills. looking forward for more episodes :)
