As a casual with no alts and who plays no other wow version, I am very happy with phase 4 They have made all dungeons relevant (undermine real AKA WO 2.0 was a success) We have the Tier 0.5 questline at a time when it is actually worth doing. The Blackrock event (AKA incursions 2.0) is a success without making everything else obsolete The doom and gloom is not just pointless but unjustified You can't find people at low levels? Maybe because people have already leveled all their alts to 50+ after a long and boring phase 3? Population is down compared to phase 1? That was raiding characters. of course people will not raid with their 6 alts as they did in phase 1. They have their main and at most 1 alt. The rest are maybe prof slaves. And some people just quit because sod is not their style. If phase 4 peaks an 25% of original "population", that could be about as many actual players as in phase 1. The new items and sets are actually good. PVP ranking is nowhere near as toxic as in classic, reps are easy and fun and actually worth grinding. As for molten core, we all know what it is. What do you expect? A complete remake, maybe all bosses changed and a new map to top it off? Get real. Sod might not be for you. I myself could not go back to classic after this. This is just way more fun. And no, I don't like retail. As long as there are no flying mounts, resilience, dungeon teleporter and obsolete content, I'm OK. This is nothing like retail. In fact it's less retail than "classic" is at it's current state
SOD in phase 4 is the most fun I’ve had with wow since classic launch. Classes feel so engaging and fun to play, lots of different goals to go for per class, raids not challenging but no one playing classic really want that they want to get loot with their friends and not beat their head into the wall for 4 hours on raid night. This is the most active I have seen my guild and server ever in SOD even phase 1 which everyone has dumb rose tinted goggles for. If you left SOD and are thinking about coming back, I really suggest it it’s in a good state right now.
The most healthy community in Classic is Hardcore, everyone's chill, there are no absurd standards as everyone understands you may have to go off-meta to not get your character killed and the zones are always popping. Retail is also really healthy right now too, DF really saved Retail from imploding and everyone's hyped for the upcoming expansion.

P4 is the best fun. Both feral and resto are very fun to play in pve and pvp. FR based mechanic opens new facets and it’s great working on t0.5 bc it’s finally worth it
"Maybe because of how toxic the WoW community is, we actually deserve for Blizzard to treat us so badly." DING DING DING WE HAVE A WINNER!! Either Blizzard is demotivated to do their best for us or it's karma coming back to bite us in the bum, either way we don't deserve respect when we act the way we do.
I think this is also being overly negative. I actually had mostly great experiences with people in Classic and SOD so far. Most guilds don't fuss about with gearscore at all, and honestly, for PUGs it's fair that there is some gatekeeping because it is already a chore to manage a pug. Just run some of your own pugs to feel that pain. If you don't like gearscore, just join a guild.
In phase 2, where melee classes were suffering and elitism was on an absurd high level, I solved the problem of not getting a group very easily following Ziqo's video... I just made my own PUGs, advertised as a chill no pressure group, and usually the runs were quite smooth. Elitism exists and it is a big problem... but as long as you refuse to be part of that group you will find people to play with.
@@MetaGoblin For EU its 2 locked and every other server is on medium, thats more than enough people and far ayway from dead. Dont know what you are expecting but for seasonal content that will be done in 6-9month thats pretty good.
@@Messametti Blizzard put them on "medium" even when they're dead. 2 decently populated servers per region the real data is on ironforge pro. In 2 months lookingforgroup chat will be dead I'm willing to bet my left testicle on it 😂
It's time to admit that Classic WoW private servers like Nostalrius were SO MUCH better than the Classic that Blizzard offered us nowadays. A single server with 10K active players and no significant gold inflation? Players everywhere in every zone. Non-stop raiding and dungeons. Non-stop open world PVP. Thriving auction house and trading community. Almost no bots and cheaters. In retrospect it was WAY too good to be true. Perhaps even BETTER than the Vanilla of circa 2005. I'm so glad I got to experience it at one point.
I raided in Classic Era for 1.5 years prior to diving into SoD, and I am having an absolute blast playing P4. Not all the decisions in SoD have been great (by any means), but I love how classes play at endgame, and individual servers feel alive. Over on the Whitemane cluster of Era servers, you get the feeling that these 4 year old servers are going strong and are super active. Raids are going on throughout the day (even in the mornings on a random thursday). But the overall raiding population of all Era servers is just 17k. SoD's raiding population is a far cry from the highs in Phase 1. But on Lone Wolf-US the server feels - dare I say - "thriving". I think you just need a couple thousand active players on any given server and you can have a great experience.
I think the numbers on warcraft logs are wildly misleading. Everyone I knew in P1 was raiding on multiple alts. Currently in my guild at 60 we've still been grinding dungeons and havent even stepped foot in raids yet so wouldn't even be shown on the logs. I think the population right now is not as doom and gloom as you have made out but it's not going to be what it was on P1.
I feel like everyone in the comments is mad you’re telling them the game they’re playing is bad right now 😂😂 he’s not telling you to not play SoD, he’s just explaining the reasons behind why SoD isn’t performing well. That’s like getting mad at the news because they told you a storm is about to happen in your town
As I said before, at its core, The issue with SoD that killed it in the last two phases is the same thing that made it so amazing in the first two. The phasing of the leveling brackets. As all the new ideas, interesting content, etc, is going to be similar in all 3 additional phases. So it’s going to look and feel stale. It made the cool ideas that could have come in one pass slow and boring and samey in the following phases cause it’s more of the same. It sucks but that’s just how something like this is gonna go. It would have been better if it was 2 phases with multiple raids at the end of phase 1 and the new phase 3 raids happening at 60 in phase 4. It would be a lot better and it would feel like there’s much more content. Sadly gotta learn it thr hard way sometimes I guess.
It is 1/6 of the raid logs compared to P1. The question is always have many players do upload their raid logs compared to the overall player base. Let's look at regular classic, according to ironforge wotlk classic had the most players, due to most logs of raids. But do you really think wotlk classic had more players than the classic launch 2019? I highly doubt that. In vanilla classic most did not even post their logs to warcraftlogs since raids were so easy. My guess is that a lot of players who just raid H1 don't upload any logs at all. Also 50-60 takes a lot longer than 1-25 and some players even quit after P1 so they have to level from 25-60 which means they probably haven't reached 60 yet or are just reaching 60. I don't think we have the same player count as during P1, but 5 layers at 2 am is still quite good (Wild Growth EU). I mean retail prepatch just launched same with Cata Classic P2. So SoD population is still quite good if you take that into account. I don't even raid in P4 and still have fun running dungeons (farming reals) doing pvp, leveling twinks. For some reason raiding is not a lot of fun for me anymore.
The worst part about classic wow is the community. You have this fun and chill game from 2004 and the people who play it treat it more seriously than their actual jobs
I am sorry but you have clearly decided to not like SOD and are now just using numbers badly to reinforce your opinion. You usually do much better analysis than this. The graph isn’t population. It’s the number of characters raiding. I raided with 8 different level 25 characters in phase 1. Now I raid with 1 in phase 4. Many people will have been raiding each week on at least 3 in phase 1. So take that graph and reduce the phase 1 numbers down by 2/3. Now the graph shows roughly how many main characters were raiding, and that we currently have raider numbers that are about 1/3 of launch raiders. Has there been any classic launch that doesn’t follow this pattern? Once a server isn’t fresh it loses 2/3 of its population over a year. Nothing special here. SOD is performing at a typical level.
I raided with 5-6 characters on p1. 3 in p2. 1 in p3 and 1 in p4. Attunes, T0.5, resistance gear farming, reputation grinding restricts to 1 character MC/Ony atm if you are no hardcore 24/7 player. Meta is so far off the mark with his SOD videos. You can clearly see that he depends on some numbers and graphs instead of his own first hand experience.
5:45 is why i stopped in phase 2, i had 4 chars at 25. the guild i was in. said they wouldnt let me join any raids anymore, go pug, only 1 officer told me why. because i used the wrong aura on first 1 boss, on a class i never played before, as paladin.
Wish people would stop calling the devs lazy for SoD changes and implementations. Let’s keep pushing the boundaries on what is enjoyable in classic for this temporary seasonal server and save the good shit for Classic+ yeah?
I played SoD up until lvl 20 ,cleared BFD 1 time and never logged on again and never will ,Growing up when i had no money for retail sub i played on every single private server you can name .if i wanted to play on a funserver i would go back there .The whole idea of mixing spells/builds was invented long long time ago its nothing new and nothing that can catch my attention ,once again Blizzard milked the community and showed how little they actually care about the game and what players really wanted( Classic + ) I can't speak for the population ,only my opinion but claming "SOD is trash or Cata is trash "is just retarded ,you like what you like and you don't what you don't its that simple . I grew up with WoW ,have tons of memories but sadly i can see the end of the tunnel ,After Cata is over ,more likely than not my WoW Journey will come to an end more so that Retail is rather boring and poorly designed for me .
Personally I haven’t ran MC in over 3 years so I have been enjoying it. I understand people that play the game for a living making content etc that played era and SoM being a little tired of it but that is not my experience.
@@Wanheda90-d7wI mean Goblin gave a disclaimer at start that's not the goal of the video. Just give us classic with expanded zone lore and quests, dire maul should be more than just 2 dungeons, where's all the lore from the ancient past? Also, I find animations a huge immersion breaker when they are janky, I find most classic animations BETTER than retail animations, old animations had weight, newer animations are disneyfied.
TBH. phase 1 was always a lvl phase, and finaly to reach max lvl and start the raid rotation we are basicly on phase one now. PPl got tierd of lvling alts in other phases before. but now, after the *main char had all done* u have time to pull them up. D0.5 is amazing specially for hybrid classes . sure it´s feels a bit of lack of daylis :D but over all u could say. SOD just starded. ah jeah and retail andy´s are going for TWW i mean we all will check it out in stream or videos.
I took a break early in p3 and came back when mc came out I still have fun so does my gf but we are super casual parent gamers. I feel a lot of classic players grind everything out super quick then have nothing to do causing burnout. It's a shame because I feel like if p4 launched a month or 2 earlier it would have kept more players interested. Cata release really damaged the production pipeline and split a lot of players off sod. Cata is now stale but I'm sure they sold a lot of tokens and level boosts. Which funds more sod dev time but too little too late? Maybe time for a server merge
Sod has been interesting and to say it’s dead I think is a bit of n exaggeration. In classic plus many of the new flavour elements will be removed ie.. melee hunter, healer mage, warlock tank shaman tank rogue tank. Other changes need to remain Enhance dps, ret pal, prot pal, hpal, rogue changes, etc should in some shape or form be brought over to classic plus. Spriests are in a fantastic spot. Some things just have not worked though ie boomkin balance. I’m not hating on sod it’s in a state to really try things out - I’d be encouraging people to give it a go.
"Everyone is back on SoD" - 90% of players have quit (Refer to population charts & warcraftlogs) - A huge amount of players went back to Classic Era. SoD legit saved Classic Era which is so funny. - StaySafe (Pretty popular Classic WoW Streamer) stopped streaming it - TheComeBackKids (Very popular RUclips Channel with heavy SoD Coverage) stopped making videos on it - WillE Made a video saying Phase 4 isn't enough to bring him back (evidenced by him only being lvl 52 after 2+ weeks) - MetaGoblin (Pretty popular RUclipsr whos video you just watched & commented on, who has covered SoD alot since release) is constantly saying how shit it is - I've quit covering it (Average RUclipsr who has been covering SoD daily since launch) & Constantly saying how terrible it is and highlighting the many mistakes Blizzard have made. SoD is so good man *takes a massive hit of copium*

It’s been a while, I think people aren’t so stupid to understand that The whole classic thing is to keep as many people in the blizzard ecosystem as possible… classic doesn’t generate enough profit to be worth investing… Classic community is full of overage 30+ people who are not interesting group for profits… Blizzard could, but they won’t because making a winged horse mount will generate more money than whole year of classic subscriptions… That’s why SoD looks more like retail because they’re trying to attract younger audiences… audiences who are willing to spend money on micro transactions… They run classic era, cata etc just because it’s done, they just need more people there so it’s worth running the servers… again just to keep people in their ecosystem… and possibly move to retail especially when TWW launches… 🤷🏻♂️ If there’s gonna be new classic + or whatever classic iteration then if it’s under-developed as SoD, it will fail and if they invest more into development then it will have modern elements and micro transactions… 🤷🏻♂️ It’s all business… blizzard still employ lots of people who are there just because of Warcraft… Lots of employees are underpaid and work overtime more than is healthy… Check some interviews with ex-employees… lots of them say they love Warcraft but they had to leave because they sometimes doubled their salaries… I’m so curious how the whole thing will move forward under Microsoft and the new union…
I played through phase 3 but lost interest as I was leveling for phase 4. I agree the community attitudes toward raiding was the main factor in my decision to stop playing SoD. Beyond the community factor, SoD feels more grindy than even original Classic WoW. I did not want to grind out the reps, tier .5 set plus the runes only to do the same raids all over again with people I just didn’t enjoy raiding with. Glad so many are enjoying it but it’s not for everyone.
Fresh sounds great, but many of us don't want to play the same stuff over again. I agree that SOD went too far with what they did (including Josh Greenfield's beloved friction). The next season that Blizzard does for vanilla should be light on changes, light on friction, and adding more content, imo. Vanilla definitely needs better class balance, not nightmare incursion farms for froggers, but more questlines and reasonable activities. Thumbs up for helping to push the game forward.
1. Megaserver technology needs to become the standard. Dying realms are so annoying. 2. Raids need to be more about prep, and less about insane sweaty mechanics inside. The raiding scene died for most after Gnomergon. BT was too much and I think it killed momentum. 3. More solo challenges! Challenging content should always be for solo-small group content to prevent despising other players and the grouping system. No one wants to waste others time!
I play on crusader strike NA, regardless of what data says, the server is very much alive but only at the end game. I blame no one but players for the reason why low level dungeons and zones are dead because they're the ones who invented boosting which is the meta way to level and have been for the past 5 years. It's even crazier on SOD with how OP classes are. It doesn't personally affect me as I am just sitting at level 60 but unless you're okay with a dead world and no dungeons to level from 1 to 60 or just boosting your character then it's an awful MMO experience. Maybe blizzard can kill boosting again by heavily reducing the xp gained if you're in a group with a level 60 to fix it but still, it is just player behavior. I don't mind doing Molten core again. Do I want a whole new raid that I've never done? yes. Is that enough for me to not play SOD rn? no. The classic WOW dev team admitted in interviews that they're too small and barely get any support for us to expect anything ambitious and only now that things are changing and theyre getting more support, and I'm okay with that for now. I think as long as molten core doesn't last for too long like sunken temple, It's fine for now. I also think the new dungeon was smart and pretty good, only complain I have about it is how useless it is for casters loot wise. The whole getting pre-bis, FR gear, reals farming, BRE event ect has been super fun as well. The whole GS thing was pure cancer pugging in phase 1 but honestly, I've been in a guild for a while now and I think playing in a chill group of people is the best way to play SOD or any MMO really. Nobody cares about your logs, nobody cares about your gear. Not sure if phase 4 pugs still do that shit but my advice for people is just join a guild, it can be just a casual guild clearing heat 1-2 if that's your limit and that's better than trying to pug. Overall, I think SOD is in an okay state right now, much better than it was in phase 3. Yes, a lot of us expected way more than this but that's all gonna be in the real classic+ cause we all know that SOD is just a beta for that, and for what it is, and what it offers rn, it's good to play IMO.
I think its obvious to anyone with 2 braincells that phase 4 isnt terrible but at the end of the day once you get preraid bis, a bit of gold and maybe some fire resistance gear. 80-90% of the player base will quit or raid log only untill phase 5. Not saying its a bad patch im fully enjoying it and have so much content i havent even gotten around to start leveling an alt.
@@alikhairuldeen8312 Even if we do say that BWL and next few raids are not phases on the original blizzcon roadmap that shows phases it shows a final phase 5 of updated classic content (which will be new raid etc) which is most definently a phase also in OG classic new raid releases were all considered phases so i think the point stands
5 minutes in LFG chat on Cata tells you all you need to know about the mentality of the average player. You always expect to see some wild trolls in chat from time to time but it’s literally all day.
Not sure where you get your player data but playing on an OCE server its thrinving, always dungeons and raids running, pvp etc. People now have a reason to run more end game content. I personally enjoy a lot of the new class changes and actually being able to play the spec I enjoy rather than sticking to the very limited meta. I don't understand all these people whinging about changes, too many changes, not enough changes, not the changes they wanted. I havent enjoyed wow in years but sod has actually been enjoyable especially for those with families and full time work etc.
Their decision to vary the raid sizes throughout the phases was a bad move. First two phases were good, then phase 3 killed it. All guilds were trying to recruit at once, mergers, felt like we got rushed out of phase 2, etc. Not to mention the gimmicky leveling in ph3 that turned a lot of people off. I unsubbed towards the end of phase 3 when attendance was dwindling when you’d think there would be excitement for ph4, but no. They had a decent formula for phase 1 and 2, and then they decided to get cute and fumble it, sad.
sod is not perfect and i would much rather have classic+ but atm sod in early p4 sod is good fun, but i think its been carried hard by how amazing end game content the 0.5 questline brings.. if just stuff where more dificult, im talking the dungeons and maybe some of the quests..
"I feel bad for players who have invested 6 month in a game" if you play a game as a some sort of investment for future is bad. That is the problem with the classic community they view it as some kind of job. I enjoy sod, when i ll stop enjoying i ll stop playing fullstop. Games are entertainment not chores if it dies it dies but rn the game is alive and well
And this is the problem with mmos now. Their unique selling point was to be able to live a second life in a virtual world. Now that people look at mmos like a pump and dump game instead of a game you invest into long term the whole market is suffering because the devs produce crap.
If you don't like SOD, that's fine, but why convince others who do like SOD to not like it? What does this achieve? I enjoy it, phase 4 is fun. Would you feel better if you convince me not to like it? SOD is definitely not perfect, and even the engineers behind it admit that SOD is mainly to experiment for Classic + later on.
Season of Discovery is just taking classic and giving it a retail spin. But we don't play classic for a retail experience. When you focus everything around a single instance and metagame you're just recreating retail, especially when you turn dungeons into raids and 40 man raids into 20 mans All while invalidating the sandbox elements of classic that made people actually want to spend time in the world, farming arcanite, devilsaur leather, quarji scales, ect. They completely abandoned these open world activities, made them invalid by making overtuned raids with gear that makes world content obsolete. Blizzard in its current state are just creatively inept, they seem like they can't design anything that isn't a copy pasted linear timegated skinnerbox. Contrast this to 2004 blizzard who created molten core in a weekend with a team of like 5 guys. And thats kind of the issue that breeds elitism. When you create a singlular goal and lock it behind sweaty content, it breeds a sweaty playerbase who just want to speedrun everything, hence the parsing/gearscore culture and alienation of the casual playerbase.
The community is pure dog water, by the time my Classic guild fell apart shortly before TBC I started looking around for another chill guild that would be fun but damn was every single guild just full of shitters because "that's the game"
I like all the "SoD p4 is great so far" comments. No shit the first couple of weeks after hitting 60 are great, farming prebis and such. Wait another 3 weeks and lets see
The "numbers" presented here are hardely usable. Phase 1 parses saw people on the same account raiding on multiple characters and logging with them. That went down with each phase because it's got harder to keep up with each alt. I'd also like to add that my guild (possibly others too) had difficulties loading logs in the first week. Couldnt upload Onyxia the first two kills. Numbers are likely lower now than they were in Phase 1 but not nearly as catastrophically as presented here. Capitals are buzzing, the bulletin board (addon) is filled well even on week days and the auction house is full of goods. Showing empty starter zones when most people are focused on their lvl 60 Main characters is a questionable decision as well. Criticizing the current lvl 60 content is fair but remind you: The classic team is small. Really small. DFC is a good example: They used an existing area and filled it with mobs. The bosses are moderately difficult though with mechanics you can't ignore. Onyxia and Molten Core (Heat 1) are easy to get through. I get the disappointment of content not being difficult. But the developers communicated multiple times that they want raiding to be accessible. I don't get the surprised pikachu face reactions about the difficulty of SoD raids. The best about P4 yet (for me) are the coins earned in dungeons. Dungeons are being run constantly and being kept alive that way which is great.
Two reasons sod/classic wont last or be popular. 1. Sod is too hard 2. No lfd in 2024 is out of the question. Most people don't have all day to find a group .
Its time we realize and accept this game is dead. Its become to repetitive. We want something new and exciting. And we don't want to have to chase a new level of gear every week. Maybe new rare abilities and or spells that could be rare and make us unique???!!! Other than that the redundancy of wow makes it dead to ms.
I'll be real people don't mind objective and reasons why something is bad and needs improving and how to improve it. But you seem to just rip on the game pretty harshly. I don't like sod as its not classic. But i respect alot of retail players do as its essentially retail. Good for them. Reality is the majority of classic players quit now and so the population is tanking. But still if people are enjoying it good for them. In my view, sod is bad because its bloated, too much like retail but retail people would love that. Its fair to say though if people saw it with honesty and you conveyed it respectfully then noone would get upset. The issue isn't the content it's your delivery, it comes across as negative, disingenuous and well a bit as mentioned disrespectful. Just because i don't like something doesn't mean everyone that does is a loser or doesn't have good taste, its just subjective. Ofcourse though this was meant to be 'classic' and it ended up like retail.. which is why so many people were so *no changes* for literally years. Now we can see why.. it's to prevent classic from getting too many changes and ended up like retail which is what they did.. lol If it ain't broken don't fix it.
As a casual with no alts and who plays no other wow version, I am very happy with phase 4
They have made all dungeons relevant (undermine real AKA WO 2.0 was a success)
We have the Tier 0.5 questline at a time when it is actually worth doing.
The Blackrock event (AKA incursions 2.0) is a success without making everything else obsolete
The doom and gloom is not just pointless but unjustified
You can't find people at low levels? Maybe because people have already leveled all their alts to 50+ after a long and boring phase 3?
Population is down compared to phase 1? That was raiding characters. of course people will not raid with their 6 alts as they did in phase 1. They have their main and at most 1 alt. The rest are
maybe prof slaves.
In fact it's less retail than "classic" is at it's current state
I feel the same. Cant even imagine going back to classic classic after SOD.

I've never commented on a wow video before but man.. whats up with your negativity? Sod is really good and much fun.
Everyone at blizzard, especially the DEI hires, need to be fired and they need to hire all new people.
...ok. it's a money printer. they care that it continues printing millions.
Ah yes, we can't hold game companies to any standard.
@@NightlionOwns I mean have we looked around in the community? We are hardly any better.
I did like the shaman/ warlock tank try though was a cool idea for sod
Gatekeeping and elitism. You are absolutely right on that bro
To answer this question: No! Best phase so far, servers are full with people.
4 servers ***
@@MetaGoblin For EU its 2 locked and every other server is on medium, thats more than enough people and far ayway from dead. Dont know what you are expecting but for seasonal content that will be done in 6-9month thats pretty good.
@@Messametti Blizzard put them on "medium" even when they're dead. 2 decently populated servers per region the real data is on ironforge pro.
In 2 months lookingforgroup chat will be dead I'm willing to bet my left testicle on it 😂
@@Wanheda90-d7w Ciao
Technically the servers are Medium not Full lol
I think the population right now is not as doom and gloom as you have made out but it's not going to be what it was on P1.
phase 4 has been a blast so far, luckily i have a tight knit guild who has been playinng together since 2019 classic but we're having a good time
I feel like everyone in the comments is mad you’re telling them the game they’re playing is bad right now 😂😂 he’s not telling you to not play SoD, he’s just explaining the reasons behind why SoD isn’t performing well.
10000% he just hates sod. Another RUclipsr I’m going to stop watching.
Meh this is cope. All you need to do is compare layer numbers from p1 to p4 and you will see it’s more like 1/5th the playerbase.

5:45 is why i stopped in phase 2, i had 4 chars at 25. the guild i was in. said they wouldnt let me join any raids anymore, go pug, only 1 officer told me why. because i used the wrong aura on first 1 boss, on a class i never played before, as paladin.
Phase 4 is popping off on my server! Having a great time
nonsense, my guilds having great fun, plus theres loads of people playing
My server is extremely active, you go to do dailies and its just a wave of ppl or if you look for a raid there is plenty doing them.
All these content been done for how many times..
Wish people would stop calling the devs lazy for SoD changes and implementations. Let’s keep pushing the boundaries on what is enjoyable in classic for this temporary seasonal server and save the good shit for Classic+ yeah?
You are right they arent lazy. They are just incompetent.
Its not dead lol. I though sod was over after phase 3 but phase 4 has been good.
@@Wanheda90-d7wI mean Goblin gave a disclaimer at start that's not the goal of the video. Also i mean sure poppin off in terms of raiders or lvl 60s but for a healthy population if newcomers cannot do low level content and runes its an F. Still hoping and praying this season was just a beta for Classic+. Pleeeeeeease!
1:40 Servers were merged.. so you don't have to restart a new character. The exp is literally TRIPLED (3x)... I'm in a guild with 900 people and 14 unique 20 mans that raid multiple time's a week.
I SHAT MY PANTS! OOH MY GOOOD
Best Phase so far.
My guild has much fun with the Raids and Dungeons.
Always Something to do with my Main or twinks.
TBH. phase 1 was always a lvl phase, and finaly to reach max lvl and start the raid rotation we are basicly on phase one now.
I had a lot of fun early on but I just cant get back into it. Pain in the ass getting runes for alts..
Other changes need to remain
Enhance dps, ret pal, prot pal, hpal, rogue changes, etc should in some shape or form be brought over to classic plus. Spriests are in a fantastic spot.
Some things just have not worked though ie boomkin balance.
I’m not hating on sod it’s in a state to really try things out - I’d be encouraging people to give it a go.
I pretty much disagreed with 90% of what you said. Not sure where this “majority” of players you speak of is coming from…

I still a lot of people around the world on my server. We have 4 plus phases pretty much daily.

They stalled P4 too long, this was the main reason in my opinion
Not sure character numbers are the same as raiding numbers. I had 5 alts raiding on phase 1 and only have 1 now.
It’s been a while, I think people aren’t so stupid to understand that The whole classic thing is to keep as many people in the blizzard ecosystem as possible… classic doesn’t generate enough profit to be worth investing… Classic community is full of overage 30+ people who are not interesting group for profits… Blizzard could, but they won’t because making a winged horse mount will generate more money than whole year of classic subscriptions…
That’s why SoD looks more like retail because they’re trying to attract younger audiences… audiences who are willing to spend money on micro transactions… They run classic era, cata etc just because it’s done, they just need more people there so it’s worth running the servers… again just to keep people in their ecosystem… and possibly move to retail especially when TWW launches… 🤷🏻♂️
If there’s gonna be new classic + or whatever classic iteration then if it’s under-developed as SoD, it will fail and if they invest more into development then it will have modern elements and micro transactions… 🤷🏻♂️
It’s all business… blizzard still employ lots of people who are there just because of Warcraft… Lots of employees are underpaid and work overtime more than is healthy…
Check some interviews with ex-employees… lots of them say they love Warcraft but they had to leave because they sometimes doubled their salaries…
I’m so curious how the whole thing will move forward under Microsoft and the new union…
They were able to pull me back in after so many years. But ehh.
Kinda want classic fresh ngl vanilla the bursty pvp and world pvp is unmatched and makes it even more immersive
Thumbs up for helping to push the game forward.
why am i awake
finna woke fam!
Funny how the same people that call SoD dead go play on Pservers with a 2k pop and call it a "healthy" server 😂😂
Well if those private servers started out with 1 million players 6 months ago then yes they would be considered dead with just 2k
Couldn't bring myself to try P4 after P3 just killed my will to play.
No one wants to waste others time!
dead lol? Orgrimar is full on 3-4 layers , servers are literally overpopulated
Stopped playing phases ago. Too many changes. Season 1 and 2 was more than enough.
My man with the Fable music again 👏🏽
Dang, you’re not kidding about the commenters. Lots of copium here.
People that have a different opinion than you are not 'coping'. People can actually like something that you don't like.
I think its obvious to anyone with 2 braincells that phase 4 isnt terrible but at the end of the day once you get preraid bis, a bit of gold and maybe some fire resistance gear. 80-90% of the player base will quit or raid log only untill phase 5.

I just couldn't stand the community.
No love for a casual like me 😢
I’m genuinely having so much fun in P4 atm. We did molten core, chillin with my raiders, having a great time and getting loot.
Buttons don't feel fun to press? Have you tried Rogue and Feral at 60?!?! Oh man, i am having a blast!
Idk im really enjoying sod. Im a classic andy though
Damn it Charlie! Using Fable OST is just unfair! Here, take your like from me!
I could make a vegan pizza that could 100% trick you just sayin.
sod is not perfect and i would much rather have classic+ but atm sod in early p4 sod is good fun, but i think its been carried hard by how amazing end game content the 0.5 questline brings.. if just stuff where more dificult, im talking the dungeons and maybe some of the quests..
SoD should be ended already. It‘s just a season after all
"I feel bad for players who have invested 6 month in a game" if you play a game as a some sort of investment for future is bad.
Now that people look at mmos like a pump and dump game instead of a game you invest into long term the whole market is suffering because the devs produce crap.
all u can eat pizza night.. sounds fkng awesome. u know how expensive vegan pizza is? obvi u dont
A lot of this seems like delusion. I have never seen people ask for GS.
Wild Growth EU is packed.
I quit in phaze 2, just a bunch of try hards, some people dont have time and liked era...but they couldnt leave that alone either.....
i just hope they bring fresh sooner then later.
this classic+ direction will never work out.
When you focus everything around a single instance and metagame you're just recreating retail, especially when you turn dungeons into raids and 40 man raids into 20 mans
All while invalidating the sandbox elements of classic that made people actually want to spend time in the world, farming arcanite, devilsaur leather, quarji scales, ect.
If the best part of your MMO is the endgame, you've missed the entire point of what vanilla is all about.
everyone already did the leveling on multiple toons. why would they redo it?
I think this Video was made way too early
The community is pure dog water, by the time my Classic guild fell apart shortly before TBC I started looking around for another chill guild that would be fun but damn was every single guild just full of shitters because "that's the game"
I like all the "SoD p4 is great so far" comments. No shit the first couple of weeks after hitting 60 are great, farming prebis and such. Wait another 3 weeks and lets see
Literally no one wants to deal with world buffs and half the population being bots.
1. Sod is too hard
2. No lfd in 2024 is out of the question. Most people don't have all day to find a group .
The game is shit imo, i don't play it but saying blizz should make the game bad is a wild take

Its time we realize and accept this game is dead. Its become to repetitive. We want something new and exciting. And we don't want to have to chase a new level of gear every week.
Now we can see why.. it's to prevent classic from getting too many changes and ended up like retail which is what they did.. lol
