Thank you for making this video showing the initial hesitation when activating the signals and the comparison between the cheaper CF18 relay and the SmartTap relay. I was looking through so many videos trying to decide whether or not to spend so much on a relay if it was still going to have the initial hesitation after installation. Thank you 🙏

What does it look like on the front since we dont have fog lights on the 2018. Post a video please!

I’ll get a short video together of what it looks like and post it in the next few days! Thanks!

hey thanks for the video! i just got a 2018 STi myself and was looking at this smarttap module. Did you leave the stock incandescent turn signals in your headlights or changed them to LEDs? Also, how come you bought the cheap $10 relay modules in the first place? What did you not like about the stock relay?

Congrats on the 20018 STi! Thanks for the questions. I changed out my front turn signals to LEDs as well (I even did the trunk lamp and the interior dome and map ones as well). Should be one of the most energy efficient STi's on the street when it comes to lighting now! Haha!
I knew that changing out the incandescent lamps to LEDs and leaving in the stock relay would cause hyperflash when using the turn signals, and that I needed to change the stock relay if I wanted them to flash at a normal rate. What I didn't know is that there was a slight hesitation when you first turn on the signal with the cheap one that I didn't like. Further research led me to the SmartTap module which works great! Hope that helps!
