Quynacredone violet is SOOO DELICIOUS! The colours are beautiful, and I love the swirling on the wet paper 💜❤💙🙏. You've inspired me to get out the inks again. Thanks for the video

I love this. I just ordered those white crayons and can't wait to try the wax resist. I also ordered the Staedtler sharpener. Thank you for mentioning the supplies. Your works were quite different from each other. The wax resist looked more free and had an appealing fuzzy look that I enjoy and the misket was indeed very crisp and clear which I also love. Art on the Brain thanks for that info, I wouldn’t have known🙂 fortunately it isn’t very old, just a few months. I might put a date on it so I’ll keep track.
Beautiful artwork! Thanks for creating the video. Don’t have much knowledge with watercolours but I was wondering why it was important to wet the paper first before applying your colours?
Hi & thank you! ♥️ It's called wet-in-wet painting and you really only do it with watercolors. You use it when creating washes...when you put colors on to wet paper, they bleed into each other and make amazing patterns. Also, different pigments spread out differently.
I love this video. I wonder if anyone can answer this for me. why would watercolors leave a grainy look? It works well here but if you wanted to paint skin it wouldn't look good anymore.
Claudia Finelle Hi Claudia! Thanks for the question. Not all colors granulate. You can test colors you would like to use for a skin tone by laying down paint wet-in-wet & allowing to dry. If it doesn't granulate, you can use it on a portrait. Although, I paint a lot of figures, and a bit of granualtion doesn't bother me...but I do usually paint in large format. Hope this helps!
Hi! Thanks for the question. The masking fluid will always pick up some of the pencil. Also, any watercolor that overlaps the pencil will at least partially obscure it, especially if the color is dark.

Jane Vincent I'm so glad you are going to give it a try! Have a great time. 😄 And enjoy that pencil sharpener...I still love mine!!

Very inspired after watching this beautiful video! Would this technique work with watered down acrylic paint? 🎨
Thank you, Olivia! I think it would probably work with watered down acrylics, but I have never tried it.
Great video!!! I have a question, could you leave the masking fluid on? Or do you have to remove it?
Thanks! ❤️ I would always remove the masking fluid soon after your paint dries.

I love this idea! I’ll be pulling out that masking fluid I bought and give it some use, thanks!
Have a great time with that! Just make sure it's not more than a year or two old or it won't come off the paper! 😊

Love, love this! What brand of masking fluid are you using? I can’t seem to find one with yellow tint.
Thank you! I can't remember what kind I used for this piece. But I believe Winsor & Newton makes a yellowish masking fluid.
There's also blue masking fluid.
Beautiful 😍
Does masking fluid have a scent? Awesome composition! 👏👏
Yes, it kind of stinks, actually. Whatever you do, don't get your nose too close to the bottle! 😂
Awesome and Beautiful 😍
Turbogittan Thank you so much 😊
Amazing. Subscribed.

Lovely video thanks for sharing
Wow!!!!

thank you so much for this video
my mum used to use wax for lightning effects when painting skies
I'd love to see how that works! ♥️
Can you use masking fluid over a pencil drawing and have it show just as well after you have used watercolor?
Hi! Thanks for the question. The masking fluid will always pick up some of the pencil. Also, any watercolor that overlaps the pencil will at least partially obscure it, especially if the color is dark.
🙏🏻❤️
Thank you for a wonderful Tutorial! Would you provide the name of the stencil book and source if you have it.
The book is called Japanese Stencil Designs by Andrew W. Tuer, published in 1967. It's very old, so it is probably out of print.
I inherited it from my husband's grandmother.
