Picking up the ROG STRIX 1660S to go with my RYZEN 5 ,16gb ddr4 build from 2018 i had a budget gpu until now. Which was fine but a covid19 winter is comin so GPU needs to keep up with the serious amount of Gaming which is about to unfold.. :D

@@varundobriyal5445 cus it will get a bios update in january,so it will support 5000 series cpu,so if you are going with 3600,get a b450 tomahawk,and you will be safe to upgrade in future,also 6000 cpu's wont be supported on the b550 or x570 mobos,so there is no real reason why you would buy b550

This is almost the exact build I'm about to be starting. Wanted to check on the mobo and see how it performs and it looks like it doesn't disappoint. I was worried about going with a cheaper price point vs a TUF gaming mobo. Saving a good bit by going with the MSI. The only things that really differ in what I'm planning is the case (I prefer to have an optical drive so I have to choose a case with a bay for that. And different ram (and 32gb). I think I'm going 1660 but not sure if Ti or Super. There was something oddly satisfying about watching this whole build start at scratch and come together piece by piece. Thank you!
Wow this is amazing. I'm getting the same MoBo with the 3600, but I'm getting a radeon 5600 GPU because I have a free-sync monitor and don't want the hassle. I'm getting a few parts for Christmas but will be spending $400 of my own coming up to $980. My biggest worry is cable management and knowing where to put everything, but I ordered a good case so it shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for the video!

fans come with built in controller from the tower case. but you have the option to connect these fans thru ARGB pin on the motherboard so you can control it by motherboard software. Not all cases with built in fans have this option. it will depend on the case that you will buy

Yeah it gives you decent FPS. The one I showed here was Mid to High COD warzone settings but if you optimize your graphic settings more..I gives you you a higher FPS ingame
@@Tuskabanana there was no peal off plastic from this cpu out of the box, i unboxed all parts before doing the video and i can confirm that coz i already replaced the stock fan with a better cooler and upon removing the stock fan, there was no plastic on it or even a burnt plastic😉
Got that m/b yesterday, but it will be a while before I have all the components. Would like a 5500 for my GPU, & a 3600 CPU. Might use deepcool case fans, as they have a good cfm rating. Is there a special way to set up the BIOS on an MSI board? Thanks can the CPU fan be repositioned, so tbe AMD logo on the outer rim/edge can be facing horizonral? Good luck on your build sir. Regarding BIOS setup,there is no special setup in the BIOS sir. But on your first boot,I would highly recommend to check the frequency settings of your RAM in the BIOS.Make sure to set it in the maximum frequency that corresponds to your purchased RAM, eg. 3000, 3200,3600 etc..... Regarding deepcool cases,their cases are also good. Regarding the AMD logo,No you can't make it horizontal,its either left or right same as my configuration but better place the logo on the left to avoid blocking one of the memory slot. Hope i answered all your questions.

I hope to get 3K or 3200 RAM, 16 × 2 cards, as its affordable (even tho the m/b supports faster via OCing) hope to get a 5500 GPU, or if not, a 580 (8 GB). The monitor is an MSI 27" curved optix. SLINGSHOTop you won’t need since it is a B550 motherboard. On B450 you may need a bios update, which is not the case with B550 MB as they are designed for Ryzen gen 3
Hey I got the same motherboard but where did you get the m.2 screw it doesn’t have it in box and in motherboard itself it’s just the plate with 2 screws to secure the m.2...
Its always on the motherboard box sir..check underneath the manuals and CD included its its in a small plastic..always be careful with unboxing motherboards with m.2 slots coz most of manufacturers include the screw in the box not on the motherboard itself..

Bro the top slot with steel armor is the one PCIE-4. Check your manual. Thats why they put steel armor in that slot which means its an upgrade from PCIE-3 and better support from the GPU,s weight.😉
To people scared of building its not hard, i was scared too and wasted money on a prebuilt im not building a new pc all i need is for my ryzen 7 to come in and its done, i have my prebuilt just sitting there, all you need is your case, motherboard thats compatible with your cpu (which always says what socket it supports), power supply, gpu, ram and a ssd or hdd or m.2
I have this exact motherboard in this video. Can anyone pls tell me why my aura sync doesn't work anymore? It just randomly stopped working. None of my rgb works anymore on my pc. I checked my bios and it showed my rgb lights were enabled. Pls help!
Andrei Lomente yes sir it always come with the motherboard, you just need to be careful when unboxing because you might lose the screws included in the box. With this MB, 2 screws were included and even if i just needed one for my M.2, i still put the other screw in place so if incase i will use the other slot, it’ll already be available on the board.
The main difference betwen these two are their boost clock. Both have the same 1530Mhz core clock but ROG strix has 1845 boost clock and Dual Evo has 1785. Other specs are pretty much the same. If you are considering the price, check which one is cheaper. For performance. IMHO, all 1660 super will give you almost the same FPS ingame.

Some free-sync monitor are v-sync compatible. Check NVIDIA website for info :D

You should have out the GPU in the bottom slot for the GPU to take advantage of the pcie 4..

Hey, should I get the Asus 1660 super dual or this one, know one really reviews the Asus 1660 super dual
The main difference betwen these two are their boost clock. Both have the same 1530Mhz core clock but ROG strix has 1845 boost clock and Dual Evo has 1785. Other specs are pretty much the same. If you are considering the price, check which one is cheaper. For performance. IMHO, all 1660 super will give you almost the same FPS ingame.

More or less 900USD build. It will depend where you buy the parts. In my case, I bought all parts from the US and was shipped to Middle East.
