    Love your videos. I find that it’s usually better to err on the side of less sessions than more. This is especially the case if it’s during a strength phase. Handling 80 percent on up too many times will lead to a breakdown in technique and possible injuries. Deadlifting is a movement where a few really good sets are far superior to a bunch of average ones.

    Can you please do one for the OHP? My OHP is severely weak.

    Some key points that also need to be covered is how the nervous system is taxed from other exercises. For those that power lift, we need to consider squat days and other auxiliary work which you covered. There will be carry over that will influence effectiveness of technique and overall fatigue management. Even thinking about the type of deadlift matters. Conventional deadlifting tends to create more overall stress. I generally think about programming through a lens of do I feel recovered enough to do the prescribed workout? While following a weekly plan is often used, I think for most people it’s about day 1, day 2, day 3, etc… - it’s much more important to take an extra day off, than to train poorly. Thx for all of your help.

    Great explanations but, IMO, you under utilize specificity for deadlifts. Because they are so taxing, it makes more sense to be more specific with them and drive underlying fitness with other lower body lifts, like squats. Specificity both from the standpoint of doing more singles for more first reps as well as in exercise selection.

    Would sumo deadlift be an appropriate variation in case of person B?

    • @JuggernautTrainingSystems
      @JuggernautTrainingSystems  2 года назад

      In what context? Sumo vs Conventional is largely decided by body proportions and mobility: ruclips.net/user/shortsYHW_LZVovYo

      @@JuggernautTrainingSystems Yes, I apologize for the confusion. I meant in the three sessions where the comp deadlift is the regular deadlift, if it would be good practice to practice the sumo deadlift in one session as a variation (instead of say the deficit deadlift) or if it's better to stick to the given variations in the video.

    Should one do sumo deadlift if hypertrophy is main goal

    When you say “6RM @ RPE 7,” do you really mean a 6 rep max? Or do you mean to just do 6 reps at an RPE 7 weight? That “6RM” verbiage is misleading me a bit.

  • @SaintsFPS
    @SaintsFPS Год назад

    Are the percentages of the variations supposed to be based off the 1RM of the competitive deadlift or is it based on the 1RM of the variation itself?
