There are busses from kiphisos bus station in Athens directly to Zakynthos. You would go to killiny just on time to get on the ferry .It's convenient for your luggage which remains locked on the bus all the time you are on the ship. You may do some research or ask to the ticket offices how you may easily go to a destination and they will tell you. They even have a direct bus from Zakynthos to Thessaloniki and from Athens to Corfu. The organisation for public busses all over Greece is named KTEL
That bus left at 4pm which would have meant hanging out at the bus station with my backpack for three hours and I was ready to get out of Athens. Instead I had a couple hours to kick back at a restaurant in Kyllini and sip ouzo while waiting for the ferry. :)

Exactly! When I was in Greece in 1987 my father, uncle and I had a big lunch, ouzo and beers for about $12, including tip! Once the Euro came along, prices more than tripled. However, the new airport, highways and metro are very nice (thank you Athen's Olympics and the EU)!
Fun fact (kind of) the burned vehicle outside the police station was a gateaway car used in the assassination of a local shady buisinessman a few weeks ago.The shooters escaped with the car,then set it on fire to destroy any dna in it and vanished.

Just to add. There is a bus station in Athens that has buses to Kilini with ferry ticket included. Also an excellent site is Rome 2 rio. Just type in where from and where to, and it gives you all the options.
Your videos are nice but Athens is not all about central Athens you should visit suburbs like glyfada vouliagmeni, Athens Riviera, apart from the islands there are places like meteora, nafplio, delfoi, zagoroxoria, karditsa (plastira lake) , Pilio, syvota, the islands of paxoi, monemvasia.. and many others but above all the beautiful island of kythira

Just got back from Jordan, Cyprus, Crete, and Athens. The biggest pain in the ass I've experienced was travelling during Covid. Crete and Athens were fantastic. Jordan was great too. Cyprus was beautiful (the mountain part), but the people weren't too friendly.
Zakynthos is amazing! Been there several times. Always felt like home. Amazing beaches and food. One place worth visiting for sightseeing is Bohali for drink dessert! And dinner O Thimalos! For beaches check out Alikes, makris gialos, vasilikos, gerakas,kalamaki and marathonisi Island, shipwreck and sightseeing at Keri (Light house)

Travelled all Greece, inc all the islands in the the early to mid 80's & my daily budget for everything was £8 sterling, about 9euros/$11us. This included eating out twice per day. Great memories. After Greece it was Spain, France & Italy. I kinda wish YT was around then to show my travels. All I had was a very basic 35mm film camera...it was before digital.

I never stay in the same hotels or guesthouses, never eat where I see an English sign nor travel in the same trains, buses, or anything that moves with other foreigners. I don,t tend to travel halfway around the world to hang with the very same people I left behind. That explains the name I use.

So there is for sure cheaper options for those complaining about budget... except if you like the view and the location then you have to pay something extra :). The best way to travel between so many islands is to rent a boat. Or try using the "Rome 2 Rio" one good app, for you plan to go from A to B. They have so many options. Enjoy European summer Dude.

Tip from a Greece fan from Holland... On all my travels to Greece i paid a lot less for my food. Just take your time to visit the small villages in Greece to get your meal at small family restaurant's and not the tourist places. If you only order a drink in the small towns of inland greece you probably always get a snack with your drinks, and if you also order some food it's more than you can eat for probably 10 to 15 euro's for two persons. And the food is even more fresh and prepared with a lot of love by the mother of the establishment. And car or scooter rentals are most likely to make you a deal if you rent for a week or more with discounts. You have to visit some rental places in touristic areas because the competitive business in rentals are high so more likely to make a deal. But i like your flog with nice shots and you have interesting tips also.👍
I remember paying about $70 for a ferry from Pireaus to Haifa,Israel via Cyprus where I did a 3 day stop off in 1988.It was the first ferry with a casino and I won my fare back.Traveling last class,of course.
Hello from Athens. As a Greek I have been to almost every island soooo the islands are like hotels. First class second class etc according to how commercial they are. For example you can have the same meal at Santorini (very popular) and pay 40E and on the other hand you can be in Nisiros (not very commercial) and pay half the price. The island he is now Zakinthos is commercial. Fun fact. Many years ago a Greek salad was cheap cause is a salad after all,but many tourists will order only the salad and bread,so now the Greek salad is considered and priced as a main meal.

Well, there is a bus from Athens to Zakynthos actually. At the same bus station. You pay for the bus and the ferry there. It gets you to Kyllini, boards on the boat and then you can either carry on with the bus to the terminal station in Zakynthos (somewhere just outside the city center) or hop off on foot just as you reach the island.
