I’m not broke I’ve travel the entire word and Hawaii is the most beautiful place I’ve been too. Did a helicopter tour with the doors off in Hawaii went over all the amazing waterfalls and mountains. There’s so many beautiful beaches
You always look relaxed and happy when In Kauai, must feel like a second home to you and it shows through your videos. Will be a great week there, loved your last visit almost a year ago. Excited to see where to next, you will love NZ if that is in the itinerary.😊✌️
If it is only south, then even Kiribati is an option (regarding possible flights from Honolulu). The country that comes first to the New Year every year. Or Samoa. But most probably New Zealand, a very interesting and diverse country.
I predict you are ultimately headed for NZ, but I think you'll stop somewhere else beforehand. The options for direct flights from Honolulu are Kiritimati Island in Kiribati, Papeete in Tahiti, Rarotonga in the Cook Islands, and Samoa (either Apia in free Samoa or Pago Pago in the US colony). I imagine it will be Tahiti or the Cook Island (or maybe both?). Should be interesting.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos I have heard that the Cook Islands are really magical, off the beaten track and beautiful. On the other hand, Tahiti is like a French Hawaii, with all the pros and cons that implies.
That's the knock on Hawaii for the last few years is accomodation prices are really too high. Of course the food is high too. It's inexpensive to fly there from the mainland U.S. but after that all bets are off. Makes SE Asia look like a total bargain.
My wife and I honeymooned on Kauai in June 1989. And we have returned a number of times over the years with our kids when they were young. Stayed at the CoCo Palms in 1989. It was destroyed in 1992 by Hurricane Iniki. The last time I was there in 2011 the CoCo Palms was still in ruins and I hear that it still is. However, the island is magical! Kee Beach is the best. Mahalo.
Been to Hawaii more than a dozen times back in the 90's. Loved the islands, the scenery, the beaches. Last time I was there was 2000, the prices we're getting rediculous, that's when I called it quits. I'm pretty sure I stayed at that resort back in '92 a few months after hurricane Iniki struck in September. The tourist had cancelled that Christmas, and the resort was completed full of the locals that had lost there homes. Would I go back? Only if the price was right.
Gabriel is back on Kauai! I think I know where you are staying, but didn't know it was that expensive! I guess prices have gone way up in the last couple years. We did a NZ North Island road trip in 2023. It was very nice and the towns were wonderful to explore. We did South Island many years ago and loved it too! The Maori culture is similar to Hawaiian culture, similar words. Both came from the Cook Islands area. A Maori guy told me they sent all the sick people to Hawaii and the warriors to NZ. I think he was tossing out an insult??
I love Hawaii, when I lived there for 10 years, I spent some quality time on other islands …except only two days on Kauai ..,so I love this! And the yurt/ cabin camping ❤ Maybe I’ll get back there after all!

Hi Gabriel, Hawaii is so beautiful, but the islands have made it unaffordable for most people because of the development. This is the problem that Puerto Rico grapples with. If the development becomes more intense it changes the landscape, and you only have the wealthy taking over and pushing out the other classes of people. Greece in Europe is experiencing this now even in Spain the overrun of tourists has discouraged many from coming to Spain with much of the world changing and ex-pats moving into different countries have changed the landscape driving the cost of development in these countries.
So true. Just spent 4 months scouting the Greek mainland and some islands. The same places/areas we were looking at, pre-pandemic, have increased by 400%!!! Totally missed the boat.

Hi Gabe. When in NZ, would you consider what many visitors do, and hire a small motor home RV so you can travel with your accommodation? Many tourists wanting to get away from the cities in Australia take that option as well. I'm not sure how the prices would compare, though, with hotels etc.
