    Does comments gushing over these dream machines ever get old? I've always thought this is the best yacht design for owner operators made today. The utility room, interior access to the engine room, the multiple control stations all are just so well thought out.

      Plus you can have a wireless remote control around your neck, so you can actually step off the boat after having put your fenders out and then guide the boat in with a remote.

    excellent combination of performance and accommodation. 450 miles at such a fast cruise is very impressive. most boats do under 300 miles (usually around 250) at a much lower cruise. and riv has the hull to do it in big seas. very balanced main deck withe good division of space between the galley and the saloon. and the galley is well placed to serve both the saloon and the the excellent mezzanine deck. and what excellent spaces for water sports. great cockpit and massive swim platform. if you are not in to big game fishing riviera will rack out the fish box spaces for dive tanks instead.

    Once upon a time, Riviera was my favorite boat brand. It seems though that they missed the memo about making your side glass as tall as possible. It therefore seems a bit tomb-y inside the saloon. Their flybridge models look a bit clunky to me too. Still, their engineering is amazing and they have some incredible features (i.e. the electrochromic window between the owner stateroom and the head on the 6000SY) and they are still near to my heart. Thanks for the great review, as always!

    Is there a better owner-operated yacht on the market? If I'm picky I would ask for a rain head shower in the master ensuite and if you could fit it, maybe twin ensuite sinks. But otherwise it's perfect and built about 10kms from where I live. Well done Riviera.

    Very nice. Two questions: At current fuel prices, roughly how much would it cost to completely fill the fuel tanks? And if traveling in the boat at a reasonable clip long distance, roughly how long would it take, how many hours, to go from completely full to empty? And one more, related to the last one. If instead of traveling, one was out and about on the water constantly, sometimes going somewhere, often times anchor down but using the a/c and music and refrigerator and monitoring weather and such while fishing perhaps, and moving to a different locations, and anchoring again and having fun, how long might that go on from full tank to empty? Thanks for a rough idea of the above. And nice review. Well done. I'll take one, please. 🙂

      At current UK waterside red diesel prices (I'm going with UK as that's where we're based) it would cost £5,400 to brim the tanks. At a 25-knot cruising speed, if you were to run the boat until the tanks were empty, you'd be able to cover approx. 450nm. At 10 knots, it will do more like 1,100nm. If you're doing short trips and spending a lot of time on anchor that fuel would last a long time. Hope that helps - Jack

    The reason your. Ibewell a has a light isn't so you can see your bait. It's so your bait can see each other and they don't swim into each other or the sides of the tank and smash themselves up and make them useless.

      I been aboard this boat and the gloss walnut looks even better in real life. It gives the interior a very classy and elegant look.

  • @woodshed_moments
    @woodshed_moments 3 месяца назад

    The boat just screams sport fisher, the interior looks like a bowling alley designer got a hold of it, that's just the big difference between sports boats and motor yachts.
    It's clean, and had some interesting enhancements, but this boat is recreation for the knuckle-dragging Chad crowd... Yep, when you can finally fit that ridiculous sized pickup of his anywhere close to where his boat will be moored, and take off for a Chad-tastic weekend.
    The interior for the money is bland I'm sorry, it just says pool hall millionaire - with all the designers out there competing, you've got shipbuilders like Sanlorenzo, Tankoa, Bering, Maori... Numarine - who are producing motor yachts that are 45 ft and longer don't ignore the interior design cues from competitors...
    Throwing all fairness, most of these boats are bespoke, and your tethered to the design sensibilities or lack thereof of the owner, will be done so to your detriment.
    With price tags in the $3.5 mil - $5.5 mil range, there's too much competition to ignore cues that sell boats.
    Interiors sell boats.
    This boat is way too shiny and kind of like I said, pool hall millionaire feel to it, or even worse yet Lottery Bob, but maybe it's because I'm partially biased, I'm not a fan of sport fishers, I'm a huge fan of sport explorers - the ultimate sport fishing boat.
    And because of that it kind of invalidates the bias, because if they can deck out an explorer like Bering does, regardless of it being a composite hull, or not, they should be able to supply an attractive interior that is competitive with the trends that are established.
    When you spend that much time in the boat how it looks on the inside matters... It's a neat looking boat, it has some key features that are very practical, and then there's some ergonomics that just play with how people recreate... that I think you're awesome.
    Short of that, back to the drawing board on the interior, LOL

      @Expied 3 месяца назад +1

      was this entire giant comment because you don't like gloss wood? and of the competitors you named, none of them are in the market for this type of boat. All around 4/10 comment.
