I've just started recently, it's hard to grasp the Nikkud and the different ways that block and handwritten looks coming from an English background. But your videos & exercises are very informative and really enjoyable. And as they say practice makes perfect! I look forward to being able to read, write and speak Hebrew. You are doing great work! Thank you very much!

Thanks for this too! I wrote all in my note book. will return again, nun sofit is very similar to vav. why there is need to add Shva nikud on the end of word on 10:53 on haf sofit -dereh , isnt it implies if there is no nikud that letter will be in original version sound? and what means dereh? Thanks!

If we write all letters with nikkud, then all letters are with nikkud, except the ones that can't get a vowel like ם mem sofit for example. Since ך chaf sofit can get a vowel, the shawa tells you that there's no vowel in this case.

We didn't deal with the chaf/chaf sofit in this lesson though? Also the word you used as an example in the video is not 'drench' but 'derech'... Reading these comments got me CONFUSED.

Hi Daniel - I'm a bit confused regarding the Sva...I thought that Sva means no vowel OR E (when you spelled Lekha for example, Sva was there to pronounce E)...can you please clarify if you have a moment? thank you!
