i usually wouldn't have an interest in this kind of video, but you really pulled out all the stops here. i have videos like this on in the background while i draw, but i fuckin couldnt with this one because youre too goddamn funny. but at the same time, you offered very fair commentary on this game. all in all, please please PLEASE continue making videos. you could have commentary over a still frame of a banana and i'd eat that shit up bro
I watched this video around when it came out and have wanted Ring-Fit Adventure since. Finally got it yesterday and did the first level this morning. Couldn't be happier with it so thank you Mr Astronaut for getting me interested in this game with this video. :)
I totally get the fitness vs strategy wolf thing with this game. Fitness 🐺: "Why don't I have to complete the full set of reps for a 'switch sides' workout when I've only done 1.333 sides?!" Strategy 🐺: "If it's a 3-enemy attack and I've KO'd 1 on 1 side with a screen of 5 enemies, why am I not offered the option to change the attack range?" All joking aside though, gamifying exercise pushes me more than exercise videos. When exercise videos get too intense, I can pause to take a break or do a lower-impact variation. This game really succeeds at making you do more than the bare minimum. Looking forward to an even better exercise game next gen, Nintendo!
Took me 7 months and I finished half of the bonus worlds but I quit it to branch off and exercise on my own . But I can't help the fact that everytime I think of that game, it makes me happy and sad because at the end of the day that influenced me in both good ways and bad ways. It truly was an adventure... But nice work CA :)
From personal experience, I find it helps with getting the motivation to do SOMETHING good for your body. Otherwise, I'll just lay in bed for another 15 hours before it's time to go to sleep and get winded going up the stairs to my class. So I see this game as perfect for people like me, someone who doesn't go to the gym and can't do exercises on their own. I also don't play on the hard difficulty, since I get really tired after just about 10-30 min of exercise on difficult 11 (there's 30 difficulty levels), but it's been great at helping me build stamina and endurance. Will I be hot and energetic at the end of the journey? Absolutely not. Will I be healthier and have the energy to, let's say, actually bother to cook for myself? Yup, it does that pretty well. I actually want to do something after doing an exercise, which is crazy to me. I may even dance a bit afterward. So it's not all bad.
Maybe I'm a bit weird, but I really enjoyed the game for it's story and music. So halfway through I focused more on that than working out xD. Ultimately it only gave me 90 houres of fun.
This game may not be able to replace the gym (to be fair, what fitness game can?!) but I still think it's a damn fun way of working out, especially on difficulties at 25 or higher. Also, at 12:22, why'd you put Blaziken as the "fit" Pokemon instead of something like Machamp?
The game is right, you could do low impact full body workouts everyday, I think the focus of the game is to lose weight but with that said you might gain some stamina, some muscle and some strength but all of that is just an after thought to losing weight which would explain why the game wants you to always do the hardest workouts...
I'm shocked I never realized this game is a JRPG. I've been having a great time with it, almost 2 months and completely agree with the problem mixing strategy with exercise, sometimes I want to do X exercise but it is basically worthless damage wise so no point in doing it or with the smoothies, I was using them every battle at the start but then you realize what you want is to more more reps, not less so you just ignore them, same with the pink skills, my def is so high I don't even have to use them anymore, not even accounting lucky guards, still a ton of fun tho.

Okay, you got me 🤣🤣🤣 that was so funny the Abs reveal. P.S: I love Ring Fit! I play it usually like, 2 to 3 story missions, then play with the Music games and end up with some designated workout of the other modes. It's not perfect but he'll of decente. Also, OMG the amount of SQUATS 🤣
I made a nuzlocke profile on my switch so I could do a pokemon sword nuzlocke I haven't used the profile much but I want to use it for a ring fit adventure on the hardest difficulty without smothies so may need to grind alot but think it'd be fun
