montevue.co.za - CABINE DES ANGES is a luxurious three-story wooden mountain cabin with large stacking doors and glass windows with breathtaking 360 valley and mountain views. It has a large deck at the front with deck chairs and patio set, to relax for sun downers, and at the rear a a beautiful deck and outdoor Braai (BBQ) area to socialize. In the inside modern open plan living area, you will also find an indoor braai/fireplace for cozy, colder evenings. On the outside deck you can relax in a luxurious wood-fired hot tub, that doubles as a splash pool in the summer, overlooking the valley. The house has everything you need to have an amazing time rain or shine!
This unit sleeps a total of 10 people. (Max 6 adults):
- The loft area has 2 Double Beds, perfect for a family with kids, and a full bathroom with bath overlooking the mountains.
-The separate downstairs flatlet (access from outside the house) contains 1 double bed, and 1 pull out couch, perfect for a small family. The flatlet also has a full bathroom with a shower.
-The large open plan living room and kitchen feels spacious and luxurious, and is well equipped. There is 1 extra pull out couch that sleeps 2 extra people or children.
-There is also an Outside Shower and Outside Toilet (Loo with a view!) for the adventurous.

This eco-friendly house is 100% off grid, with borehole water (bring fresh water yourself), hot water from a gas geyser, and electricity from solar power. There is NO phone or internet signal at the house. There is a gas oven and stove and microwave for all cooking needs, electric plugs to charge phones or use other small appliances. (No appliances with elements like hair dryers etc.) You will also find a Smart TV with a USB full of pre-loaded movies, or you can cast downloaded content from your phone. (unfortunately no DSTV or other live channels). We believe that living without wi-fi and phone signal is medicine for the soul.
(For phone signal you can walk up (or drive up if you have 4×4) a few hundred meters behind the house up the mountain “Signal Hill” where there is good signal, or just 5 minutes’ drive toward Montagu on the main road.)
The house also has other things to keep you busy like a small collection of books, cards and board games, a bow and arrows, a slingshot, and some toys for children. We usually also have our Telescope there, for you to view the moon, planets or stars or look for game. (All used at own risk. Damages or losses to our property will be for your charge.)
