Definitely easier with an impact, I just took off the metal bumper piece that you see. I didn't even bother with all the supports, I may take em off later but I'll probably just mount light pods to it
Well done! Certainly an improvement. I just like how the "new" one still has the plastic trim clips busted so its leaning away from the chrome on either side. Same as my 97...

Pam is awesome for any stuck bolt i was a firm believer in pb blaster but after it got in my eyes i decided to start using my gf pam its cheap at walmart and way less harmful and painful than pb blaster if the wind does blow it in your eyes

He already took off what I wanted to see someone take off 😅 the top and bottom plastic trim of the bumper.

Hey Bone, they came with the truck from factory. I have seen them a couple times on other 2nd gens at the Junkyard, if you have one nearby you.

I just subscribed because I have to replace my fender, hood, grill, bumper and maybe the radiator. I wrecked my 99 Dodge Ram 2500. Don't know if I can do it by myself. I'm 67 and will be working on the ground.
Its not as hard as it seems. It will really help to have a helper on the bumper so they can hold it in place while you install the bolts at first. You could probably tie it up with rop in 3 places and do it alone though.

If you cant find a good junk yard. Cert-fit has great prices on all of these parts. That is where I got the fenders.

Well they kind of do, from 98-02 but they are crappy rear opening suicide doors.
If you look really hard a few companies made aftermarket 4 door crew cab versions. But there were not many made.

What would happen if I disconnect that ground and connect it somewhere else
As long as its a good solid ground that grounds back through, it should work fine.

Just curious what does that ground wire ground out? And would it be bad if let’s say I didn’t hook it back up because my bracket was rusted out 😅
Just find a different spot on your frame to ground it to problem solved. It is probably a ground to my ambient temperature sensor or headlights. I did not follow the ground to fin out where it lead because, I do not currently have any ground problems.

Small tip for undoing stuborn nuts place a small piece of 1" metal water pipe about 1' long on the end of your ratchet just to crack off the nut it saves your knuckles 💯👍 your breaker bar is too lose on the ratchet
