Recently my cat started sleeping on my head on the pillow at night, I have terrible insomnia and the purring surrounding me just knocks me out in minutes, I love her so much
my kitten lays on top of my head in the weirdest positions lol, i wonder why they do that
❤❤
✌🥰so cute
I hear you, I have the same experience with my cat. He comes and snuggles on my shoulder and bang, I'm asleep. Cats are just the best animal and deserve to be treated as such.
Grin...I had quite a few years going to sleep with a cat on my head, one at my back with his head in my hair, and one at my side under the covers. Yes...3 purring kitties makes for a peaceful night's sleep!
I just got my self a cat yesterday and she's already getting along with me. Wish me luck for ahead of time
Same
Good luck with your cat
Wow cool hope u have fun
Got a new kitty today. My adult male hasn't taken a liking to her yet but now as she sleeps he's prowling all over the house sniffing and being extra curious! Lol it's funny to watch and I bet within days they'll be best buds! I hope
Nikki Nikki good luck and have fun :)
A feral I befriended (who was tough, so I allowed myself to learn from her) taught me all about the proper way to interact with cats. It was relationship building from the ground up, so I gave her the lead. It took months to get her inside and to stay all night.....but always paid attention to body language, and as a result, I never received an ounce of aggression from her. In the beginning if I moved certain ways, she would hiss...Id take away all eye contact and just allow her to calm down....once she knew I wasn't exhibiting any threatening behavior, Id see shed relax very quickly. Learned the right way to pet her....she didn't like any "reach around her head" petting, so I would cease on anything I perceived as something she didn't like. The relationship was always like this as time went on. The result was the greatest bond I ever had the pleasure to have with any animal. Sadly, she passed nearly a year ago. She had spent 9 to 10 years outside, with people who provided her a shelter and food, but never bonded with anyone the way she did with me. She provided me with a good deal of knowledge on who cats are, and how to develop a loving bond with them. She touched my heart forever.
My daughter and I adopted a cat last month, and the bond is growing, all because of my unique bond, with a very special cat.
The feral ones who choose to trust you are the most rewarding friends!
@@SouthCountyGal they are for sure. Yes they know they can rely on you for food....but they need to make their own concious decision that the benefit of getting closer outweighs the risk. Some never get that far, seems that no risk is worth it to them....but then there's little tuxedo who was TnR by my neighbor.. .and finally after 2 years she comes over for petting....with that being said it was consistency with my behaviors towards her that finally did it. Same approach every day for 2 years. She may end up living inside one day. I can see now its definitely doable with her.
Sa e thing with our ferals, 3 in all plus one adopted. If folks could only understand how very special (and loyal) cats are, 🐈 it would be wonderful 😊
@@elainediantonio1504 cats don't help their own cause...lol....with their behavior, its like they want to keep themselves misunderstood......My first feral, she was always given food and shelter, she knew she had a good deal, and she would let the main providers pet her when she was in the mood for it....but once I befriended her and got her inside to live....she wouldn't let anyone except me touch her. That sure is loyalty!
❤️🔥
My cat peed on my brothers bed bc he didn’t change the litter pan in over a week and knew it was his job lol
I have 2 cats, I make a habit to clean the litter in the mornings and before bed time. Also fresh water. They will love you!
My cat gets so happy and thanks me when cleaning the litter box

@@kylercainfitness LOL.. yea.. before it’s too late.. you know these feline dislike a dirty liter box.
Everything Jackson said is 100% true HOWEVER, each cat is an individual. What some cats won't, don't tolerate others might, or might come to with the exception of over stimulating and the signs of an aggravated kitty. That is no different than the ways in which we communicate such things physically, such as drumming of fingers, hand on the hip etc. Dilated pupils is another good sign of aggravation (in a well lit room - no cause for wide dilation).
I say all this because it is our responsibility to "know" our kitty as an individual, it is only fair as our kitties and other pets such as the dog make every attempt to know us =) My boy Bram kitty, doesn't care about being touched anywhere "by me" or the dog he lived with (RIP Boot doggy). Thank you Jackson and MUCHO success !
DK Dempcey Knight DK: so true- every cat is different - in personality, likes, dislikes, taking to other people (they can tell who is a "cat person" and who isn't) Years ago I had a female siamese who was goofy, lovable, talkative, playful and a wonderful mother to her daughter who was somewhat like her Mom and I miss them both very much. The cat I have now is totally different in mannerisms, personality, behaviour - all three did not react the same way to over-stimulation, they had different personalities, likes, dislikes, etc. They can be alot like people! Enjoy your kitty!
DK Dempcey Knight DK this is so true. I have two cats and they are really different from each other. They are unique and you must to learn how to deal with each one properly. Sometimes same signals mean different necessities.
the belly thing totally depends on the cat. My cat definitely loves being pet there^^;
Nabiya Ri same
Yup I´ve had just as many cats that like it as cats that don´t. Probably more
Not just depends on the cat, depends on the trust. Consider it a great honor if a cat lets you pet them there and enjoys it, because it means they trust you explicitly, from what I've experienced. I've known at least one cat who would hiss and spit and scratch at anyone who tried to even touch her back, but allowed her human to touch her for brief periods; just goes to show that cats bond very infrequently, unlike dogs.
Nayerianimelvr would be awesome if this was true for my cat, but if he knows a person won't harm him (he doesn't seem to really trust men, probably because deep voices scare him) he will let anyone touch his belly^^;
Nabiya Ri
And how many strangers do you have at your house?
So many people here are saying their cat lets them rub their belly. Congratulations! You have a very trusting and / or tolerant cat. :) Most cats aren't like that, so you should definitely appreciate that yours has such a great bond with you.
BlueUncia my cat does it and I've only had her 6 months

My cat used to bite me when I ate pasta in front of him, specifically fettuccine alfredo... I guess he just really disliked Italian
Alfredo is not Italian
Like a hard bite or play bite?
@@mariamrouchdi2058 Alfredo sauce may not be but fettucine alfredo is.
The name “Alfredo sauce” is almost completely absent in Italy, although there are plenty of pasta sauces which are similarly based on the combination of butter and Parmigiano. ... In 1914, Alfredo di Lelio, a Roman restaurateur who was popular among American tourists, named his butter and cheese linguine after himself.
@@pamd.happykat8187 as an Italian i did know the story of this sauce, that's quite interesting, thanks for the info :)
@@mariamrouchdi2058 You're welcome. I Googled it, thought it was kinda cool and wanted to share what I found out.
There are, of course, individual exceptions. My cat *adores* gentle belly rubs *from me.* Not anyone else - anyone else and she'll scratch and bite. With me, however, she purrs and makes kittie biscuits, and if I stop, she'll grab my hand with soft paws and pull it back to her tummy.
My cat directs my ✋ with her paws away from her belly to her head.
I adopted a senior cat and the second night he was home with me he rolled over on his back and kept wiggling around so the hand I'd been giving chin scratches was on his chest/abdomen.
I know I'm not special though, he insists on getting tummy rubs from everyone who's ever come into my apartment.🤣
A year ago, I adopted a 1 year old feral cat, whom I named Buddy. This video was instrumental to our relationship. Sure, I have plenty of scars on my arms and ankles to tell the full story, but Buddy is now one of the sweetest, well-behaved little lover boys I've ever known. Jackson helped make this past year a joy. Thank you!
I've always worn my cat scratches/scars as a badge of honor and pride.
Yep, it's the new "scratchy-too" thing
If you aren't occasionally scratched from playing with your cat you are doing it wrong ;-]
I look like a pin cushion from my cat. lol
My brother in law will put on a thick work glove to protect his hand when he plays with his cats. =)
I’ve always heard that a cat “wagging” its tail meant it was agitated or annoyed, but my cat does this while purring and acting otherwise very happy and relaxed. She very frequently has at least the tip of her tail thumping around. She’s named Whip because of it. Has anyone else noticed this in their own cats?
I think alot of animals have behavior like that. My grandma has a male dog who growls when he’s happy.
When I was like 5 my mom taught me about the tail wagging meaning they're getting annoyed and to leave them alone and I was petting our cat one day and she was chillin purring and her tail started to wag a little and I got scared like oh no she's gonna attack any second but then my mom said if they're purring and their tail is wagging then it means they're super happy. since he said in this video that it's energy building up and escaping through their tail I can see how my moms explanation might be right?
Ive also heard its because they are focused or thinking hard, like when they are stalking they might fwap their tail around.
I have a cat who wags his tail 24/7. He's happy, purring, slow blinking, relaxed, and his tail is just going to town. So I think there are some outliers out there.
Yes All my cats have done this with their tails! It depends on which way their tail is moving!
Purring can also be them self soothing.
When my cat exposes her stomach, she meows and purrs when I pet her. I even roll her around with my hand. She's my sister from another species
mine too I love my cat a lot today I said "do you love me?" when she was in a bad mood and she cuddled with me
how sweet

ikr mine is my sister
Same I like to think my cat is my brother

So I'm sitting here watching Jackson speak about cat behaviors, and all I could think of was how much better the world is with him in it.
Soo much love JG,
so much!! 💕🐘
I simply love the way my cats, and cats in general, pose like supermodels. Right now, Angel is sitting on my lap with one paw under her chest and the other stretched out daintly......so so regal. It's as if they're saying "I'm hot, you know I'm hot and how fortunate you are to be my human
Bochanable i think the models are the ones who pose.
The best is when you try to take a picture of them, if you just call them, they won't go, just start to compliment them, and they'll pose like you never would have expected
imdisturbed4eva HAHAHAH oml I love that. My kitten is named Geneviève and she is the queen of the house. She’s a light grey tabby with big green eyes, and she poses like she’s a model too! We just got a new kitten, Amoret, and she’s just a cuddle bug!
Wish me luck guys I'm getting my first cat!
Itachi Uchiha k
Good luck you will have a great time how is your cat
good luck .. you are gonna need it :)
please let us know how it turned out
Itachi Uchiha you’ll do ok, cats are awesome creatures!!!
The best interpretation of the tail sweeps I've seen is that it's what they do when they have to make a decision. They do it when deciding whether to go out, too. And when deciding whether to tolerate more petting, which is when it looks like annoyance.
Richard Braakman f v
My cats did that minutes ago when their bro jumped up ontop of the fridge, managed to scoop them up and deposit them in their bed before they make a desicion, im not risking more than one cat ontop of the fridge :/
My cat spends his time trying to groom, knead, and hug me. I know he's digging my company lol. He's a sweetheart. I'm his favorite human.
I've had my cat for 11 months since he was a kitten and not once has he hissed or struck out in anger. He doesn't mind his belly being rubbed and exposes it all the time, but only for a short period then he'll put his paw on my hand as if to say "That's enough mummy" Love him to bits.
My sweet Lizzy is a story of her own! She was so scared of us at first and it has taken over a year for her to trust. She doesn't like to be picked up so as far as I'm concerned she has that right with what she has been through. She started to come out of our room but had gotten really sick and now we have lost some ground. Picking her up, taking her to the vet, wrapping her to force feed. She is bouncing back loves to be petted. Likes attention and squeaking when we go to the living room. She is doing wonderfully after being so sick! Got really scared for awhile.
After watching your videos I’ve been able to adjust how I treat my cats and they are happier than ever. My boy cat stopped peeing on everything as well and I’m super thankful for that. Thank you for making these informative videos your saving cats and humans relationships.
When my fiance first moved in with me, my cat pissed on her pillow, took a dump in her purse, then nestled up in a laundry basket of my clothes. Daddy's girl!
This comment made me giggle.
Hahaha

I hope that you've been able to resolve the conflict.
Your cat was saying “she’s mine now.... and so are you, don’t forget that slave!” ;P well sorta
why does my cat bark? im not kidding it sounds like a dog barking.
Maverick lover wat
Maverick lover lol rlly?
Take it to the vet, maybe it is a dog. LMAO
Maverick lover LEL. I've never heard of a cat barking. Looks like your cat might have learned something off a dog while living in a shelter. I met a cat that constantly kept wagging her tail. Even though this usually means that the cat is annoyed, she usually does it as a sign that she's happy. (she'll walk up to you, sniff you, and rub herself against you while doing that) Turns out, her owners think that that was probably because she was always around dogs in the shelter and possibly started picking up a few behavioural traits from them.
i think she's possesed by a dog
Not scared of loud noises at night anymore because I just assume it's my cat
Me too it always my cat

This is so true pmsl bruh!

My wonderful MIL adopted a feral cat and I promised to look after her when my MIL passed away. Thanks to you, Jackson, I learned how to love on her on her terms, and to give her her space when she wanted it. It was a watershed relationship for me. That cat has passed on, but I adopted another cat who is an elderly gentleman, and is so loving. Thank you for helping to open me up to the wonderful world of cats!
I need to take cat behavior 101. We've always been a dog family and I need to see more videos like this one. Thanks for all you do!
I've learned a lot from Jackson Galaxy and now my cat is a lap cat, but only when she wants to be.
@@RomanCatholicAntonio So precious! Happy for you!
hope Jackson sees, yeah he's been a huge amount of help. his explanations make sense, do reflect the interaction. He's help me get better, and it improves my life and the cats. and he is entertaining.
Jackson Galaxy has tons of helpful videos! Check out his channel!
A lot of cats love their belly rubbed, but it's something they kind of have to learn. Have had cats that were a little iffy about it at first, but you do it often enough and stop when they don't want it, and they figure out that they really like it in time.
+MP197742 You just have to be careful that you don't startle them at first or they think they're being attacked xD
My cat was a stray, and we've had him for a couple months now. He let me pet his belly yesterday. I was petting him, and he rolled on his side, belly facing me (he was on my lap). I transitioned though, and pet his side as well, switching back and forth.
AlphaWolf098 That's a very good way to do it. :3
+AlphaWolf098 That is what I do with my sister's cat. He likes having his belly rubbed, but when I do it I am very careful and keep an eye on his body language
+Grace Harman
They don't think they are being attacked when you rub their belly... they are not stupid. -.-
Thank you, Jackson! I started watching these videos a few years ago, and now have a reputation among friends and family for being a bit of a cat-whisperer as well as a dog-whisperer.
So many people say that cats are obtuse, difficult to read, or just plain chaotic. But after watching some of Jackson's videos, most of them are as easy to read as a book.
Several of my cats have LOVED their belly rubs, but their body shape when rolling on their back for a belly rub is significantly different to other cats who were simply rolling over to demonstrate trust - with all of the belly-rub-lovers, their paws were tucked back in at the wrist/ankle so their claws were retracted and covered. But I usually found that they liked to progress from a chin rub while sitting/standing, to a full-body flop over to their backs, and then working down to the belly.
Also, I have noticed (with my cat and with others) that they have several different tail movements, the lazy and relaxed waft back and forth usually seems to mean the cat is happy and comfortable, while the irritated definite, snappy "flick" back and forth is when I tell people to stop petting their cat with their full hand from the head to the hips. "Oh, but he loves this!" says the owner, 10 seconds before the cat then turns and snaps or claws at them. A little calm chin scratching and ear/forehead massaging (almost a feline shiatsu massage!) later, and they are happily purring as they flop down in my lap, and willing to lie there for hours, with the tail waving around like a cobra dancig for a snake charmer.
The owners then think that the cat hates them and loves me, until I show them the technique and the warning signs.
I have had people tell me cats are evil I'm like there's some that are assholes as all cats in my experience have different personalities so each one works differently so some are just dicks others are mellow other's are hyper it's just really vast just like people
I love watching videos like these because it feels like taking an extra quiz to see if I know as much as I think I do about cats.
6 Things Your Cat is Saying To You #TeamCatMojo buff.ly/1tYrLG8
How should we interpret this man's absurd facial hair?
I have three boys, when they sleep with their bellies up, I will rub my face in them. I usually let them know before hand, and they will purr instead of scratching.
Chris Blackmore
1) Well, let's analyze this. First of all, the unusual facial hair is cut in a very artistic way, someone who appreciates interesting form and composition and has great artistic ability (Jackson IS a musician on the side of the cat stuff.) 2) The facial hair is a sign of trying to "break the ice" or having something interesting to talk about, a sign of a calm, respectable personality as he lets his face become interesting enough that you'll look at it instead of trolling on the 'Tube making rude comments. 3) The grooming time needed to arrange the beard and 'stache like that shows an utter, almost obsessive level of cleanliness (a very feline aspect! :) ) and someone who I probably wouldn't mind eating off the floor of his house.
In essence, Jackson's unusual facial hair is the mark of a calm, friendly, very clean, artistic personality that is a bajillion times greater than your typical RUclips troll which probably doesn't have anything nice to say about anyone.
[swats at you with a paw] begone!
artisanrox Well, there we go! To think I had him down as a narcissist...
thanks for the answer Jackson...regards
when my cat goes on her back, i rub her belly and she loves it she’ll close her eyes and purr 🤷🏻♀️ but she’s 5months old so maybe it’s just her age or she just trusts me enough
some are just that way but most are not.
it's probably a bit of both, but 5 months old is way beyond kittenhood, so I'd guess it's more the trust, keep it up!
@@24get24give 5 months old IS a kitten. They are considered kittens till 1 yr old.
sadiebaby it's a trap.
It might be trust.
I adopted my 1st cat the other day n she’s been an angel no biting always cuddling n just so so gentle n sweet I love her
my cat is super chill, if she's done whth me petting her, first she'll give me this look, with her eyes half squinting and partially dilated. i usually stop then. but if im not paying attention she'll bite my hand as a warning, it doesn't hurt, its more of a your hand is in my mouth so stop. she's soo chill
What breed is your cat Linda ? :)
+todd mikey YOW YOW DONT EVER SAY THAT
With the bite when he/she bites your hand softly it usually purposely soft to tell u :)
lol we both have se forst name.
One of my cats is large tuxedo who quite often gives soft bites - when he is petting my hand or trying to get attention, etc. (he likes to do it to our elbows and noses when we sleep) He rarely uses his teeth full on, but more the edges of his mouth. I see them more as kisses than bites
If you gently rub your cat's belly when they are a kitten, they then learn to love just how _good_ a tummy-rub feels. It is not all cats that bite when you rub their tummy- mainly just ones whose human did not rub their tummy when they were much younger. (speaking from experience on both ends, here)
Also, I always interpreted miscommunication #4 as a "love bite", because it really seemed like they didn't actually want to hurt me, they just nibbled on me (only one or two very small bites, too; not any kind of "gnawing" happening, at all) in a way that seemed practically affectionate.
+Loki Wolfe thanks for this information. i see why my elderly cat does not like belly rubs because she was rescued as a kitten and i wasn't around during that time, so i wasn't able to /bond/ with her
Lots of people replying that their cats love belly rubs. He didn't say all cats hate to have their belly rubbed. But he is right. The roll over isn't communicating "rub my belly". It's saying "I trust you. We are friends/family". Even if the cat tolerates or even enjoys a belly rub, that wasn't the meaning of that particular greeting gesture.
When I see my cat moving her tail I take that as a conversation starter. I ask her " what you doing, " ? and we go from there.
interesting approach
my cat LOVES belly rubs. he doesnt mind them at all. He begs for more when I stop.
Same!
+Caro Line awesome dude
+Sor Butt If i rub my cats belly, i find a scratch on my hand all the time ;.;
+Sor Butt I have 4 cats, and one of them will let me do anything to him and loves it when I rub his belly, and another one gives me this look when I rub his. It's all a matter of your cat's personality and how suddenly you rub them I think, because even if my cat loves his belly rubbed, if I do it very suddenly he'll freak out like he's being attacked, then relax.
I just started rubbing my cats belly when she was like 5 months, so I think its how you treat her/him or something..
I wish so many more cat owners would look to you for information! I have loved your shows for years and the fact that you are always teaching is wonderful for cats. I appreciate all you've done for the world of cats. Looking forward to all you bring in the future.
I might have to go check I have a cat. Mine loves a rough belly rub.
He also climbs on my shoulder wanting to be pummeled with bumpats. He wags his tail if I stop.
He's a complete adorable weirdo.
But I'm proud because I had him from birth and from very tiny got him and his litter mates used to being touched. It worked! They have all made incredibly lovely family members. They've never scratched anyone and they're cuddly.
It is my first time having a cat... I always have a dog... That is why Im really thankful for this❤
Both our cats allow belly petting and I cam give then kisses of their bellies. Our cats were rescued as kittens during Winter a few years ago. Loving cats.
The tail wagging is also about the cat concentrating/thinking hard/focusing on something, too, depending upon the amount of force being used by the cat in question.
Our kitty furson LOVES his belly rubs. If we don't give him his belly rubs, he will roll at our feet until he gets his belly rubs. We taught him since we got him at 10 weeks old if we said "be gentle" or "ouch" he was playing to rough. He was very smart and l learned it quick. I think it also helped he knew he was 💯 safe with us all. He's got the whole home to hang out in.
We have several cats and all but one love having their tummy rubbed. The tail thing, yes. Had one several years ago that sat in front of me looking up just begging for a hug. I'd pick her up and give her a cuddle. After about a minute her tail started to twitch and that was her way of saying "That's enough. Put me down now or else!"
One of my two loves his belly rubbed but just near his chest, not his actual tummy. They both love being picked up and held, but one will start whining when he wants to be put down lol and the other will just start wagging his wail and squirming a little to let me know he wants down
My cat loves getting his belly rubbed.
This guy doesn't know shit about cats, not it's weird when you rub their belly. This guy doesn't know shit about cats.
Lightning X I know! Like literally my cat loves getting belly rubbed when i rub his belly he purrs like crazy.
Depends on the cat, they can act like that towards owner but then other person that is there can think they are welcome too. Or they are setting a playtrap. as soon as you get close it's a playtime.
Fuck dude, pay attention. He isn't saying don't give your cats belly rubs, he's saying just because your cat exposes his belly doesn't mean you SHOULD go in for a belly rub. And obviously he does know shit about cats, have you seen his tv show "My cat from hell"?
BlowItOutYourAssXIII What about you shut the fuck up
My cat LOVES belly rubs... she purrs and licks my hand when I give her rubs.

MinnieAnimals same he said rub tho most people say they pet fheir tummy
MinnieAnimals he is basting you ready to eat!
Most of these are just people assuming that cat body language means the same as dogs do, they are different species and by no means act the same and people need to realise that
Saying that my kitten does fall asleep while I'm stroking her belly or her head and she never meows (except when waking up then she does a meow yawn)
I love the meow yawn
Some cats do love a good belly rub. If you have one that allows that, you are very blessed indeed.
SPYDER x13 gramas cat damn i miss her now that I don't live there
SPYDER x13 it depends on mine sometimes he likes it sometime he don't.
I had a cat when I was younger and he was raised by our dog, and she raised him as if he were a dog. He acted like a dog, too. I miss him. His name was Thor.
I always thought that with the waggling tail too. But then I met my baby boy Loki and he wags his tail when he approaches me, purring for attention. And if I don't give it he starts yowling at me. So I realized Loki is different from any cat I've ever met lol.
Tazzypoo x i have had a few cats that did that. It's all in how they wag their tail.
Wow i knew all of this already, ive had cats since i was a little kid and i always learned their body language just by observing them,i hate when people think they are like dogs, every animal its different, and if theres something i hate more than that is when people think pets are like humans.
Going to show this to my wife.
lexzeyfercronus exact same here, only my wife is my GF, she grew up around dogs, thinks cats can be treated the same.... watching her interact with cats is like "no babe.... NO don't do that.... watch her tail.... do not hold her like a baby.... be gentle...."

Sometimes when I need to take a leak outside, my cat will come next to me and piss with me😂
My cat's litter box is in the bathroom and whenever I'm peeing, he goes and pees too. He also demands for the door to be open at all times, especially during shower time, because he can guard and make sure no one's hurt under such a weird custom of having running water all over you :) ♡
One question, why the fuck do you piss outside??
Because whenever the restroom is occupied I take a leak outside. Not about to piss in the trash😂
You just made my day 😂😂

My cat just gave me a hug yesterday and I knew not to scratch his belly because I remembered this from years back
I was able to reintroduce my 3 male cats to eachother after watching your show♡. These 3 brothers had hit puberty and fought all the time, it was stressful.
Now all my boys are able to go throughtout the house and share eachothers basecamps. I'm lovin it, although only 2 will play without becoming too serious, they have excluded the 3rd from play. I appreciate all the tips and anyone struggling with cat issues, meet Jackson Galaxy, he's your cats new best friend. Watch "My Cat from hell." you'll learn a thing or two about yourself. Forever Grateful Jackson♡.
Jackson I’m known as the crazy cat lady by my niece because I talk to my cat and she literally answers. when we take a trip anywhere and she is sitting in her carrier, I usually ask if she is ok and she answers wah wah. If she doesn’t like something, it’s niaw. Thank you for all your videos, I feel that my cat is my child. She knows to comfort me when I don’t feel well, she’ll follow me and sleeps next to me.
That's not crazy at all I talk to my cats all the time
My cat leaves me a present every morning !! A HUGE TURD
XD
Ian Robertson xD
As a sign of respect, lem him see you petting it
😂
hahahha THATS TOO FUNNY
Your videos are always entertaining and of High valued information
You not only help me understand my cat 🐈 but she understands me and the resulting friendship through not misunderstanding eachother is simply incredible
Thank You Jackson
One of my cats actually loves when I pet his belly. :D He purrs and rubs against my legs when I do it.
Reverie89 same my cats love it
Lucy Millen my cat said fuck me :(
Same
Reverie89 He's not saying don't rub their belly, he's saying don't do it when they lay on their back on the floor like that.
My cat loves it
Now.... my Russian Blue cat LOVES a tummy rub for an odd reason.
Maybe it because he/she is use to it
+MegaFreddy25 It is not odd at all. No offense to this video, but I believe he is either misinformed, or something else I cannot think of a word for. If you rub a cat's tummy when they are a kitten- from my experience- they tend to love it throughout their lives. If you never rubbed or tried to rub your Russian Blue's tummy when they were a kitten, then I could agree with your "odd reason" statement, but if they get used to it at a young age, they totally just love it when they get older.
+Loki Wolfe I think he just means that you shouldn't just go in. You have to gain trust and it also depends on the breed, age, and personality.
+MegaFreddy25 I agree, it's not odd at all. My to Cats love a tummy rub too and they move their tail when they are happy. They love the rub so much that everyday they ask for it. That means that they trust you.
+MegaFreddy25
mine too...and when i stop she pulls my hand back to it
I don't have a cat but i'm still watching this
Where your profile pic from?
LMAO Now that was funny.
My cat loves to just run up to me and just ram his head into my face. Sometimes when I'm hitting him and after hes just rammed his head into my face, he will sometimes put one of his paws on each of my shoulder and kind of give me a hug.
Are you getting the msg your cat is sending? Really? #TeamCatMojo buff.ly/XrsTIj
Great information ... oh that belly is very tempting when they expose it!
My cat actually loves belly rubs! :)
Machina Some do, mine does also and when I lay my head on his belly he purrs very loud. :) He is my big baby though..
Machina My cat loves it aswell, tho only when its me. He doesn't allow my husband to do so. :p
So can a waging tail mean more then just irritation?
My cat does it when she explodes in playfulness out of no where. She'll be laying there and then you'll see her tail going and out of nowhere she runes through the room either to grab a toy that is just laying there. Or some times stalk someones feet. And then suddenly as fast and spontanious it came on she'll just come and say hi to get herself a pet.
She does has a very colorful personality, playful but can be lazy or just a wanting to hang out on a seat with someone or alone, friendly, loves to follow her humans around in the garden but loves to sleep there too.
A little bit of everything. Even with her turning 15 this October she's still the same old kitty cat she's always been.
I was just curious of the whole explosive play mode and the waging tail before that, if it really is what i think i am reading.
Greating from Holland :)
i’ve had all my cats since kittens, and they all love their bellies rubbed. it’s so sweet ❤
My cat loves it when i rub her belly....
She will lie on her back and acually wants me to rub her belly and 'holds' my hand with her paws when I do.
Without any nail out.
I bet she wags her tail when you do.
Same...
My cat loves a belly massage (not rub or tickle). For example, when I watch TV, she lies down on my chest, facing the TV, I massage her belly, and when I stop, she'll give me a little kick with her hind foot ^^
Four Paws My cat does something similar. I'll be watching TV at night while I'm in bed. He will jump on the bed, come up next to me, do a few circular, walk-around rotations then just throw himself against me. He lets me put my hand around his belly and give him a belly rub. He likes to prop his hind paw against the crook of my elbow while I have my arm around him. I never knew cats were so much fun till I found this little guy as a muddy, skinny, wet, flea infested kitten. I have had him 4 years now and he is my very best friend in the world.
Glad my cat isn't he only one lol. He rolls over on his belly expecting you to pet it. He likes belly rubs, pats, and scratches. :3 He'll stretch out even further and roll from side to side and "hug" my hand with his paws and try to lick it. (Though sometimes he can't reach and will just lick the air... lol!)
My husband(65) has his first cat.
I have had many cats.
I try to encourage him to watch your short videos if he doesn't want to listen to me 😂
Over the last two years, kitty has gone from 17pounds to 11pounds.
The difference is, obviously, amazing!
Kitty's ability to leap and race around is wonderful!
But it's just the way it should be for a healthy 5 year old cat.
My husband is so amazed by the things he can do now, his energy level, speed, jumping,etc..
🙄
I can't seem to make him understand that his cat is at a healthy weight, of course he will race around and do these things 😂
aw, both of my cats love when I rub their bellies when they roll over
Elaine Turner same
Mine too they love belly rubs.
Elaine Turner same
Cats are quite the individuals, after all.
My old cat never stole food, for example. But she always wanted to sniff what I am eating.
Elaine Turner pppnhokcats
I've had cats that LOVE belly rubs. I have two right now that do and three that touching belly is completely taboo, and one that is slowly turning around to liking it. A lot of what he says are general cat 'rules', but cats are like people, they are individuals with distinct personalities, likes and dislikes.
My cat loves a belly rub and loves an occasional tussle with me. She's a bit different than your description. 🙂
mine loves a good fight! :)
Jackson I am one of your biggest fans! You are the main reason I got a cat because I didn't understand them before I started watching your videos! I just got a new little girl she is the love of my life and because of you I understand her a lot better thank you
My cats, Harold & Mod, love it when I gently rub their bellies. They will lay there purring forever like that...
Mine to
Same with my cat
purring doesnt mean their happy
***** it is, but it also sometimes mean their happy.
***** no
Sadly, I have never been owned by a dog. However, I always understand my kitties by there tail movement. Even my husband who never met a cat before me has become vigilant of the tail of our kitties. Great Info. Thanks for all you do!
Great information Jackson. I agree 100% about how cats are taken the wrong way more than anyone else.
Hard to believe I know, but our cats know to sit when told, stop when told & other things that show more intelligence than we ever imagined! In addition to blink kisses, one even will come up close face to face eye contact & nose bump. Haven't figured that one out yet but it's fine. We have our boy Tigger who showed aggression with former "I've had cats for years & don't know why he's like this!". I don't know either, but patience & love over time have proven that he is an awesome (and very handsome) boy....loves to be loved & ❤️ is so bonded to us...we're so blessed to have him & snatched him before they had the chance to carry out putting him down. It brings tears to think that would've happened.
How to read cat body language #TeamCatMojo buff.ly/1m93dM1
I want to see ways that you can get a unwilling cat to play. I have two cats I cannot get to play at all, and the little plays I can get out of one of the two cats isn't really play. Its stare intently for a few moments. I do get to play with my third cat but she won't stop. I've played with her for three hours and she still has the same energy as when I started.
Carlin Nose second that, deaf ones too. how to make them less anxious and all panicky when being groomed
Kris Stewart some cats only like certain toys, try getting a bunch of different ones!
I've tried every toy I can find. She wont play
Kris Stewart Our cat is old and likes to play with the tiny wrap around plastic that you peel off the top of the gallon milk jug caps. He bats it around the kitchen floor. It's about the only thing he plays with. Just odd stuff like that. Toys he has never been interested in.
8 Reasons Why Cats Make Good Pets.
1. They don't need to be walked.
2. Cats make great companionships with u.
3. They make your life more playful and happier instead of suffering from boredom and dullness.
4. They catch insects and spiders in your house. They also catch the wild mouses.
5. They are easy to care for. They don't bark they quietly meow. They are polite when a guest comes at the door. Using litter boxes are easy instead of taking them outside to do...um...their stuff. (I'm not saying cats are better than dogs).
6. Feed them Catnip and they'll go crazy and play with you. That's the easiest way for them to play with you.
7. They can be funny. Cats like boxes. Sometimes ppl lose their cat in the house and they end up finding them on top of the door, ceiling fan, Christmas tree, under the bed and upside down covered with a crate or box.
8. They act like humans. Cats look through windows daily and they walk outside. They enjoy playing cat games on phones or tablets.(Lol I think that's funny😝.) They literally open doors. Maybe sometimes they look in your fridge to see what you have.
They try to talk to you by purring or meowing.
i've always loved cats and all the ones i've had have been very loving, don't know what people are doing to get their cats hating them so much.
Dank Hyenas Mouses?
Dank Hyenas agreee
Or just get one or two if you want, Let others choose on the good and negatives o their own.
Mine loves to go outside...then runs back inside.
pretty chuffed with myself that I knew all of this already, still great to have my understanding reinforced - thank you!!
Thank you for explaining why my cat peed all over my bed when I was out of town for a couple of weeks! I thought she was punishing me for being gone so long! Now I know it was because she loves me❣
Thank you Jackson! My tabby cat Naomi often presents her belly and let's me rub gently for *a very short moment* but she's not shy about letting me know when she's had enough!
Don’t own a cat, never gonna have a pet, but his voice is unusually soothing 😀
I don't understand, my cat loves belly rubs. I need answers
that what i figured.
Dylan Lutter mine to
Mine too since day 1, she was an alley cat when I adopted her 🤗
Dylan Lutter That's a definite show of extreme trust. Consider yourself loved! ‼️😻‼️
Dylan Lutter same here
I've rescued literally dozens of cats off of the streets in my life, and over the years many of these cats became part of my home and family. And one thing I've discovered is, that much like people, some enjoy a nice tummy rub, and some don't.
My cat loves belly rubs! 😂
So does mine haha
mine too
My cat used to. Sadly she passed

My male cat is so different from my female, he loves me stroking his belly but my girl gets vicious and my male cat has never meowed but my girl does it 24/7🤔
I've found this with all of the cats I have owned! Male cats are mellow while female cats seem to be highly strung.
yeah.. female cats in heat never stop meowing...
DivergentCreeper; Nothing you said is true. I have 6 cats 3 male and 3 female and all of them are chill and "pettable" and none of them meow much. They all use the litter boxes. They get along with each other and the dog (American Staffordshire Terrier). They have their little spats but nothing that lasts more then a few seconds. I wish I could have got a video about 2 hours ago of all of my cats laying on me at the same time. I was trying to take an after work nap in the recliner and all of the cats decided they wanted to nap on my lap. I had 2 on my chest, 2 on my lap, and 2 on my legs.
Hollyjadexx My male cat likes to have his belly rubbed but meows all the time. I'm pretty sure he's inbred tho.
My female cat was actually more intimate than my male cat. She would always want to sleep on my lap for hours and she was very active. My male isnt very intimate with me, he can sit on my lap for like 2min and then just leave and go sleep somewhere else and he is a lot more inactive, even before he was neutered.
When it comes to belly rubs with my cat it depends on her mood, she does occasionally lover her belly to be rubbed and she actually falls asleep because of it
Yea our cat flicks his tail really fast and slams it against the ground when he is really moody or annoyed. I also realised friends visiting does not always back off when I can tell he wants them to and not do a certain thing. Makes you realise how much you learn to know your cat over the years.
Cats aren't difficult to understand if you just take some time and pay attention to them. Let them show you what to do and how to do it, if they don't like it, they show you, you stop. It's when people don't listen to their cats they get problems.
precisely
same goes for people and their human children. it's when you don't listen that you get problems.
Preach. My cat doesn't mind belly rubs and will wag her tail a little bit, when she's content. She's an extreme diva and gets really sad, if I'm not paying attention to her 24/7.
One of my cats likes a belly-rub (to a point), but the other, not at all! They're all different, just like people are - better heed that!
fear is hardly the opposite of aggression. Aggression often comes as a result of fear in all mammals.
I learn so much from you. Especially the cat hug. I had a cat and dog until I recently had to put my best friend down. My dog loved belly rubs so when my cat lays in that position I had the tendency of doing a belly rub and yep she’d bite and scratch. I didn’t understand why until I watched this video. Now I know no more belly rubs. Lol Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge with us. ❤❤I’ve grown so much closer to my cat since my dog passed. They tolerated each other but I think my cat is happier now. I was always close to both of them; however, now my cat spends more time with me. I always feel it’s best to follow their desires. Give them time on their terms to grow trust and love you. I love my cat and has helped me through a difficult time. ❤❤❤
Ever since I got my cat he has always loved getting belly rubs, two out of the three cats we have love belly rubs 😊
I think for anyone that actually owns a cat this is all common knowledge.
Anyway my cat was cool as a cucumber, I could stuff my face in his belly and wouldn't bat an eye. But in general I don't think cats like belly rubs.
my cat is just like this
my cat sometimes asks for belly rubs. when I rub him he starts purring and kneading. it's so cute :D
Yeah
I was surprised when I completely realized that my cat doesn't like belly rubs, I thought the majority of cats love it, but reading your comment, I was wrong :) but i can stick my face in its belly as well and he won't scratch or anything, only if I put my hands
My cat will actually flop over in front of us when we get home or she hasn't seen us for a while, in order to get belly rubs. I thought it was very odd seeing that my other cat hated belly rubs so I assumed most cats did, but having 1 or 2 strays that enjoyed belly rubs i kind of narrowed it down to it depends on the cat.
The tail doesn't necessarily mean agitation it means intense emotions happy/agitated/angry etc.
When I got my kitten last year, I was terrified of him. He was very wanted and planned for, but I never lived with a cat before. Your videos helped me become a mindful cat mom and also a better cat auntie when I visit other cats’ homes.
"Dog colored glasses" Thank you for the info, cat and I appreciate it. Little late on this just noticed but your advice is timely
"As if to say 'you and me buddy.' "
I laughed so hard I woke my kitten up. She's sleeping on my belly.
Jackson! I absolutely adore you and what you do for cats, I’ve been watching you for ages now! I’m on of your biggest fans!! Thank you for what you do. I use your knowledge with my cats 😘
The first year or so after I adopted my cat she LOVED belly rubs. She would just walk up to people and roll over and let it happen for minutes on end. Sometimes she would start meowing or stare at me all confused when I stopped. She kinda grew out of it when we started letting her outside but it was real cute while it lasted
