    I don't know if adding more RAM will make you computer faster, but upgrading to from a regular hard drive to an SSD will. For most people, I think 8GB of RAM is adequate unless you are an extreme gamer or graphic designer. Most new PCs today still com with 8GB of RAM

    It becomes evident that a hard drive and aging parts prove to be no match at all. Using a solid state drive and more RAM proves to be the only source of speeding the machine up as a fresh start.

    I am a complete novice so I have some basic questions.
    1. Do I need to buy a SATA cable for the EVO 850? How will I know which one I need to use?
    2. What are the benefits in adding more RAM? Are there any cheaper options to the Trident Z 16G?
    3. I understand that a lot of these questions need context on what I plan on using the pc for. I’m not a pro gamer but I want a machine with the capabilities to grow stronger and be more than capable of what I want it to do (somewhat) regardless of what direction I want to take it.
    Thanks so much for making these videos. Super helpful!

    • @Planeman777
      @Planeman777 6 лет назад

      It comes with an extra SATA cable and slot for ssd/hdd. RAM benefits are you can run more high-end things like photoshop or similar editing programs/games. Not sure on price, but it has 2 slots, which is kinda low. You can't upgrade past 16GB (2x8GB sticks) which limits some video editing. A thing I heard once is that you would rather have two low memory sticks (say 2x4GB) than one big one (1x8gb) because each stick can only process so much.
      Stock it's great for a casual gamer but the Graphics sucks a bit much power so the PSU has some issues. Really all you can do from what I've heard is the CPU, PSU, RAM, and Graphics. The case is too small and the motherboard is limiting. The processor is an i5 so it's not the best for multiple big processes at once (say fortnite and world of tanks). Not a good streaming one. So pretty much a cheap casual PC. Like I said, all it really needs is a PSU and SSD. I run it stock and am considering a SSD for booting and freeing up room.

    I know this vid is extremely old, but im really hoping for a response. I have this pc. And i want to upgrade to 16 gigs of ram. I think i found that same ram but i hope it doesnt matter. Anyway. It says the speed is 3200 on the 16 gigs and my ram obviously is 2400 normal. Like u said in the vid. You said similar or slower speed on the 16 gb of ram. Will it still work like 16 gigs. Cause for some reason i really need 16 because i cant play fortnite and have discord and youtube open at the same time otherwise my memory goes to 100 percent. And idk why but my games keep using like 100 percent of my cpu. Hope u can help me. Also if i get 16gb should i upgrade my power supply.

    • @fastidiousfoo
      @fastidiousfoo  6 лет назад

      I am confused about what you are asking. The capacity and speed are not correlated. When you have 16G RAM, it will work like 16G RAM. I did not have issues when I was using the same power supply. So I don't think it is a must.
