  • Welcome back to this fun project! In episode 5 of the Mad Max Pursuit Special / Interceptor build series here, we are at the last section of metalwork before we move on. Watch as the craftsmen at Mad Max Cars continue the process of building a fully restored Australian Ford Falcon XB and converting it into a Mad Max Pursuit Special / Interceptor replica. In this episode we conclude the extensive metalwork, repairing rust, dents and collision damage, to bring the body shell back to top condition. Feel free to follow this channel until the car comes out the other side as a fully built Mad Max Movie Car Replica and ultimately gets delivered to the owner.

    Great Site I am almost 60 years old I live in Australia a Falcon Bloke all the way, even when the Coupes were new there was not a lot on the road they were not big sellers and any GT Falcons were even rarer, lots off V8 Falcons, over the years cars in Australia up till the late 80’s were rust buckets around 89 they must have changed the way or the type off metal they were using EA Model Falcons and VN Commodores on rust slowed right down, I have had about 5 XB Falcons I have a XB GT four door have had it for 22 years great old Car it is Snow White only 37 made in that colour same Colour White as the XC Cobra Coupes it is actually a XC Colour My XB was built in May off 1976 second last month off production off the XB GT Falcons only 1950 four Doors from 73 to June off 1976 were Made, lots crashed and a lot just were not looked after they were not valued like a XW or a XY GT and not at all valued like a GT HO that is enough from Me enjoy Your site keep up the great work Mick Australia.

But the fun fact the parts was not available for a few weeks(in a working garage needs be sort asap) so i used the side panels and roof skin off a scrap high roof Transit to create new panels the car stayed on the road for 18 years after that major repair... It's always great when a new video comes up!
    A recomendation: I know that it's not a popular car from the franchise, but you could start building the Nightrider's Pursuit Special from the first movie. It was built with a 1972 Holden HQ Monaro, and it's far less intricate to build than the Interceptor.
    And this is just a personal wish, but in the near future you could branch out and start building other classic movies/series' cars, like K.I.T.T., General Lee, the A-Team van, Herbie, the Ghostbusters Cadi, etc, etc.
    Cheers from Argentina, guys!

      Thank you so much for watching and for your comments! We do actually build everything you have mentioned. We have build quite a few of the more obscure cars from the Mad Max franchise. Such things as the Red XA Bat, Humungus Machine and Pink DeSoto from Mad Max 2/The Roadwarror, etc. We have not had a client request the Nightriders ill gotten HQ Monaro, but we would be glad to build one. If you would like us to build one for you, please contact the guys at www.madmaxcars.com and we will gladly document the build in videos! You will also see videos on our channel for building the Greased Lightning from Grease, restoring a screen used KITT from Nightrider among others. Wish people knew how long it takes to build and fit a custom part. Most of the time you have to do these custom fab jobs because parts are not readily available over here. Some of those small panels are best done this way even though every now and then I get a chance to import a repo part but a lot of the time it comes with a higher expense than you calculated.

    • @MadMaxCars
      @MadMaxCars  Год назад +1

      Absolutely true. We generally find that any part that is available pre-made will be a decent savings over making it by hand. Often a hour or two of fab time is more than it costs to get a part here. Still there is so much not available it is inevitable we will have to hand make some bits before the job is done.
