I graduated from BYU and had to pass fourteen University credits in the Mormie religion. One of my professors told me that if I converted, I would pay less tuition. I said, "I don't pay tuition; I am on a full ride with stipend." As if I would change religion to save money!
I have lived here for the past 10 years. It is getting pretty insane. They keep building like crazy in the barren desert. RE "luxury" speculators and vacation playground fortune seekers under every rock. There are not enough services. Not enough food stores. Wheels dependent everywhere you go. The roads are getting very crowded. Basically, St. Geo has doubled in size since 2014, but the other infrastructure is about the same. I am looking for a better place.
We appreciate the LDS designation. The Members are or should be accepting of all. Read the 13 Articles of faith. Those are the standards we live by. If your looking for perfection in the members then your gonna be greatly disappointed. However, most try their best. The Reality is the Church is about worshipping Jesus Christ. And like Jeremiah 17:5 says; Cursed be the man the trusteth in man.
I don't know, I was raised in Northern Utah, and I know mormons when I see them, and these two people interviewed in this vid most certainly talk and dress just like mormons. Could they be?
It’s heartbreaking the racism, sexism, homophobia and transphobia that come out if the Mormon church. They have Jesus in the title but refuse to follow his top commands and fruits of the spirit:(.
If we want to be politically correct and be respectful with how people identify themselves, let's be consistent and at least use the correct term, the Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-day Saints. With regard to racism, the early members of the Church were persecuted and driven out of Missouri/Illinois because Joseph Smith was an abolitionist, a very progressive stance considering it was decades before the Civil War. He even ran for President on that platform. It's interesting how the persecution and criticism today is now reverse of what it was back in the 1800s. The Church is very supportive of women pursuing education, serving leadership roles in various capacities, and also claims the largest women's organization in the world (Relief Society). One doctrine that is not talked about often is the belief of a Heavenly Mother. In my opinion, this is one of the most progressive forms of theology that is not appreciated enough but of course it does not fit the "extremely sexist Mormon Church" narrative. The homophobia and transphobia is overblown. I lived with a roommate who was gay at BYU and have a close family member who is gay. All of my friends/family who are members of the Church have shown nothing but love towards them. I've been a member my whole life and I never heard a church service where I heard derogatory or critical things of those who are part of the LGBTQ community. Utah in fact has one of the most progressive laws that help the rights of the LBGTQ community, more so than liberal strongholds like California and Massachusetts. For perspective, do you know how extreme some Muslim countries are with their laws and beliefs regarding the LGBTQ community?
@@amybaker1880 I know several who hate g*y and supposedly g*y people to the point of harassing them out of a neighborhood in Provo---and being proud of themselves for succeeding.
Sorry but this constant name changing is ridiculous. Why not just own the word? What should I do with my copy of Mormon Doctrine? Burn it? What about the "I am a Mormon" campaign? Only about 10 years ago! And the name of the Church is too long, but we all know where they're going: They're waiting another decade to re-brand again, to Church of Jesus Christ.
Every president before Russel used the term and Gordon chastised Russel for trying to get rid of the name and said there’s no better name than Mormon meaning more good. Thomas, presumably with Russel too, since they like to claim to be in agreement all hearing from Christ to run the corpora, spent millions of tithe dollars in “ we are the Mormons” campaign.
They don't read or trust the Bible much. A Christian could share the true gospel by teaching from the Bible and helping them trust in what Jesus and His disciples taught. To see clearly that Mormonism isn't biblical Christianity.
@@dannylarsen4290 Ha ha! You don't know anything about the Church apparently. You and I may not agree with their interpretation, but they can out-Bible most mainstream Christians. Try winning them to your side by saying they don't believe what they do, that really works, huh?

Great to hear both of their perspectives. Thanks for sharing!

Great insight from these ladies! 👏🏻👏🏻😊
I loved hearing their perspectives

Only the Spirit can convert
Thankfully, door-knocking, to sell products, services, or recruit to religions is strictly forbidden where I live.
I don't know, I was raised in Northern Utah, and I know mormons when I see them, and these two people interviewed in this vid most certainly talk and dress just like mormons. Could they be?
Made the same reflection 1/3 in. The first lady is in a very conservative dress.
lol yes, this is Mormon propaganda
I grew up Catholic in southern Idaho, LDS did not treat us kindly. I would be nervous to move anywhere in Utah.
Not the Mormon church
the Holy Ghost does the converting
the Lord' wants a covenant people nothings changed his course is one eternal round
Music blah

Yes, LDS Church is designed for people in Utah.
It really isn’t. We are a global church.
No a lot of ppl aren’t LDS and even the LDS ones are chill
A thoight for the wise, conversion is achieved by adopting The Lords Standards.
You better join. What's the matter with ya?!!
Sure! Doesn't every man want an eternal Harem?
Why don't ask them directly? Rather than talking about them?
You're in UTAH.

Who in the Church today is like that?

WE ARE CALLED LATTER-DAY SAINTS OR LDS, NOT MORMONS! 😅😅😅

I say "Mormies" because all y'all are so funny!
i can see more immigrants are going to saint george lol
I like that the first woman used the correct term when she referred about Latter Day Saints. No "Mormons".

She said Mormon several times.
Don't you mean "member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints"? Interesting how Jesus gets left out still.
No, we can still use the Mormon name...Because President Gordon B. Hinckley said it was okay!
Mormonism teaches not to follow what their dead prophets taught, but what the living prophets teach. So Nelson trumps Hinckley. So on and so on.
Why not invite the missionaries in for some cold water and share the biblical gospel with them? God led them to you, but you turned them away.
Share scripture they already believe?
Sorry, I don't understand your question. Please clarify.
@@dannylarsen4290 LdS already read the scriptures, what new Bible are you referring to?
