- In Stern’s "John Wick" pinball, players step into the role of the world’s greatest assassin as he fights to escape his past. As the titular character, players can engage in high-speed car chases and fast-action drifting across the playfield, which incorporates models and artwork inspired by iconic locations from the franchise, including the New York Continental Hotel and the Red Circle Club, all set against a dramatically edge lit New York City skyline. Players can also open "John Wick’s" weapons crate to reveal a hidden shot target path to retrieve an array of weapons. Players must use the sculpted Blood Oath Marker carefully - or risk the consequences. Players need to survive other assassins, complete jobs for the legendary Factions of the High Table, and eventually take on "John Wick’s" “Special Assignment!”
To raise the stakes, "John Wick" pinball introduces Stern’s all-new dynamic combat system, an innovation that brings the frenetic combat of the legendary films to the game. The Stern team has created a new system to control the enemy lights on the playfield, setting the "John Wick" pinball games apart from prior pinball machines, where all lights were controlled by player actions, timers, and random number generations. In this new combat system, enemy icons are responsive to player behavior and will illuminate dynamically around the playfield to challenge the player. The enemies move tactically with this dynamic software to counter player objectives, creating a unique challenge in each game session. The system also features a new action video player that dynamically reflects player action - as you defeat three enemies, you’ll see video clips of "John Wick" doing the same in the films!

Barely even see a gun. Besides the tiny ones in the hidden gun crate... apparently horse riding and the Continental as well as well as stainless steel ramps are what's really what we wanted!!!

Just like making the jaws flop where the shark doesn't eat the ball, there's no harpoon gun shooting at a shark and no underwater playfield. They like to ignore fun ideas...
I'm thinking possibly this will be fixed later in the code. Like in the Jaws Pinball, the art package only showed Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss but not Roy Scheider until he was on LCD screen.
Also didn't the art package for James Bond have the posters of the films he was in, and he had a gun on those? Maybe it was only for that pin specifically.

This might be the worst game you've ever made. John Wick isn't even featured on the LE like huh? No guns then why did you agree to make this theme? The artwork is terrible. All the mechs are totally pointless. Wow what a disaster. This game isn't worth 13k and my guess is you won't sell half that number. This game I'm betting sells worse than Venom despite the cool theme. Stern you've really lost your way.
I agree with you on everything, doesn't appeal to me but Wick is all over the LE? you can't see one of the sides but he's posing with a sword on the back glass and on the PF 2x at least. And ya a car diverter and his trunk is not awe inspiring eh.
Also, Venom is amazing. I can't speak for sales but it's 10x better than Bond
both of you are on it. this looks like trash. what a joke. nothing new to bring to the hobby, if it was my first table I would have brought a fresh idea that's been nagging at me for years not a fan layout with nothing new. wouldn't hate on Stern though.. Jaws, Venom and Foo were all amazing. Just need to get back to an experienced designer.
Its pretty smart for stern to start future proofing the business. The local arcade in town already bought 2 John Wicks before the trailer even came out. Hopefully this is a move away from the home market. The next generation of pinball players won't be able to afford houses, which means we need to go back to an operator's market or the hobby will be dead(again) by 2050.
@@redrum3r why would you care if the hobby is alive if there are shitty machines being put out? just curious why a real enthusiast would care about routes. isn't this about making the best machines possible? I for one would like them to increase the price and quality and move this market to strictly huo. why are we thinking about the plebs?

So I wasn't going to say anything about the lack of guns in the game. I noticed it but wasn't going to say it. Then I also noticed that you specifically used absolutely no footage of him using a gun from any of the films. Which tells me you're painfully aware of their absence and decided not to use any footage of him using guns because it would be putting a magnifying glass on the existence of a weakness of this game that you are more than aware of. I love you guys and I love your games but you have to do better than this for the money you're asking for these.

we don't want the shark to eat the ball. it slows down competitive play (like Adam's Family THING lock) and those mechs always break or never work right (i.e. Stranger Things)
@hitoriwa rofl, you can't be very competitive. Or have clearly never played a jaws. Every single feature on jaws slows down the play. The long slow movie scene that can't be skipped. The post on inlanes that keeps trapping ball. Ability to trap ball on side flipper. Every single person I have met wanted the shark to eat the balls. Rolling through a subway and ejector would take literally 1 second.....

If the reason they didn't put something like a gun trigger on this game because they're trying to shield our kids from the scary scary world, I have to say I'm pretty damn disappointed in our society. Who really knows what the real reason is, but if it's because of this ridiculous PC coddled world we live in, I just want to say, I GREW UP SQUEEZING THE GUNS ON LETHAL WEAPON AND INDY AND I TURNED OUT FINE STERN!!!!!!

Wow, the clear coat on stern games is always a let down. Look at that orange peel rough finish on that playfield.....
Wow, i was looking forward to this, but it looks terrible. The cabinet art is especially bad. The color scheme is a disaster. What a giant failure of an IP with so much potential.

To be fair, I wouldn’t call his kills clean. Wick had to shoot most of his foes several times before they died.

A lot of these new games are starting to become to similar when put side by side. 90s games seemed more unique.
Not gonna lie the weapons crate looks really cheap but everything else looks pretty dope. But how can you make a pinball about 4 movies of John Wick and have him holding a sword and a numchuck and Not one gun in any art at all??

They do that with many of the pros, such as removing the movement feature or removing the toy and replacing it with a plastic cutout.

So the pro has all the mechs stripped out? The car, the crate and the fingerprint thing. Lol. No no no.
I also need to compensate for "things" so I am very mad that this expensive toy that will go in arcades and homes with children doesn't have actual pistols strapped to it and videos of puppies getting murdered in modes. First Jaws doesn't have anyone getting eaten and I don't have to play it while trying to float in the ocean, Rush didn't even have lines of coke in the art, and games don't have bikini babes in with ridiculous chests plastered all over them anymore... It's the death of pinball.

Not caring a bit about connecting with the theme. Why i don't even care when someone says hey sterns got a new pin coming out. Smh.. more worried about tracking your pinball playing habits, than giving total effort and respect to theme and customers, like libs. Everyware, they know whats best. Johnny can't be seen with scary guns, let put a dress on him and call this one Joan Wick!!

It's really cool to see Tim get to be a table designer. He's come a long way since he did the code for Iron Maiden.
He is not the table designer. He is the lead coder. Elliot Eismin is the table designer.

Jaws was to blah looking, plays real well, but didn't like the art. This looks kind of ugly.
Unless this plays great Stern needs to stop making so many and just rmake better pins.

I had been in on this theme as a potential buy, but no guns and mediocre design by the new guy, sorry not a take my money buy. I'll keep playing my Jaws LE.
Hats off to the designer that took up the challenge to design the table without using the main ingredient of the entire film series, unfortunately it wont get my money this time around. Really disappointed.
Sneaking in the pencil was a nice touch! This looks like a lot of fun.

The voice of winston is awesome on the pinball. I would have wanted a better looking muscle car tho. It s one of the forte of john wick , it s too bad that it looks way worse than my sons hot wheels. Nevertheless i m really glad stern released this pinball i want to know more about it !
