  • Mosuo people are the only ethnic group in China that still adheres to the matriarchal clan tradition. Women are the masters and heirs of the family. Mosuo children are raised by their mother and her family. Even if parents have children together, they will still live with their respective maternal families. If a Mosuo man falls in love with a Mosuo woman, he must go to this Mosuo woman’s home for a date, not the other way around.

    Shinzo Abe's younger brother was adopted by relatives because they had no children, so his name is Nobuo Kishi, who is also a politician. It's not good for the baby's mom.
