Computers can be a real pain when things start acting up. I lost the ability to use my main editing program for a scary while.... until I did some much needed maintenance. I'm back up and running, but it is an ongoing job....just to keep that stuff running smoother. I like affordable gear as well. I also look for "better priced" used gear. It is hard to find good deals in today's market...but it is starting to come down a little if you look hard enough. I just found a Keeley Fuzz Bender being sold .... a demo! ... at a BIG savings! Keep checking out those types of options.
Glad to see you Mike! I understand the cost of gear is crazy but in my opinion I believe you could make videos on scales or chord progressions. Tweaking Amps you already have. Simple upgrades you can do to your guitar. Different tuninings and what not. I enjoy watching gear videos but I really enjoy just fun hanging out videos. Use what you have and create fun guitar playing videos. Let's all be good ✌
Thanks for checking. I've had a few setbacks lately. As of now, my computer issues are mostly fixed, but there has been a lot of noise (as in a backhoe) going on right outside my studio, and I had a bit of a traffic accident that kind of screwed up my back. I've got one more bit to shoot on the Squier Strat. I'm just getting to the point where I can do it without looking like I'm in pain. I think that once I get this one done, I'll be able to pick up the pace, at least that's what I'm hoping.
Congrats on the new PRS Mark Tremonti MT15 head! We all should know by now that any time we ask Phillip McKnight if we should buy something the answer will be yes. LOL
I blame Phil a lot, too. And Shane and Landon and Darrell. Always giving me GAS, they do. Keep 'em coming, Mike. The fuzz quest needs a middle and an end.
Mt15s are little firebreathers. Congrats on a cool amp and NAD. You should monetize but also utilize what you have as well as discussion videos that don't always require new gear
im glad to hear you will continue with the fuzz video's. I love fuzz and its new to me as of about a year ago. As far as the money thing goes. Im not very familiar with how it works with you tube but if you can make money somehow go for it. Im 52 and in early retirement and want to learn how to do videos as well. If i am able to do that (with the help of mrs. Ernie B) Im sure any income would help. Glad to hear you will be making more videos. I really enjoy them
I just got a 2nd hand G&L ASAT Tribute deluxe 2 (2 splittable humbuckers). Irish ale finish(medium dark natural mahogany finish). Great guitar, haven't had to do a thing to it, except buff out one surface scratch. Always wanted a G&L!
Yes, monetize, but only if it is easy to do. Getting in a little is better than getting in nothing. Yes, reviewing a few models out of the G&L Tribute series would be my suggestion along with some other listeners. Some accessibly priced amps would be good as well. The MT15 is one I doubt I would ever buy because of the price.
Just watched your Supro BK 10 video and noticed that you have a Peavy classic 20 head. That head also has a 5W mode. It would be interesting to see a 5W shootout including these two amps.
Hi Grumpy Mike - Yes, you should monetize. We want you to keep producing videos and monetizing helps offset your production costs. FYI - "Let's do it upside down on my lap", how did you know that was my most successful pick up line when I was young and doing the clubbing scene?
I can’t wait to see your video review on the Squier Affinity Strat in Sienna Sunburst. I had to buy one after seeing the one that you bought. It looked absolutely gorgeous. I love mine. I also bought an Epiphone Les Paul Traditional Pro-IV in Pacific Blue after seeing yours. I love the Strat and the Les Paul. Thanks for putting them on your channel so I could see them before purchasing them.
Thanks for the kind words. Congratulations on the guitars. I am really glad you liked them. Thanks for watching the channel. As long as you keep watching them, I'll keep making them.
I bought the same affinity for my collection, same color, crafted in china and it was really really good. But then I bought an Affinity HH crafted in Indonesia and that one was really really bad.
Hey, Mike... Brand new sub here... Love NGD videos. My "new" guitar is a 2 year old silver Affinity strat(alder body), I put a MIM Standard neck on it and a Fender professional 2 hss pickguard...CRAZY good guitar! $360 USD all-in.
China Mike is a really good guy. He has been very supportive of my channel. It was during one of his Sunday shows when I hit 1000 subs. The Sunday shows are a highlight of my week.
I'd like to see a Jay turser guitar I have a sg clone from them and love it so I'd like to see if there other guitar s or newer versions . I'dno...good to see ya
No, it's an Ollie shirt. Allen (Ollie) Gelfand. He's the skateboarder who invented the "Ollie" kick flip. He used to live about 100 feet behind me and gave me the shirt.
Funny, after you said you couldn't afford to buy gear, cause this PRS Head will make one review versus two or three reviews if you'd have bought cheaper gear in order to monetize. Not complaining of course, above all you have to buy what you want, and I'll be happy to watch it since now I'm curious.
What you say is true, however, I got this head with plans to sell off a couple of combo amps that take up too much space. Not that I won't ever buy combos again, but for now, I need the space. Thanks for watching. I hope you will stay tuned.
You should monetize. If Google is going to run ads anyway, you should get at least get some of that. I don't think there is a single viewer who would say no, Google should have it all and you should get none of it. Or what am I missing?
No, your not missing anything. I just want to be able to keep it fun. Too often, when money gets involved, it can suck the fun right out of it. I could, however, use the extra cash to help buy gear since I don't really ask manufacturers to sent free stuff. It would be nice if they did, but the last thing I want is to feel beholden to anyone. I don't want to become just another shill on RUclips.
@@grumpymikeguitar as you said. It ain't a lot and growth will likely be gradual. So, initially, it won't get in the way. It will just help. Figure this out along the way. In case I am wrong and the channel explodes and the money starts pouring in quickly... Well let's just say these are not bad problems to have :) This is how I would think about it.
Yup, it truly is a first world problem. And yes, I probably will monetize. I still have to look further into what that really means, "Terms Of Service" wise. In other words, I want to read all the fine print first.
Thanks grumpy,RIP Computer 💻 nice PRS you’re guna love that one 🎸🤘

Yes, but Ms. Grumpy doesn't know that. 🤣
Congrats on your new lunch box. I'll be sure to check out your demo video. Cheers, J
man I have wanted one of those amps ever since Phil interviewed Mark lol. awsome Mike

Hey hey, Grumpy! Congrats on the new amp! An affordable gear suggestion: G&L Tribute Bluesboy

I really want to get a G&L or 2 on the channel some day soon.
Great to see you back brother and very nice amp
Yeah a new Grumpy Mike video!!!!!!

Mike, of course you should make money with your channel. No need to feel guilty about that. Thanks for making content.
Hi Mike .... just subbed during the CGS live video. Good to be here mister!!
Thanks!!!
Just watched your Supro BK 10 video and noticed that you have a Peavy classic 20 head. That head also has a 5W mode. It would be interesting to see a 5W shootout including these two amps.
Cool Amp Grumpy and nice Squire,Phil is a bad influence, lol!
Phillip is an enabler. 😂

Nice amp Sir 🤘🏽
Monetize. Viewers expect it anyway, and it contributes a small trickle towards your costs.
Nice amp!

I was not familiar with these. I just Googled them. I'd be interested to see if they do a Jazzmaster clone.
Thanks for the heads up.
Is that a Powell t shirt?
No, it's an Ollie shirt. Allen (Ollie) Gelfand. He's the skateboarder who invented the "Ollie" kick flip. He used to live about 100 feet behind me and gave me the shirt.
