Now all we need to do is watch a video on wood repair and refinishing 😂
😂😂😂
Remember all wood fixes end up in the wood stove. Nothing to see here😏

😮😮😮It is not easy to find the right size rubber hose, and it is not easy to find the right size screw and nuts. Therefore, going to buy an end cap is a final solution that must be done.
I know. Mine was outside on an irrigation pipe, so non critical, but I just bought an end cap and that's that.
Should always find the main valve or nearest shut off valve first before beginning any work
True but, I think they were only doing it for demo for audience
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Why would you not just put a push fit cap on then take it off when you have the repair prepared.. would be a lot easier then this ... mupet
You assume every part of the world has all the parts you have available in your local hardware store
@jckdnls9292 if you have the copper ... bolts and nuts it's safe to say you could get a push fit cap ... mupet
@@NathWhiteside nope, wrong, try again
@@jckdnls9292 bull shit
Because that would be safe and boring LIVE A LITTLE be dangerous! 🦁
There are expandable water pipe plugs in all sizes available at all the big box stores. I have used them up to 3" and they work wonderfully.
Very good, there sure is.
Yeah, he did it without a tore though
Yeah, but if you got a basement full of random parts and can make one. Why bother going to the store
Doesn't work with higher pressure water. It will shoot it like a bullet.
yes but rubber bullet
Prove it.
@@darrengriffin8609 I don't have to and u don't have to believe it. You will when a 3/4 HP water pump make a hole in your face
Works great to solder or ProPress a full port valve on though.
@@darrengriffin8609 I think you take it personal with every reply u don't like since you deleted mine and I'm guessing u r going to delete this one too
Good, now do it while under 65lbs of pressure
🚀
Exactly
😂😂😂😂
...in the meanwhile ur not able to get everything, why dont u just shut off the valve from where the water is coming😂
Well, this is not always possible. But this is the best option of course 🤗
great for emergency situations, good one
So run a drill on the threads, causing them to deform so you can't remove the nut later. These days, you can just slide on a valve. Like a valve below the kitchen sink. No souldering is required! And only a few dollars.
In which case it would be easier to pay a plumber 💀
If you want a leaking shark bite under your sink. Love all these HGTV watchers that know all the answers. When they try and fix anything, i make 2-3 times as much fixing their "repairs"
@@johnplatt8429 No leaks in my house! I used copper and redid the whole plumbing system! Mster at soldering now! I have one of these slide on vaulves because I wanted to try it! 20 years and its still going strong! This is NOT rocket science!

What an ingenious way to plug up a pipe. Kudos to the person that thought that up
This is the way a boat plug works and there is freeze plugs for engines that work the same way and this is a very good fix it plan.
Joking I assume?
It'd be cheaper to just buy a sharkbite plug.
@@Fluff_Alpaca cheaper to buy something than to use some random parts you might not have even paid for?
@@brookelord3448 The likely hood of you having gas line, the right size bolt and 2 different sized washers, One the interior dimension of your copper and one for the outer dimension both fitting over the bolt size isn't likely. Especially if you are just doing some random plumbing.
Not to mention, good luck doing this inside a wall where you'd be doing this in the first place. When are you going to be working on random exposed copper pipe?
And if you say a plumbing would, I'd sue my plumber if he did this as a fix for my home.
Well I have never thought of that
Now you cannot continue your pipe work though!
Though makes it easier to freeze the pipe if that's your plan
I did that to all my copper pipes in my house.
3 weeks. No leaks!!
And no water out of the tap?
@@michelvangent3683Never turned it on.
3 weeks no shower
What happened the fourth week?
@@donnymiddlebrook The plug flew out i guess 😁
If only they made something you could just push on the end you know kind of push-to-fit….
This is why I always keep Shark Bite caps on hand.
Thanks for the tip 👍
Looks like it got a great seal. Good idea for those situations
But how do I soldier the fitting on over the top of that?
I can’t throw away tool’s either.
I have the same wrench in the old tool drawer.😝
😂👍🤝
Great idea !!
Thanks bro 🤝👋❤️
👋🤝❤️
Thank you so so much mr brilliant
O.M.G....!!!
Very smart idea...!!!
😂😅😂
why not stop the water first ?
Too easy and logical.
That would have saved our 60s watching this crap.
Maybe this is a demonstration of the situation when you can't stop the water, in any case how would we know if it works if we hadn't seen this device stop the water in front of our eyes..
This sort of solution is used when you can't stop the water (due to a broken shutoff, for instance).
Everyone is suddenly a professional plumber
Obviously there was little to no water pressure there
Of course there was no pressure, the end was open. No resistance, no pressure. But there definitely could've been more volume.
Yeah it'll work until it doesn't
It'll always work
@@johnplatt8429 yeah but also no
It’s called a jet sweat, and you can work on the pipe Afterwards
Close a valve
too simple.
As the distance between the nut and bolt decreases, the rubber hose expands, that's absolutely ingenious.
Not enough threads on the bolt for that to happen 😂
Si...
il y a juste ce qu'il faut..
Why is there a copper pipe dangling there with water running out of it? I’m a little confused. Can anybody explain?🤔
Why the fuck would you ask that?
@@Martin-xh1hd because I can
Yep dumb videos keep em coming
Why is there a hand floating in the screen making a temporary plug for a dangling copper pipe with water running out of it?
Brilliant idea
Homemade jet sweat… or and just hear me out, you could just buy real ones that allow you to actually connect something and continue working.
Most people who don't like this "solution" have a hardware store like Lowe's or The Home Depot near their home. Be aware that there are many countries where people cannot get a pipe plug easily. Personally I wouldn't make this because my Lowe's store is located less than 5 min from my home, but I think it's a fearful solution for many people who don't have any other "exit".
The Internet is now not only for people from the First World.
👍🤝❤️
Man: water is leaking in the kitchen tub
Div video: go buy a bolt n nut n electric drill. 10 hours later, house floats
Now that you got the water stopped how is one supposed to get it back out when a coupling and new piece of pipe is put on?
If you need a fast plug for a quick repair. Jam bread in the pipe. Gives you just the time to soldered a coupling. The bread breaks apart and flush out 👍🏻😉
@@assassinlexx1993they also have WAX plugs that look like little eggs.
Finding the right size of holster and screw takes me at least 7 days and by that time I will have a Noah flood.
I'll just grab a shark bite cap out of my box if I can't just kill the water first...
Now let’s try it with full water pressure
Plumber Pimps always know how to fix their hose
Meanwhile, the house is flooded! Just turn off the water...duh!
Guess no one's heard of a ProPress or a jet sweat, huh?
How much more does a compression fitting cost, really.
For all the times you have a supply pipe just pumping water into your house for no reason
Instead of a cap, we have a bolt that can rust thru
as a gasman, this is near EXACTLY what we use to plug broken and open gas service lines. (someone hits it with a car, cuts it with a saw etc)
Bro have money to use only Cooper pipe for house fitting But not for a End cap 💀💀💀
First, do you have a rubber hose diameter to fit in that pipe?
Then what?
just close the valve
Doesn't seem like there's enough threads on the bolt to tighten that far...
Excellent idea 💡
I would put a balvalve on it. Lot easier to open en close 😅
we already have an app for that
But thanks for sharing tho
genius
Thanks 👋🤝❤️
you fr ? :))
Or just use a push fit or compression cap.
Perfect for that very specific leak!
What happens when the bolt gets rust and just turns while trying to unfastening
obviously isn’t a permanent fix
i’d take my pipe cutter chuck it and then call my boss for help
The hell is the point of this?! Leaky pipe leading to no where? Here's your solution.
🙏👍🤝❤️
Maybe try a shark bite valve so you can turn it on or off whenever.
You see it took him more then one try look at the wood
Electricity and water don't mix guys
Rubber was cut short, not enough thread left
Ok so the time you spent finding all that you could have shut off the water or maybe kinked the pipe
Why was that pipe left not connected to anything ?
There is no practical need for it, as it is only installed for this DIY example.
😂😂😂
That was his A/C condensation drain line.
He didn't pay the plumbers their first installment pay,so they've pulled off the job before it's finished 👍
Asking the right questions
It may work for low pressure
Go shut off water....repair it correctly
They already invented a tool for this it’s called jet sweat.
Exelente idea...❤
Why not just shut water off at the main?
That's what the gate valve is for
Or just buy a speed fit end stop 🤔
Nice
Thanks 👋🤝
Now add some actual water pressure.
Use a speedfit cap...
Pro tip: next time you have a pipe thats pointing in the most random of directions spewing water at low pressure, you dont need to shut off the water source and figure out what the problem is or what butcher installed it, simply grab a bolt with a half inch head, a washer with the same, a piece of half inch rubber hose that won't crack when compressed for long periods, another washer with a larger than half inch diameter, and finally a nut for the bolt, put it all togther like this, and a drill, and boom! Your mystery leak is no more. I understand that it took a out 10 mins to get it all rigged up so theres water everywhere now but thats okay, because you also ruined your work surface while cutting the hose.
good till it rust out, electrolysis 2 dissimilar metals.
Now I just need to tell the homeowner that I need to make an auto zone run be right back with the solution
I just shut off the water source
Or get a Sharkbite with a valve
Das ist beeindruckend!!
Thanks 👍🤝❤️
Nha just put a branch on it😊
Buy a SharkBite !
Like a boat drain plug
Will this work if system is pressurized with normal/average home water pressure?
No, just gravity pressure
Bit of chewing gum held in place with some masking tape mate.. will hold til your back on the freeway… then all you got to do is call your mobile provider and get your number changed. I promise you’ll never get any complaints that way!
Something tells me that no plumber ever has done this.
We do this when needed. Just with a real jet-sweat
@@zachg5356 That's the point. You use a real tool/part. Not this crap.
@@DGTubbs true
Who just happened to have the material around😅😅😅😅
All these years I didn't know this. Dangit.
I did know when the water is cut off and you're replacing the plumbing and that water always rises out the top...😏
Bread. White bread. Ball it up and cram it in. It will block the water long enough to Flux and solder then it will just flush thru. If there's a screen in the spigot, clean it.
