  • A year into my studies - time goes fast! This video is a mini vlog of my confirmation meeting and some thoughts/ ramblings on the process. Confirmation (also known as confirmation of candidature or candidacy elsewhere) is a first big milestone in a PhD and boy, I was glad to get it over and done with!

I have seen some things about metaphilosophy and non-philosophy and I lose virtually all my interest in learning. Is there anything meaningful in this? What attracts you?

Great question! For me I don't believe it has to be deeper than any other choice of career. It's important for me to enjoy the day to day tasks, flexibility, travel, and I enjoy teaching - so academia seems like a great choice. The idea of solving problems and adding to knowledge are just bonuses and motivate me as well, but they're much more abstract reasons for pursuing this.
