Having owned both the Yamaha R1 and R6 now, I wanted to talk about reasons why a 600cc is better than a 1000cc. Especially now that I plan on selling my R6 to get another liter bike. Should you get a 600cc bike motorcycle instead?

That freaking blinker is driving me crazy
Christol ikr so many fucken times he does it
If riders can remember to apply the signal at a turn, they can just as easily have the habit of cancelling the signal after a turn.
,😅😂🤣🤣
Thought I was the only 1 😂😂
The amount of times he forgets to turn off his blinker triggers me so hard

Fixed!
When he said “do you ever get a itch on your ear with your helmet on” I felt that
Dude i swear there is a hair spider that magically appears every time i ride only when i get comfortable that single hair spider just crawls around and i can't fimd it in my helmet lol
I'm on a cbr500r for almost two years now. I have been searching for months on my next upgrade but I always fall back to the R6. The new design in white with green wheels just makes it a dream bike I would never get rid of. Especially the sound 🤤
I really enjoyed all your R6 videos. Your mods videos helped me decide what mods I want for my 2019 R6. Glad you're moving up to something you really want, and I'm glad you enjoyed the R6 so much over the past couple years. Cheers!
"Heres why you should get a 600 over a 1000" oh btw, I'm getting a 1000..... 🤦🏻♂️
He already sold his R1
@@DeusBelli76 what's that have to do with anything? He said he's going to be getting an S1000.....
lol. Well he also explained that even though a 600 makes more rational sense than a 1000, bikes are about more than just rational sense, they're (for a lot of people, perhaps not everyone) even more about joy and desire and sense be damned. And joy and desire change over time, it fluctuates.
Might as well just go with it and enjoy whatever makes you happy at any given time, as long as you can afford it. I wish I could have more bikes and swap bikes more often, but my wallet won't let me right now.
it’s gonna be his bike why do you care fuu 😂😂
Mario Fernandez idc what he gets I think it’ll be a sweet bike I just think it’s funny he decided to say it in a video where he says 600’s are essentially better
"Talks about why a 600 is enough then announces getting an s1kRR"
exactly lmao
Amen
The good news is, s1000rr have auto deactivate on blinkers, so you'll be good. I love my 2014, will be upgrading to a newer one at some point soon, can't wait.
good vid, I managed to scoop up an 04 cbr 1k for $2300 as my first bike and honestly I'm glad I didn't get a 600, yeah with a full tank it weighs like 460lbs but the bike feels planted at 120+ and I'm not too interested in tracking the bike or twisties but for me it's not hard to throw the weight around and I'm only 6ft 140lbs. overall it's a great bike for what I'm into, straight-line speed.
I've had my 600 for over a year and I still love it. Its still just as satisfying as it ever was, but I could see myself getting a 1000 at some point down the line.
Yessss!! I miss the days of the r1 daily 100 ! Haha keep it up man im here even if you were on a 125cc bike lol
My first bike was a 2002 GSXR 600 followed by a GSXR1000 some years later. Loved the 600 so much more, so nimble, you can rip it without feeling totally out of control, throw it side to side in turns, just a fun bike to ride.
The GSXR 1000 is on the same chassis as a 600
@@thomassykes8973 Yes, but the mass difference is very noticeable. Also engine inertia is very noticeable the bigger your engine
I think you meant 750* but I’ll let it slide this time 😜😘😂
You spelled 250 wrong
Surely you meant 125
@@steelywheelie3123 No no no, you meant 150cc scooter.
SALTxTHExWOUND definitely 750
750 all the way, hangs with 1000cc and the same weight as a 600cc
If your planning on hanging onto that S1000RR for a long time. M version. Can always keep stock parts aside, and customise still. If the bike does turn into a collectable or hold good value. Drop stock parts back in.
It's crazy to see everyone I watch progressing on their channels since I started looking into bikes 4 years ago.

4 hours on the fz6 today, I think an upgrade is in order.

literally who?
5:50 neat magic trick! LOL
Yamaha R1M 2018 is my dream motorcycle
I'd be buying the 'M' just for the carbon wheels. That much weight loss down low makes one hell of a difference in the handling dynamics of the bike. If you track, you'll appreciate it.
love the r6, but im in the same camp as u. started on an r6, then i lost her into the weeds. Got my confidence back up, then the new r1 came out. loved it, was going to order 1 until i convinced myself i wanted yamaha's m version. ordered my 2015r1m and have loved it ever since. i would make sure that if u plan on keeping your new s1000rr for a while lean more towards the m-model. that extra bit of uniqness definitely adds to the enjoyment of ownership. either way tho, good luck with ur next bike. u gonna love it.
Cant wait to see the BMW s1000 on your channel!! One of my dream bikes 🔥
I love that you are back in Austin its awesome seeing all this familiar scenery
And you can pretty much map out the route he took.
Have a fz o7 and for 99 percent of my ridding it's enough to cruse/quick commute/ hoon. But as soon as I finish paying it off I'm going to add an older r1 to the stable just to have a squid missile for the days I want raw speed and power
Yooo my first bike was a 2005 SV650s and my second (and current) bike is an R6!!! Crazy!!!
I prefer my power band to be more forgiving of my lack of rider skill.. an R1 makes me look like a pro.
Just bought an 06 zx6r ninja, upgrading from a 150cc. Can't wait to be on that thing.
Hi,
a suggestion. Get the M package ( if u have the cash ) . If not base model. Don't stretch yr self. U are a smart .
I would get the M S1000RR, I always wanted carbon fiber rims on my bike.
It’s good to see you staying active with the video content lately.. keep em coming! I just sold my 2015 superduke 1290r and my 2016 zx10r krt edition both to woods fun center and put my deposit on a M model Bmw s1000rr (can’t wait!).
DeSean Dudley damn man. You had the best of both worlds. I would not have made that deal for the s1000rr. Nonetheless, i appreciate all types of bikes. Hope you enjoy the new bike!
Rence Fabian thanks man! It’s nice having multiple bikes, but at the end of the day (you can only ride one)... my duke actually sat around more then my zx10r did.. I noticed I was riding my sport bike more.. no point in the payment or insurance on a bike sitting in the garage... we shall see.. if I decide to go a different route, the deposit is refundable and I could also look into a cruiser to be more comfortable and bring my girlfriend along with me.. choices! Lol
DeSean Dudley you’re right man. Choices choices ! I do agree with your point. You can only ride one at a time. Whatever you buy/ride, I hope you enjoy it more than the last time haha. As long as we’re riding we’ll be good brother
Rence Fabian agreed! Thx bro! The duke raised a lot of attention and was always a conversation starter (didn’t get that vibe with the zx10r as it looks like any other sport bike, lol!)... the duke was unique for sure..
Cinematic looking color grading 🔥
I ride with a bunch of Harley guys and im currently on a CBR500R and soon will be selling it and upgrading to the 600RR. Everyone keeps telling me to just go up to the 1000RR but they dont realize the power difference. They just hear im going from 500cc to 600cc not realizing im going from 47hp to 100hp vs their 87 hp Harleys
Great video once again💯💯
Still think a GSXR750 with power mods is the way to go:) Handling of a 600 and power of a 1000
Equalizer very true brother that bike is the best daily rider super sport in my opinion as well as the Triumph Daytona 675r
That's what I have its perfect a 1000 still starts pulling away a little at the top of its 3rd gear
That's why I got my Triumph Daytona 675
12 reasons why I need four 600cc bikes and four 1000cc bikes. Let's make that video okay.
I can see your point. I have a Bandit 1250S that's roughly 540lbs. The torque and speed are nice, but I can absolutely see the advantage of hopping on a 380-450lb 600cc instead. It would feel like a feather, and still a lot of speed. Maybe something in-between, a 750 or 900 of some variety as long as it's LIGHT!
Idk i got the Yamaha fz1 weighing at 430lb and its not bad i weigh 160lb
I'm looking to get a 2017 R6 in the next week or two (I get my full licence in 4-5 weeks). There's just deals going on right now with the 2017 model... Should I be waiting to buy or just do it and have the bike ready?
I like them both. Both are fun and fast in there own ways. I love throwing around my R6 but my gsxr 1000 rolls on hard core.
If I was getting a bmw I would do exhaust and the basic bolt ons. But I would not change the colors or anything. When it looks Factory but has the other badass components to make it haul ass it just makes it so much better.
I never rode a 1000cc, but I've had a ZX-6R for two weeks and still in low power mode, I think it's pleeenty enough for the street hahah. Had a Ninja 300 for 4 seasons prior to that. One thing I've heard though is that it's easier to tap into the fun zone of the rev range of a 600 and really push it (mostly due to the shorter gearing) and that's a lot of fun on its own. I'd love to try a liter bike, but I feel like it's sort of a lazy powerhouse on which you can just roll on hard from any gear at like 5000 rpm, which, granted, some people may like!
Definitely the M package because of its rarity as a first BMW M supersport and it will keep its value nicely
Usually BMW's M-stuff in the long run make them keep their value better.
U doing this vid to sell the r6 easier?😂
Haha
It's not hard to sell the R6.. nice call though 🤣
Motonosity changes his mind about bikes so often my head is starting to spin
I daily a 2005 r1 on the street because it's easier to ride and more comfortable for me considering I'm pretty tall. For the track/racing I use a gsxr600 because for the most part you can run the same lap times as the 1000s and you can focus on technique. It's always better to ride slow bikes fast rather than fast bikes slow
“You don’t need a 1000 in the street” is like telling a Harley rider “you don’t need a 114 ci bike”
It’s nothing like that at all. A 114 is not nearly powerful enough to be too much for public roads. It was designed for public roads. A literbike breaks every speed limit in the US in first gear.
Gixxer 600 with an M4 slip on = absolute perfect sound
In the process of getting ready to sell my 2017 Yamaha r6 also looking at the new R1s I wish I had the money for a new 2020 S1000rr m edition but that a little too steep for me. if you can afford it bro go with the M those carbon fiber wheels are worth it alone let alone all the other adding like the tire pressure monitor and lighter weight components and it just looks so much better imo over the plain red but I’m not big into red just doesn’t match my personality
Did you change the camera...everything looks so crispy
I had a GSXR 750, lost it in a wreck. Bought a S1000rr and never looked back. Crazy how it weights near the same as my 750 yet has more power. To be honest I tell people when they buy their first bike it's not gonna be pretty. You're going to drop it, it's a learning bike. Once you feel comfortable riding then go up.
How did you edited this episode? What type of filters you used? :) great job :) 🤘 👍
point 2 : is really on the bike , kawasaki zx10r and honda cbr1000rr have higher steering so its more comfortable to than the r1& even the r6 for comparison.
point 3 , live in europe insurance is cheaper since you can write down the big bikes on 100hp on paper.
point 5 : power is your right hand and they all have power modes now .
I would never say to start on a 1000 because the power will blow you away , but after years of exp and once you get that 1st liter bike the power is so addictive .
100% worth it to pick up the s1000rr "m" while the diferrences don't seem that much they definitely add up over the base model. Unless you're buying it with cash as well it'll be cheaper than buying the parts seperately since you can get a nice deal on the finance :D from looking at a few videos people have done it seems pretty competative to the HP4 Race except 1/3 the price. Definitely the best sports bike to buy right now
Same thing like you said about the cars nobody brings the cars up why get a fast car might as well get a cheap slow car🤦🏼♀️
YOU'RE BACK WITH YOUR R666 🔥🔥😱😱
Hey bud, how did you do with the haircut and your helmet? Cause you know how there’s a lot of hair after your haircut so I was afraid that’d mess up my helmet.
I mean you can clean the inside of your helmet.
Yeah the thing about 600cc for me is that in a year I’m going to want to go faster by adding exhaust and tune the whole shabang but with a 1000 I won’t get bored in a year I know when I twist the throttle it will be a warp hole to another universe
Just picked up an 18 R1 a few months ago so happy
@JayStaxks really depends on your riding experience and self control it's really easy to get stupid on a 1000
No easiest way to describe it is VIOLENT definitely fun but very easy to go to far a 600 would be better to start on than a 1000 but still know first and foremost respect it even a 600 supersport is very fast for a first bike bit it's manageable just take your time and don't push your limits to far
My R1 goes 0 to 180 mph in under 30 seconds and go do over 80 in first gear when I say violent I'm talking about the acceleration and torque I can get well over 120mph in the short distance of a highway on ramp
@JayStaxks You're definitely brave (arguably stupid) to even start on a 600.
I'm also a new owner of an 18 R1 and it's my first bike I've owned.. not the first I've ridden but that's not the point. If you respect your machine and gain knowledge and skill and ride accordingly you will be fine. My bike is totally streetable but at the same time I pull over and put it into mode A with launch control on and I'm going 100+ in sub 4 seconds. So take it as you wish, I think my bike sounds insane and feels so much like a 600 as far as being able to flick it around but at the end of the day just dont ride over your head. Not many of us (myself included) get paid to ride fast. So just ride safe and grow with your bike
Hey, how do you mount that mobile phone? Seems neat
i got a question, why you shifting gears so quick after the light turn green?
Most riders will have both at one point. Best to try a little bit of everything and see what you like best.
If you’re doing track riding a 600 will save you a ton of money on tires. I’m not talking about the price difference on the size. That low end torque is awesome but you’ll use up more rubber. My 600 tires last twice as long as a 1000
Getting my first 600cc tomorrow. 2005 cbr600rr :D
how are u finding it
hey what automatic shifter kit is that on your bike, pleeeease tell me shifts so smooth brah?
R1 is lighter than the Bimmer. Just saying and yes. I'm totally biased as I have a 2017 Matte black R6. That I basically bought because of your videos of yours.
I went from cruisers right to a 1000, so I can't speak for a 600. Mine is an enigma though. 2007 gsxr. It's light! 380 lbs dry. I thnk I'd be equally happy with a 600, but it's nice to have that extra power on the highway!
Have you ever rode a vmax?
The only reason i stay away from a bigger bike is here in canada the insurance go by 0-500, 500-1000cc’s anything under the 500 cc you’re looking at $300 a month, and the 1000cc bikes would run you $800 a month. If our insurance wasn’t so expensive i would go over that 500cc.
My 2001 Triumph 955i is 2.50 bucks a month insurance. I know it's an old bike, but still fun.
You should get a wheelie guard and practice wheelies with the CRF! :)
Wheelie guard?
... Wheelie bro?
Enoc Cantero Yeah Short Fuse Motorsports wheelie guard, look it up.
I think it really helps with learning how to wheelie
@@equalizer4633 I bought a pit bike to learn on lol.
@@HuangHangLo this is funny
I have 2016 BMW s1000rr and love it!! I can put in rain mode and it's like a 750. So the newer 1000cc bikes you can change mode and get a different bike 600,750, or 1000cc..Team BMW
bit sad you won't be getting the new R1 but I know youre waiting for the mid cycle refresh. Been waiting for years lol. I can not wait for the next one though if it goes through
Ive had a 750 and test rode a 600 as well as a 1000.....I love the high pitch Indy car whine of the 600 but the crossplane crank made me go 1000 :)
MetalS and what about the 750? 🤷🏽♂️
What about a CBR500R? I have a A2 license(Europe). Any toughts?
I ride a k6 gsxr 750 and love it, I mean yeah there's no class for 750 but I can hang with liter bikes and the same weight as a 600cc
I used to work for the bearded bastard in downtown austin, and of course working in marketing we had to try a bunch of different people and shops over the city, there's one guy who's worked at (avenue on congress, finleys etc) who became our personal shop barber, dude does amazing work, his name is Michael Roach, he's at the Good Life Barbershop on 5th, Cant recommend him enough if you're looking to try multiple places out. Roach is a really good dude.
i rode a 2006 zx6r for around 7 years (it was my first bike), i now have a 2011 zx10r and it’s alot more confidence inspiring as it feels a bit heavier and that makes it feel a bit more planted on the road, you don’t really feel like the wheels are gonna slide out from underneath you. plus it’ll do everything the zx6r will do and more and has ktrc and power modes. it’s all down to personal choice at the end of the day. there is no right and wrong answer. stay safe 👍🏻 love your videos
Miss my 06 636 loved that bike
I have the 2014 zx6r and thinking on going for a 1000cc what do u recommend me?
@@jorgezx6r basically anything you like the look of that's in your budget.
Have the ninja zx6r love that bike just picked up a 2011 cbr 1000rr and wow it’s amazing
Brock yates Awesome. I recently test rode a 2007 gsxr750 and a 2019 zx6r and had fun on both but something about that zx6r it was awesome and while I didn’t hammer down too awful hard on either bike (especially with the zx6r being brand new) the acceleration felt pretty comparable. I’ve only been riding two years (current bike 2008 gsx650f) though but after trying both of those bikes I’m curious what a 1000 feels like.
Getting to blast through the gears of a 600 without suddenly being at 180 is hella fun.
dawson weijers nah blasting through gears of a 1000cc and suddenly being at 180 is fun
I think you need to ride my 2007 Yamaha FZ1.
you always get my dream bikes you got the supermoto you got the new gen r6 and now youre getting the 2020 s1000rr
How did you like your sv 650? I have been planning on getting that next year
I had an SV650 for my first bike. It was a good bike to learn on, but it was extremely underpowered! Then again it is a V-twin and not a 4 cylinder. But all in all it was a good bike.
I'll probably get a 15 or newer s1000rr for my first sport bike because of the cruise control and the extra power 🏍🏍
What age did you start riding bikes?
Motonosity! BLESS UP! ✌🏿 🇯🇲
Montonosity! SHUT UP!😂
What kind of phone mount is that? I need something like that bcs my 600rr has a damper
But having a variety of different cc bikes is nice too, I couldn’t just stick with one bike because there are 230+ bikes on this earth not being ridden 💯💯💯
I’m fine with my k7-600 even when I decide to upgrade here I’m just gonna get a k8-750. Insurance companies see the 600/750 in the same class segment so the insurance doesn’t go up/down. But when u hit that 1000...bruh
Too bad I brought a stretched and tuned s1000rr 2016 version as my first bike and I don’t regret it
The s1000rr is so dope, i think you woulf fit the M colour. But if its really expensive, there is really no other reason
What exhaust is on this beast in this vid?
Dooood great stuff🤘
Too bad your getting rid of your R6 but glad your moving on to newer bikes 👍
Another reason to get a 650 is that dual sports are sometimes 650s and that’s what we all want right?
Great video, always like to see some good motorcycle action! But this topic is flat wore out. I think everyone on RUclips made a video on this topic and a few more variations of it. Topic ideas seems to be running low but this is one that's definitely wore out.
What bike is he riding
Stoked for the S1k!
Please tell me how you're shifting gears without pulling in the clutch!?
@Lil Min I hope.
I love my mt09 it is the perfect balance of sport and cruising the riding position is great for longer rides
And it’s a load of fun
it's just an amazing bike
Which chin mount did u use?
How your bike got stolen?
What are your thoughts on big bore bikes?(busa, zx14)
Gsxr 1000 smoke pair of them
I’ve had a 600 and currently ride a 1000 and i do believe 600 are better depending on certain situations. But once you get a 1000. It’s hard to go back down to a 600, especially on the street.
