Finally a video that shows the Type Folio of the RM PP! There are some shortcuts that worked at least on the RM2 Type Folio: You can change the text size with (as a Windows user) Ctrl + 1 (Title), Ctrl + 2 (Subtitle), Ctrl + 3 (normal text), Ctrl + 4 (Bullets) + Tab (2nd level bullets), Ctrl + 5 (Check box) + repeat (check/uncheck) Ctrl + B (bold) Ctrl + I (italic) and so on. I like pretty much navigating with the type folio, especially closing a document (Ctrl + W), because sometimes the gestures don't work very well (e.g. with totally dry fingers). PS: Seriously, how did you all get your devices so fast? I ordered it right during the presentation and yesterday I only received a message like "thank you for your patience"😂...
Love this, thank you for the shortcuts I was one of the first reviewers of the ReMarkable one they always send me stuff but I actually bought that one so I don’t know it was weird. It’s so funny cause I got yelled at from someone who said I was so late with my unboxing 🤣🤣🤣 I did get my purchased stuff two days before my demo units that they sent me…
You can't put the device in portrait mode when you are in type folio mode because then the screen would flip sideways. Portrait is for using it upright without the keybord. Landscape is for using it on it's side with or without the keybord.
I love the type folio of the RMPP. The typing feel and sound is incredible. However I do wish I could place the text anywhere on the page using the selection tool like almost every other note-taking e-ink device that supports text.
The wobbly lines it creates while you did smooth circles with your hand is crazy 1:48 Kit showed this in one if his livestreams as well. I hope they can fix this with a OS update in the future.
I always like the personal view within your ‚tests‘… your honest option on things that you don’t know how to handle… but that’s the positive aspects in your video: Your viewers have the chance to participate. Thanks, Coach 👍👍👍
Hey, do you know if Remarkable team plan to build a brown type folio ? I loved typed folio on RM2 but as it is expensive, i want to buy a beautifull object and I don't like so much the sad grey/black on this version...
I appreciate watching you walk through these different use cases. While I don't see it as a device for me (color is just not something I am interested in, except maybe for reading), I can see others who would find it valuable. Anywhere you NEED color, definitely. Otherwise, i see it as a nice to have and not really for students at that price point. Thanks again for putting this out there.
Agreed I’m 100% with you though the device is starting to grow on me. I do like a little bit bigger size. It just seems a little fresher which obviously it would make sense because it’s a new device but yet I don’t find myself using the color I’m trying to.
Great video as always Coach! Just got my Paper Pro yesterday. Unlike the Remarkable 2, I'm delaying the purchase of the TypeFolio until I know we can type on top of PDF's. Any idea when that's coming?
Oh wow, that’s a good one. I don’t, but that is a really good one. I’m gonna reach out and see if I can get some answers that would be great for our planners.
@@morningcoach Thank you! I'm using Get It Done Planner and it's a game changer! Being able to selectively type versus write would be huge, especially for those of us that are aesthetically challenged writers. 🤣
Yes = think min laptop it closes over it. Actually pretty cool, small keys but works. I think if you have large hands may be an issue but great carry device.
Anyone have the boox typefolio for comparison. I really like the idea of it but the boox keyboard just feels kind of laggy. Im wondering if this one is maybe a better build.
I’m in a decision to make whether to buy type folio or one the other cases … I already have a brown leather on my RM2 but I found myself overprotective to this beautiful case that I remove it in order to write without damage it . Also I always watch where I put this case to not get dirty … Is the type folio or the other canvas feels more comfort to that type of use ? Because I don’t want to spend so much money and be anxious of daily use (although I like tha leather folio the most)
I have noticed with the single (1X) pinch-to-zoom you've zoomed to the "regular" level of typing. But, can you pinch-to-zoom even more, say 2X (while using Type Folio)?
This is how it is exported to the PDF. It is ahold over from the remarkable 2 and doesn't have anything to do with the typing or what you might see when writing
@Chris-ig9gz - hmm, do you mean that even if we would type in landscape, but "Set Landscape" as Portrait, the final PDF, that we would be able to get , from RM app or by copying via USB Web Interface would be those text matched into the Portrait, right? (If that's the case - then it is pretty cool, and all those margins on a side are there For Reason :) )
Portrait or landscape buttons has effect only when You are not using a type folio. These options change where the toolbar is and influence how You hold the tablet. But when You enable a type folio, the screen orientation is automatically adjusted to the way the tablet is attached to the keyboard. (In other words, hide the type folio and then use portrait/landscape buttons.)
In the recent update there is an option to make margins more narrow or wide. But in general - the margins are that big so there is enough space for comments/notes on the side when You hold the tablet in a portrait mode.
Type Folio features keyboard layouts for US English, UK English, French, German, and Nordic (including Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, and Finnish). These are the current languages :)
Hello, thanks for the analysis. I'm interested in these PRO questions. In Languages, does it have Spanish menus? And can you send texts or written work via Bluetooth or USB C? Thanks, I look forward to your response.
No Bluetooth - on the device - Spanish Menus - support.remarkable.com/s/article/Supported-languages#:~:text=Tap%20Menu%20in%20the%20upper,Folio%20and%20choose%20your%20language. I think you could do USB C - but WiFi with the APP or Email is how most people send - thanks for asking!

I like the way you demonstrate what the device can do, not just talk about what it is.

Agree that that would be awesome. Thanks for letting me know.
I cannot believe how much that keyboard it. I would expect it to come with its own typing pool of staff!
Does the keyboard server as the case too? I assume it folds up to protect the screen?
Yes = think min laptop it closes over it. Actually pretty cool, small keys but works. I think if you have large hands may be an issue but great carry device.

I like it writing my new book on it - pretty picky, but functions well
Is the only way to make the font size larger when typing by changing to the header/title font style?
There has to be a shortcut key I would assume. I don't know it yet, will do some research but great question

I actually like the type folio weird to explain feels good, but is a hair dust collector but I do like it.
@@morningcoach thank you for answering!!
The menus are in several languages, Spanish?
Thanks.
Yes Spanish is supported - support.remarkable.com/s/article/Supported-languages#:~:text=Tap%20Menu%20in%20the%20upper,Folio%20and%20choose%20your%20language.
Is there much difference in size and comfort Vs the rM2 Type Folio?
The weight is only 4 oz difference I discuss a little here - ruclips.net/video/SX5SRU8R2Cc/видео.html
I have noticed with the single (1X) pinch-to-zoom you've zoomed to the "regular" level of typing. But, can you pinch-to-zoom even more, say 2X (while using Type Folio)?
Can you hold shift and press the arrow keys to select text? And then ctrl+x and ctrl+v for moving stuff around?
Portrait vs Landscape? Anyone can help with that - Thanks
This is how it is exported to the PDF. It is ahold over from the remarkable 2 and doesn't have anything to do with the typing or what you might see when writing
@@Chris-ig9gz you rock I was trying to figure that out as you could tell in the video, I got kind of clunky there, but I like to do real videos 👊🏼

Can someone clarify: the margins are always that thick on a typed document, right? Bummer
I asked this same questions elsewhere and apparently they recently added margin preset adjustments so narrow the margins.
In the recent update there is an option to make margins more narrow or wide. But in general - the margins are that big so there is enough space for comments/notes on the side when You hold the tablet in a portrait mode.
Also does type folio for RM Pro writes Greek ?
Type Folio features keyboard layouts for US English, UK English, French, German, and Nordic (including Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, and Finnish).

Landscape/portrait will affect your paper printouts or PDFs of your notes
