I had a neighbor who somehow turned his stock wheels into $2000 wheels overnight. Of course on that same morning, some chap woke up with his $2000 wheels turned into wheel hubs.
One thing that wasn’t shown or mentioned is that if you use a design like the arrowhead (that has a point on one side) you can’t make all four wheels the same. Two of the wheels need to have the points go in one direction, the other two wheels in the other direction. If you don’t, then the two wheels one one side of the car will have the points pointing towards the front and the other side will have them pointing towards the rear. Notice the left side of the car wasn’t shown.
Tomaszenko, I took a look at the Audi rotors and you are correct. They are similar, and all four the same. I guess it’s just personal preference as to how one wants them to look on the car. For me, I prefer symmetry. Could be because I’m a Virgo? 🤪
That is the same problem that rims have on some cars, that they face backwards at one side, just some details that irritate me. Just check out the new electrical Audi , it strange the designers don’t think about it.
Great content for the DIY'er who doesn't have a Grand or Two to spend on their rims. Really prefer to put the hard cash into the bits that matter most like the brakes, drivetrain, or suspension where it really matters most. Liked that you stuck to a basic design and didn't lose sight of the purpose. Thanks again. Very best wishes.
You make it look so easy mate, I’ve scuffed my wheels and was going to get them refurbished. Now I’m going to try and do them myself , thanks for the videos and I’m going to learn by watching you. PS I also want to by a van and give it a go at turning it into a Camper, wish me luck everyone😊😎
Fishing line or dental floss will help when it comes to removing those fragile emblems on the center caps. Just floss it between the emblem and whatever it's attached to. A heat gun (blow-dryer can be used as well) will make the task even easier, as it will soften up the adhesive.
These look amazing my man! YES you have inspired me to go ahead and give it a go, I have a black TT with stand rims on, but I'm going to spray them like you have! they look stunning!
You are a champion! 😲 No need to even clean the rims (while they are removed 😑😑) And no need to change the tires either, which have been dead for 4 years ... You have redone my evening😂😭😭🤣🤣
Just a quick tip to make this process easier ,if the tyres are good and balanced or if you have new ones fitted and balanced ,let the air out and have a tyre shop break the outside bead then get a big piece of cardboard or corflu (plastic cardboard},place a tyre of the same size as on your rims draw a circle on the cardboard from the inside of the tyre cut a slit in the cardboard so it can be slid between the tyre beads and rim as the outside beads where pushed back by the tyre shop this eliminates the need to mask the rim and allows paint to go around the edge of the rim and when they are dry you just pump up the tyre and the bead will pop back on and as the rear bead was not broken the tyre has not moved so the balance is still good and your wheels are ready to go on the car.
wow fantastic as i have four sets of rims that are in need of this process.... now i know how to start it :) Very clear and appropriately edited with good speed to follow steps.
The wheels always rotate... that's the whole point of them.. If you think that you need to rotate your tyres to "even out the wear", then you should get a wheel alignment that will make your tyres wear evenly.
@@johncoops6897 An alignment doesn't change which wheels are driving the car. The driven wheels' tyres are gonna wear much much faster and therefore may need to be rotated.
Yeah, but rotating the tyres on the driven wheels won't make them last longer.... in fact, it probably makes them wear faster since the moved tyre needs to "wear in" to it's new position (eg: feathering of the leading edge on tread blocks of driven wheels). Stop and think about it - in what way could rotating of tyres possibly make them last longer? They wear as they wear! So if the driven wheel's tyres are wearing much faster, then simply replace those TWO tyres when required. The main reason that tyre manufacturers suggest rotation is because then they can sell you 4 new tyres at a time. For the consumer, it simply mean a larger upfront purchase instead of just replacing pairs of tyres as needed. Also, you waste time and money going to the tyre place for unnecessary labour costs that achieve absolutely nothing..

Captain here. To eliminate paint creep when applying your second color, spray the first color over the edges of the masked area, let it tack up and then spray your second color. The first color will creep under and simply make a wetsandable spot that is completely invisible when finished and leave you with a sharp transition.

Same as what I thought
they’re pretty much ttrs alloys

The only issue is that because of the spear head design they are now directional, so you have to bear that in mind when rotating the wheels.
