    I love this idea! This is me!! I waste hours on Pinterest saving ideas I'm going to make one day 😂
    Just this week, I've made 2 cardigans from my saved list for our new grand daughter, and am halfway through making her a mobile for over her cot.
    I've made bread, and 3 dinners from my saved lists.
    Also using up lots of craft supplies, and store cupboard ingredients, so not buying anything too!
    Great video, and new subscriber from the UK🇬🇧

    Your binding was cut straight. Cut it on the bias and it will curve smoothly around the curves.
    But well done!
    I stopped saving ideas many years ago.
    My rules are: Do something and then maybe blog about it. Only if I have no projects to do I read other blogs, scroll Pinterest etc. until I find something to do. Or if I have an idea and want to see if others already have done it and how. Then I make it myself.

      Ahh that makes sense haha sometimes I get so cought on the project I don't want to stop and make some research 🤭 that's a good method, I should try that too, otherwise sometimed I get frustraded about how many wonderful things people make and I want to try them but don't have the time or energy. Thank you for your kind comment ✨️

      Yes, I agree, the binding will work better on the bias.

      Yes cut the fabric on a 45 degree angle to make bias binding. If you need to stitch two lengths together to get one long continuous strip long enough to go around your project ; you need to pin the two ends of your bias cut strips right sides together at a 90 degree angle. Then mark a line from corner to corner and stitch so that when you open the strip you have one flat continuous strip of binding. You can trim off the remaining strip if you prefer but press the seam open so you get a nice flat binding. The RUclips channel American Patchwork and Quilting has a great little video tutorial on making bias binding and joining it together.

    Hi there. Your video popped up on my generic feed, and I couldn't help but watch until the end. Your creations are amazing and I love the idea of thrifting old clothes and fabrics to upcycle into a new project. I am currently making 7 circle wall art pieces, each as a Christmas present for 7 family members. Each are personalised to them, I have based the personalised them on a subject they enjoy. And to make these wall art pieces sturdy and tough, which helps give a little weight to them, I am upcycling a lot of cereal boxes. Such fun! I have new projects in the planning for when I've finished these. I also would love to expand on Sashiko stitching, as the decoration stitches to made on the tablet pouch was that. Took me back to those creative ideas once again! So thank you, your video is amazing. Also, very wholesome. 🤩🤗

    With your bias binding if you can’t cut the whole binding on the bias at least the parts going around the curves then sew the inner binding down first the part that is going to be on the inside of the flap fold the binding over to the front turned under ironed etc then top sew over the very edge of the binding for a neater finish but hey it looks more Weasley the way it is, and I had never thought of doing a cover for the I pad over the bought cover I have made one for the power pack from inkle loom strips

    What a coxy and inspiring video! I would like to try an embodied bookmark. I have had several ideas pinned for a long time, and have all the necessary materials at home already.
    Re the bias binding not laying flat: it's is a little difficult to tell, but it appears to not be cut on the bias, diagonal to the grain of the fabric? Also I have found me-made bias binding (as opposed to ready-made) to need a lot of ironing to lay flat in the first place, and then some final ironing once it has been sown into the project. Regardless I loved your quilted patchwork pouch, especially the embroidery detailing. Well done!

    • @estelsogo
      @estelsogo  Месяц назад

      Hello! A bookmark seems like a great project to take action, because it's quite small 😊 for the binding I cut a long strip of fabric and then iron it. I could try and practice on small projects to see what works better. Thank you for your comment! 🥰

I don't scroll on Pinterest and all but I saw someone on RUclips make a whale pouch and it is my obsession now, I already have a lot of work in progress but I absolutely need this whale pouch XD I guess my challenge will be not taking any ideas suggested by RUclips algoritm and progress in my stuff. And it's funny because watching your video I realise you can patchwork even the little scrap of fabric, with enough seam allowance... Because you can sew the scrap on a bigger piece so it create enough seam allowance XD
