it's been a month , i discovered your channel and its like , found a oxford of Animation , great man I love your work technique ,work just everything you do is amazing . thanks for sharing your knowledge , looking forward to learn so much from you
Great work as usual, Olof! PRO TIP - In After FX, instead of making a comp with tons of layers of the looping walk, simply right click on the imported animation file and click on "Interpret Footage" and select "Main", or hotkey = Ctrl Alt G Then at the bottom of that pop up window, under "Other Options" simply change the Loop to as many times as you need! Boom, looping footage forever!
i would love to live in a beautiful area like that, having access to beautiful shots anywhere you go sounds like a dream. I live in the uk, where everything basically looks the same and theres no verticality whatsoever
the fake 3d on the ground is genius. seems like it wouldn't been too much work to push the rear mountains back in space too if you could separate them easily enough. beautiful work, really nice walk cycle
You're style is amazing! I always feel inspired watching all your videos. Can't wait to see the final film. You should consider selling a bluray disc of your animated film for fans... with some more behind the scenes stuff too. I'd pay for that in a heart beat! Rock on olof!
10:34 I was looking for this for years! It's really quite specific information, but I've never seen such a practical way to solve this! Thank you very much!
You have no idea how much you saved me I had the same problem with a character I animate but thanks to this thing of advance composting setting I make my previous 2 steps 24 fps character to 12 fps and thanks to this setting it works perfectly in my final 24 fps composition thanks my friend you are an angel 😇
Truly inspiring, And most importantly.. Very helpful and motivating! Thank you Olof for your hard work and time to share this process. I can't wait to see the Film :)
I can't wait for your film to come out! It just looks so nostalgic and warm and the fact that its made from one person blows my mind..Amazing stuff keep it up!
Thank you for this insightful tutorial! Especially love the part where you talk about "little" things in the composition phase like faking 3d with the grid distortion. I feel like these little rips and tricks are really hard to come across but can make a great difference in productivity sometimes (and creativity too!). Thank you!
realy enjoying your videos, Olof. i dont claim to be an animator of your caliber, but generally in AE when making loops that share an identical start and end pose, i believe its best to omit the first or last frame when looping as that pose will then get doubled as the loop cycles. But maybe you accounted for this during your drawing process. In this case it looks ok, so maybe you did, but if not, just a tip :) keep up the great work.
Thanks for uploads and keeping us in loop as well . I know you are busy person but whenever you feel comfortable please make a beginner guide which explain who can do this type of animation and where to start and how to start and what financial benefits will this work hold . I work as Graphics designer for now and really wanna scale my skill in animation as I like this work and watching this is so satisfactory but I do know its work of alot of patience as well
If you want to loop your walkcycle you can just drop it in your AE comp right click "enable time-remapping" + alt click the stopwatch and add: loop_out("cycle",0) voila no need for extra comps
I love your channel so much! I always learn something new and watching your videos really inspires me . :) I have a cool tip for you for looping your comps in AE. You don't have to copy and paste it and align it to the right place a hundred times. You can very easily use the loop expression. You simply need to active time replacement on your layer, then go to expression -> poperty -> loopOut. It immediately loops your comp indefinitely. It's super easy and will safe you a bunch of time and work. ;)
