- After experiencing starting issues in my Audi RS4 B7, i decided not to faff around with relays and diagnosing wiring issues, etc. and go straight for Starter Motor change. This is a quick DIY tutorial. With all the right tools and about 3-5h you can do it on your drive.

Exactly the DYI I need for my RS4! Thank you!
Glad I could help!
love that you get credit from your little one for your hard work!
She is the best and most honest fan 🥰
It’s time for my mine, having a delay in turning over in the mornings. Appreciate the video you made to help out. Спасибо ! От Колорадо
Glad I could help!
great tutorial man. quick, great info, no bullshit. just be careful lowering the car next time 😆
Will do cheers. Happy you like it
Nice one mate good to know when mine goes good vid
If this video helps at least one other person I would be happy!
Thankyou, interesting for the future if mine fails. You say to replace the bolts on the engine mount
Yes you must replace those bolts. Contact main dealer. Not very expensive
3.2 fsi. Needs new starter motor...I'm funked, last time I needed to replace a light bulb on the rear, I had to take apart half car. Not to say about my front ballast...
yep that VW group for you...
Great video
Thanks man! I hope someone will find it useful
Thanks! Appreciate it
nice one mate!
Thanks for the visit
Do you recall specifically the tools needed?? Didn’t look like a terrible large amount. 16mm socket for the starter bolts?? 13mm for the cable on the starter, 13mm for the motor mount nuts, ball end Allen 6-7mm for the motor mounts?? Just curious, if going to do this at home and curious
Fantastic job great info, if you don't mind me asking what miles on your car?
Thanks mate. It’s on 115k
V8 sounds sweeet! Just needs a turbo (or 2) Another project for you? :D
Hahhaha don’t you start! It crossed my mind a number of times! It’s just too nice to ruin with a turbo.
Subbed for more RS4 content!
ill try :)
Have you had any coolant leaks from the back of the engine yet nice vid by the way
Thanks! no no coolant leaks.
I have a 2008 B7 RS4 I checked my relays (relays 645) they seem okay. I checked my switches they checked okay. So I was going to buy the starter and I was ready to take it out and I found like 16 gauge or 14 gauge single wire just unplugged. Plugged it back in and it started.
Can you specify more I didn't understand what is 16 gauge or 14 gauge single wire ot where its located sorry english isn't my first language and i have same problem & want to test your method before changing the starter, i already done checking Almost everything in the car
What is the 16 gauge or 14 gauge wire u connected
Cheers mate
Is it the same on the S4?
I wouldn’t be able to answer that 100%. But I have a feeling it would very similar location yes
Does this work for S4 b6?
Were you able to confirm this ? I'm curious as well for 2007 S4 Thanks !
This is why I only drive old cars lmao
Does anyone k ow if this is the same on the b6 s4?
if not the same but very very similar.
@@RuskiWeldFab I hope so cus my starter is going out and there r no videos of just a starter
Mine has just gone on my rs4 so do you fancy doing mine for me 😁
ermm thanks for your trust but i would have to decline haha
@@RuskiWeldFab Ha ha! No worries. It needs a full service, new injectors and a carbon clean as well so I'll get them to put a starter motor on at the same time.
Placing any starter between the engine and motor mount is insane , its asking for starter failure .That is the absolute worst design ive ever seen.the 3.2 is just as bad .
no space anywhere else
Awesome, I just need my 3.2 fsi's starter motor replaced.
