    So... this is my husband's old PS4! The Witcher sticker (right down to the bubble in it from not applying it properly) is in the EXACT same place. We took it to a shop in Ohio who couldn't fix it, so we requested they dispose of it for us and we bought a new console.
    We're in the middle of cleaning out my console, and that's how he stumbled across this video. SO WEIRD to see our playstation on RUclips! But hey! If it helps someone, then we're all for it.
    Note: this could be someone else's PS4... but we are both about 98% sure this was our old one! The sticker, timing and model all line up!

    • @JonathanJE3
      @JonathanJE3 4 года назад +2

      @@jasonirizarry6851 less than you think and be careful about spreading as paste like Arctic Silver, although one of the best thermal conductors, is also a great electrical conductor. So don't get any on the board. I recommend to clients and beginners to use Arctic Ceramique 2 as it's not electrically conductive. This works great and the difference in temp is negligible.

After hours of searching on RUclips and trying different solutions on how to fix this issue I came upon this video. • @Strange_Man1911

      Yes. The fan will get clogged up with dust and that damages the fan. It's best to replace both the fan and thermal paste while cleaning any dust under the power brick and motherboard. The fan needs to move freely and effortlessly when it operates to work properly.

    You didn't seem to mention how you got the little wire connected to the motherboard from the fan at 11:35.
    I ended up having the wire ripped off because you forgot to mention it. But it has been resolved by using a thin object to push them back in place.
    Other than that I followed the instructions but I don't have the thermal paste yet, guessing that will stop the ps4 from overheating as now the ps4 turns off from overheating a few seconds after turning on even when the fan is working.

      Thank you. Extra thermal paste will be detrimental. The right amount is just enough to cover the surface. We recommend arctic silver 5 or thermal grizzly both which we sell on our website at www.fasttechstore.com
      Hope that helps

So although I successfully replaced the fan now I need to replace the WiFi antenna. Smh..... minor sacrifice for doing it for the first time and saving money on someone else repairing. Thank you for your videos.

      Spilling any kind of liquid in an electronic device can be catastrophic. You might not see symptoms right away but over the weeks and months corrosion will form on the circuit board and cause big problems. Since your post is a year old I imagine you are seeing symptoms by now unless you cleaned it out right away. Would be interested to know.

    • @fasttechvideo
      @fasttechvideo  4 года назад

      @@alienunleashed Vodka and fizzy drinks are not the same type of liquid. Vodka is the best kind of liquid you can spill in or on an electronics device since it evaporates quicker than pure water and actually has cleaning properties like medical grade rubbing alcohol. Fizzy drinks/pop or soda has sugars that can be extremely corrosive over time.

      You have it wiggle it side to side while you gently pull it back. The part that connects is more like a cartridge and not the entire connection if that makes sense. You'll see it start to slide out after wiggling it around a couple of times.

    instructions unclear: my APU has a swiss army knife stuck in it now.. lmao jk bro this is a SOLID video for tear down and a thorough deep clean! also, a side note from reading comments is that a lot of people don't actually know the purpose of thermal paste/compound. With that being said thermal paste is there to create a CONDUCTIVE THERMAL BOND BETWEEN a CPU/APU and a heatsink. So, for all those people asking if "they really need thermal paste" the answer is YES. Dont be the guy that fries your processor because you skipped out on $5 thermal compound. *end rant*

    Finally I was looking for a video like this, but a question though, this is the first time that I see thermal paste being spread, I'm an engineer and assembled several personal PCs and even teachers told me that deposit a small amount of thermal paste onto the CPU and close and it will spread evenly by itself, never to touch it or spread it before, so my question is if is this normal practice or something you just do when replacing thermal paste, thanks in advance my friend.
