It's a subtle thing, but 2:28 is an excellent game design choice. From a cinematic standpoint, the player can see Kudgel intimidating the Kongs by swining his club... but it also serves to show the player how far away they need to be to avoid getting hit! Because Kudgel is so much larger than the Kongs, the player wouldn't have a decent idea where a safe spot is unless shown :)
GAH! I absolutely *despised* those gas shots K. Rool shot at you. I’m pretty sure I always ended up losing either Diddy or Dixie when it came to that part lol
I don't know if they already exist, but if not, then I came up with two shocking theories about this game - ~ 1: The Ghost of Krow The first boss of DKC2 is Krow, right? Well, it's hard to convince this theory is true, unless you played the GBA version of DKC2. When you defeat Krow in the level ''Krow's Nest'' at Gangplank Galleon, the first world of the game, you might see a GHOST of Krow rising from the body of the bird, to fly off to a wood full of ghouls. When you as the player arrive there, you'll finally meet that ghost at a spooky shipyard. With THIS in mind, could it be that the spirit of Krow is seeking revenge on the one who killed him, that is YOU?! ~ 2: A Seal's Journey When you are about to enter the second world in DKC2, you immediately see a wreck of a wooden ship that is sunken in the lava stream, it's called the Lava Lagoon. There you meet Clapper, a cute seal that cools boiling lava so you can swim in it. But here's the thing: how did Clapper get into that wreck surrounded by a sea of lava? The next level where you meet with Clapper, is in the fifth world of DKC2: K.Rool's Keep, in a level called Clapper's Cavern. In his own home lair, Clapper is seen freezing water with his ice-cold breath, so the Kongs can slide ahead on the frozen ice layer. Now, during the final boss of DKC2, in the Lost World's Krocodile Kore, when you defeat Kaptain K.Rool for real, he is seen dropping down into the core's giant beam, which makes the whole island shake and finally, when Diddy, Dixie and Donkey Kong are at the sunset sea, the big beam BLOWS through the entire upper half of the island - including the fortress where Clapper's Cavern is held! That means that Clapper must be KILLED together with the other non-flying inhabitants of Crocodile Isle! The poor Clapper, who just helped you on your quest to rescue Donkey Kong! Fortunately, we see Clapper back in Donkey Kong 64, so he escaped or at least survived the explosion. And so, one of the CUTEST animal friends in DK history lives on!
Oh, yeah, maybe I forgot to mention that Clapper the seal is a very good swimmer, and that he already felt the vibration coming. So it could be that he swam his way through the island core and escaped the explosion that way.
@@Issachar-northern-kingdom I looked at some screenshots of DKC2 Pirate Panic's cabin and at the shapes of the landmass shown on the map, and I must say, your theory does hold some water. It could indeed represent the Northern Kremisphere we'd see in the sequel, which ties the events of the second and third games in the DKC trilogy together. It is completely possible that after Kapt'n K.Rool escaped the sinking Crocodile Isle, he retreated to the Northern Kremisphere, where he started constructing a new scheme, setting the stage for DKC3. ☠
@@Issachar-northern-kingdom If you mean, where did it come from when the Final Battle of DKC was about to start? I am not 100% certain, but I believe it sailed from Crocodile Isle to DK Island, and after DK and Diddy defeated K.Rool aboard the ship at the end of DKC, K.Rool sailed back to Crocodile Isle, where sometime later, at the beginning of DKC2 it got stuck at a bank near the island when K.Rool possibly intended it to rest somewhere at the, back then still existing but overrun by nature, Krem Quay.
JESUS this game was hard. Like, too hard actually. I'm astounded know that I fully beat it so young. That's right, I beat ANIMAL ANTICS when I was 7. Took me 2 days. Never again.
Oh my god the Kleever! Man when I was a kid that took me forever! Took us forever actually! My 2 friends and I just took turns trying to beat it and we failed so many times! I could never forget it! We just couldn't figure out that mofo!
I always had a hard time with Kudgel. I dunno, maybe my dumb younger brain just couldn't wrap itself around "stay under him and juke so he essentially bounces in place." King Zing was rough too. I don't remember much about Kreepy Krow. Never got the true end of the game, but I did manage to beat K. Rool after many tries. Good games. Shame I never really got into them back in the SNES era. Was far too busy with Breath of Fire and Secret of Mana, I guess. Grew up on RPGs.
This game unreal brought update or did Mario did u could create your own levels that would sick specially today's world graphics way better would make the game 1000 times better 🔥🔥
Guys, is that a smash bros symbol at that box on the right of K. Rool's boss stage? I may be seeing things but this looks too familiar. This game is from 1995 while ssb64 was released at 1999.

Kudgel was my favorite fight by far. The music just went perfect with all the jumping he did
It seems here that Krow takes 4 hits, Kleever and Kudgel take 6, King Zing and first K Rool take 9, Kreepy Krow takes 3, and final K Rool takes 1.
K. Rool's "this is gonna suck" look on his face when the Kongs throw his cannonball in his blunderbuss. :P
That's no blunderbuss, that's a musket he's using!
@@gravitybeetle4921 And then when the cannonball finally blows up: *koff* *koff* *koff*
1st Country - lonely, tropical, around the Woods
2nd Country - KILL KILL KILL SO DARK SO HARD
3 Country - mystery places, but happy :D
this game also had a "pirate" theme to it, as well as exploring mystical places.
I love how kleever the second boss name is
See what I did there?
Ur very kleever
Such a kleever pun.

I never could get past Red Hot Ride until I saw a tutorial.
@@TailRecursive , and now you’re 18 years old.
@@JWBabaYaga damn wtf
I love the fact that k rool legit hits DK before the fight starts
Jealous to see you beat King Zing so easily. I had so much trouble with that boss...
The last fight is ridiculous kudgel pulling out all the cheat codes 😂😂🔥🔥
I literally just realized all of the bosses' names start with K, that's a nice touch
GAH! I absolutely *despised* those gas shots K. Rool shot at you. I’m pretty sure I always ended up losing either Diddy or Dixie when it came to that part lol

Epic Donkey Kong punches King K. Rool outta here.
Why couldn’t he do that for every boss in the previous game...
best bosses and best boss theme in the DK series

I really wanted Trenchcoat Pirate K Rool as a skin in Smash Ultimate. Oh well, happy to have him all the same

Animal antics was the reason I didn't finish that game. I just physically couldn't fucking do it!
ANIMAL ANTICS is fucking insane. There is no level in any of the DKC Trilogy that is as difficult as that one.
Ricardo Cantoral agreed
Same here. I can't beat it as an adult though :[

DIDDY KONG! USE YOUR UP-AIR
Samwad *buzzer sound* WRONG! Diddy can only up-air in Smash Bros.
6:58 I guess Rare studios are the only ones who know how to kill a ghost
And a symbol that vaccumed up the ghost

Does anyone else notice a SNES controller in the background of the final boss?
Mikori omg you’re right
I SEE IT!!
I always hate the bees mainly because they gave me a hard time in donkey Konkani country for the gab

Never gets old watching DK crank K. Rool through the roof.
Everyone fantasy violence

The final K. Rool fight here took about 1 minute and 8.03 seconds (from K Rool firing his first shot to him shooting up into the air).
the kaptain K. Rool battle is my favorite!!!!!
Is nobody going to talk about the regular boss theme being awesome??
When you do the final boss music at slow motion 0.5 it sounds like the Super Mario world Star world
So the fight against Kreepy Krow was the original battle against Skowl in Tropical Freeze.
In game two donkey goes missing
In game three diddy goes missing
In game one the bananas go missing
YEET 21
In 3 Diddy and Donkey goes Missing. Not only Diddy :P
Out of all the bosses in the dkc series on the snes dkc2
Has the best ones.
Is Kerozene controlling Kleever at the beginning of the Kleever boss fight?
Something is up with how you did this because King Zing moves fast after the second hit! He was moving the same speed throughout which isn’t right!
did anybody ever notice the pipes all around the power source in the lost world boss fight??
Try Mario wii U
All bosses
The legenden of Zelda breath of the wild bosses

Know what I realize something every single boss in this game starts with a C or a K isn’t that interesting.
was it just me or was Dixie twerking during the first boss
What if...
Donkey Kong met a pregnant woman?

ODD Bin you're crazy.

Super Mario World.
Tool assisted. The player took a hit at 2:00 but did not lose Dixie.
Nope, you don't take damage from touching Kleever after he got hit.
