@ on your false color did you over expose a little bit? Looks fantastic! The child shoot that has the backlight with almost no fill on his face is amazing! Thank you for sharing!
I'm currently getting offers to buy the pyxis and a set of two dzofilm pictor lenses to become my main shooting camera when the komodo is not available to me. maybe even when it is, I would rather stay with 2x braw cameras. I've been shooting with the 6k pro for 3 years now and really like it, the form factor is a bit strange and since it's value keeps going down it seems that I should possibly sell it and upgrade. but just realized it would make most sense still to keep it as the b cam and that way have two of the same brand cameras for everything I do. I feel like I need to take all my different rig parts with me to the shop and see what parts I might be missing or what I need to add in. I really like the big plate in the bottom you have. my cage has been from tilta with the 6k and the good thing is that it can be directly mounted to my tripods without adding another plate. And then my other v mount mini plate slides nicely onto the cage and can mount directly to my peak design mini tripods which is nice when doing quick doc shoots as I cant carry a bigger tripod with me.
I love the Bolex/pistol grip ideas. I have never seen anyone do that before. I am curious why you didn't mount the pistol grip on the bottom so that the camera could be used in a landscape orientation as this will be the most common use. You only mounted it on the side for portrait shooting??
@@barrywallisable typically on other cameras I have but having the screen on the Pyxis it made the more sense, but on the bottom would work too with a monitor.

I would never switch to % on any Blackmagic camera, because they are notorious for not giving an accurate remaining percentage due to manufacturing variations. Almost everyone I know relies on figuring out the cut off voltages and using those instead; however, if one were to use the percentage I wouldn't trust it below 30%, ever.
@@billyoung9538 I do see your point on the voltage generally when it turns red for me I do the switch. I wish they had more of a percentage based option, would be ideal.
That bottom handle stopped my scroll, had to click & watch 😂
Thanks for taking us along on your Pyxis experiments and discoveries. I really dig that "Bolex" setup! Genius!
@@thebunn thank you! It was too dang long :) thanks for the support! Appreciate it!
This really is a well thought out camera.
Thanks for sharing, this is the video I’ve been asking every new Pyxis owner for.
Cheers! Hopefully it helped clear some things up.
@ It did 👍
Loved how in depth the video is! subscribing now.
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it.
Great video !!! ✨
Thank you so much! It’s very helpful! The footage looks great! Did you over expose? What’s that a canon glass.
I used a canon fd 35mm scc lens. I shot at 800 iso with ND!

Really wish black magic would release a lower cost vf for this camera or an adapter to use the ‘pro’ one .
Hi, Love the video! what's the rod base plate at 9:35 ? and secondly what's the tripod plate under the dovetail?

@@billyoung9538 every camera has something I would change, but again for the price and image quality, it all depends on your needs.
