Great vid Martin, thanks for taking the time to do these-they are so helpful to all of us looking to venture further afield but are a little nervous lol Have a great holiday J
Really enjoyed this Martin. It’s great to see you relaxing and enjoying your caravan. Some lovely places to visit, just what we look forward to doing on our tour. Thanks for sharing your footage 😃👍🏻 Trev
We are hoping to get to France next year, would be our first time in the caravan, have no idea where we want to go, so watching as many of these video's as we can👍
Hiya... looks great but you're much braver than I would be lol...... really hope you're having an amazing time cheers Paolo and Roger 'The Camp Caravanners'
It is good but not cheap these days to get over here. We only came as it was an existing booking from before Covid. Would have probably gone to Cornwall. Thanks for watching
Hi Paul, as caravanners we often buy things because we think we need them when in a practical sense they are just a pain in the arse i.e the Cadac! First site was great 👍 Thanks for watching
Hi Martin looks like your having great time. Must try France again. Found the last time I went not menny of the locals speak English bit ignorant really 😉 . Enjoy
We go every year Steve, it’s no problem at all, everything is pretty well signed out and the ground staff are helpful, we have used Dover and Poole and I’d say they’re both similar. Driving in France is also a lot less stressful than this side, especially if you pick a site like this one that is literally 5 minutes from the motorway
@@paulefc1971 thanks Paul, I’ve driven over to France and Germany so don’t know why I’m concerned about towing. Just need to bite the bullet 👍 I’ll start planning for next year!
It was only when you went into town that I realised we stayed at this campsite last year, it looks a lot different with yellow grass, it was very green in September and we had three days of solid rain!! I think the campsite is owned by an English and American couple I think, we stayed in the serviced pitches and the view is brilliant, we also had a laugh at the Pizza vending machine, I believe they’re looking at machines that vend cheese as well. We got back from Vendee a couple of weeks ago and am already missing the weather and scenery, we are looking at two weeks in Spain in the caravan next year. Hope you’re having a great time 👍
Good to see you made it Martin and good plan going from Poole and missing all the Dover hassle. Agree with the “buy it cos u need it” comments - must be a lot of Cadacs and pizza ovens kicking around garages and sheds . Enjoyed the vlog and look forward to continuation. H 👍🏻
Hi Howard, Good to be back over here, but only here due to booking before Covid, I could have stayed in the UK. I’ve been thinking a lot about the ‘buy it cos u need it’ or think you do and never use it! I sense a vlog coming. Take care, Martin
@@TheCaravanNut good idea Martin , but how many blokes are going to admit to impulse purchases?. Or even VLOG influenced useless buys 🤣! I’ve probably got stuff we bought in the time between buying our first van and picking it up - the “We’re going to need ….” period . At least we’re glad we bought the same canopy as you and feel the full awning will be making its way onto Gumtree some time soon ! You could run a survey /poll for people to list stuff they thought would be great idea then consigned them to the garage/shed/spare bedroom etc. example:- Those ( well known company) fork /spoon/25 in 1 eating implements….. I mean ..I’ve made it from high chair to pension using a knife and fork so…..
It’s not cheap! Obviously fuel getting to the port and ferry can cost a bit. So far we’ve spent £160 on fuel, ferry was £700ish, sites 1k then there’s food and all the other stuff on top. You can do it much cheaper buy choosing smaller sites. Would we do it again? Probably not to be fair. Cheers
It’s 36 years ago since I did French at school, however Angela still remembers a lot of it from her school days…private education for you!🤣 I’m still waiting for my rain 🌧
Is a towing cover that ridiculous bit of fabric that people put over the front of the caravan? Is there supposed to be any point to it or is it simply a fashion item?
Very nice vlog Martin enjoy your hols Till your next vlog…
Thanks for watching, hopefully vlogs will be more often now I have more time!
Very nice have a great holiday.
Thanks, will try our best!

Thanks for taking the time to watch, makes it worth while doing the vlogs. We are having a great holiday, thanks

Thanks, we all need some down time now and again! 😊

Hi Trev & Sue, it’s great to be away again and relaxing in the van. There are some great places to visit over here. Thanks for watching, Martin
Great vlog Martin, some lovely places. Hope you have a great time. See you soon Andy 👍
Great place to explore Andy but doesn’t beat watching aircraft at DC! 🤣

Lots to research when coming over here, we book our ferry through the club but book our sites direct as it’s cheaper. We also go fully serviced!
Great to see you made it after all this time. Absolutely love this part of France have a great holiday and thanks for bringing us with you 🇫🇷😎
Thanks for taking the time to watch. 😊
Great video Martin
Cheers John 😊

Very nice Martin,

What great buildings in that town.
Yes definitely some history there.
😆 love your honesty about the tow cover Martin 😆 great ferry crossing. Wow that view amazing. Have a great time Paul and Sarah

Love France. Made me want to take van across once more . Ferry didn’t look very busy.
Ferry wasn’t too busy, I think a lot of people are booking cabins which makes it look quieter.
We will get there sometime mate
Looks lovely
Enjoy 👍
We will have to plan a trip together mate, if we still have a caravan!
Hi Martin looks like your having great time. Must try France again. Found the last time I went not menny of the locals speak English bit ignorant really 😉 . Enjoy
French people speaking French, ridiculous! 🤔
I can only see one ignorant person here. Why would you expect anybody to speak English when you’re abroad?
it looks gorgeous 😍 hope the weather stays nice for you. love to the Nuts from the Addys 👍
Hi Deb, weathers looking good, getting better as the week goes on.
Hope you are managing to get plenty time up at the van. See ya soon x
I’ve always been a little anxious about a ferry crossing, but now I think I might give it a go! Cheers Martin 👍
It can be quite daunting at first but if you follow the caravan in front you can’t go wrong! Cheers

That’s the site Paul, really nice site with good facilities.
Spain will be good, not sure about the sites down there though.
Thanks for watching

What time did you get to the port Martin 🙏🙏
We got there about 5pm, fairly quiet at night but start loading early.
Thank you for all your help today- so kind of you to help us out.
No problem Maria, will hopefully catch you again before you leave. Hope Charles is up and about soon.
You forgot to put the campsite name down..but is it Camping Sous Les Étoiles? and did you not go to see the tapestry ?
Yes that’s the site, think I put it in the the description 🤔 Didn’t see the tapestry, seemed a little expensive to get in!
Yes Camping Sous Les Étoiles Normandie. Which means Camping Under The Stars Normandy in English.

I feel the same as the previous comment but might give it a go next year. Can you give an approximate cost travelling from the north west.

Nice one. We should all do French lessons, well at least how to pronounce place names, I'm shocking too....

Personal preference, it keeps the front of the van clean and reduces possible stone chips on the front windows.
Great vlog Martin
Thanks
