    What's even amazing about this organization is that it's literally ran by so many stand up people. He didn't mention Porter because he's not an outfielder, hence the title of the video. Pitchers are much harder to predict given their propensity to get injured. If just one of Porter and the two Vandy guys become legit a legit starter the Rangers would take it. If two make it that would easily exceed the law of averages for pitchers. Certainly we all hope they all make it.

    @jayballauer8353 9 месяцев назад +5

    Good video! I wouldn't count on the young pitchers becoming anything (I do have hopes for Rocker, Leiter, and Porter). They do not need to. The Rangers current approach is to trade for pitching and fill in with free agents. This is how the current starting pitching staff is almost entirely constructed. They've learned to let other teams develop the pitching for them...something they've struggle with doing for decades. This is possible with a rich system of position players with no future spot on the big club. Likewise, despite their massive spending the past two off-seasons, they are still only 8th in payroll. There's more room to spend.

    • @hustleoutthebox
      @hustleoutthebox  9 месяцев назад

      i agree but can you imagine if they managed to learn how to develop pitching? Man that would be crazy!

    • @dundalis
      @dundalis 9 месяцев назад

      I agree this is the method they are going for, and it can work fairly well, but you really want to supplement it with one or two high end SP, because pretty much every single starter they have spent big money on are the wrong side of 30 and have terrible injury histories. They are already dealing with those issues with deGrom, Gray and Scherzer either being injured or returning from injury and not being quite healthy. Getting one or two young high end starters with a bit more durability (which is MUCH more difficult, if not impossible to acquire either in FA or in a trade), would solidify their rotation, and you don't have that huge injury risk hanging around.

Depends what they could get for him in a trade, but really he should be the 4th infielder, rather than in the mix for the outfield. im biased but the nats we got some stud outfielders in the farm, we got dylan crews and james wood both 3rd and 7th in the mlb who are both higher than Carter(who is a stud). Robert hassell has potential as well but has struggled hitting since moving up to AA. Elijah green was a super high pick hes rlly young an daylen lile i think his name is was out 2nd rd pick 2021 hes shot up our farm recently all outfielders.

      Those ratings are few months old. I don't think there will be many publications once the season is done, that won't definitely have Langford and Carter over Crews and Wood based on full season performance. Langford should be in contention for number 1 prospect.
