Why I Stopped Working Normal Jobs 😑

  • I explain why I stopped trying to live like a normal person. Basically in a nutshell it was because I was tired of being afraid. I think a lot of people live a life they don't necessarily want to live because there is something that they are afraid of.
    THANK YOU for the likes, subs, comments and just positive vibes in general. I love and appreciate every single one of you 🙂

    You lead an interesting life. Happiness comes from living how you truly want to live. It's better to be rich and unhappy than poor and unhappy, but money isn't the answer to many problems because the problem often isn't a money issue or one that money can solve.
    I'm 55, divorced, no kids, rent a one-bedroom and seven years ago dropped out of the corporate world for lower-paying fun jobs alongside folks 20 - 30 years younger than I. Some look down on me but that's their problem. I like watching videos about alternative lifestyles because I can relate to doing it differently.

      Now that I’m in my late 30s I’m at that age where u start to realize just how fast life goes by. Every year seems to go by faster now . 55 seems older but it’s really not, one day you’re 25 the next you’re 55 and look back on life wondering where did the time go. At 38 myself it honestly only feels like 4-5 yrs ago I was 21 lol, and you think where young some sort of wisdom comes with age which to an extent is true but I’m pretty much the same guy at 38 I was at 21 lol. Life goes by fast, looking ahead when you’re younger and like 20 u think u have all the time in the universe but it’s just an illusion, life really is short and the time goes by fast. I really can’t believe I’m a couple years from 40.

    I work at olive garden and ive had these thoughts alot but yesterday i went to take the trash out, it was beautiful outside and I felt a STRONG sense of, really Im in here working, losing 8 sometimes 16 hours a day for a tiny paycheck when just outside shits happening and things are beautiful and so many places to explore and so many areas call for help. Like what the fuck are we doing? All of us? Why do I slave for olivegarden to give me a paycheck? Even if I could go higher In the ranks, I have no desire. I too will get there eventually, I just have yet to figure out how and develop the proper grit or get the proper inspiration. Im beyond exausted listening to everyone who thinks this is the only way to live. All I have to do is stepoutside any day at work and know it's wrong, no one needs to tell me. No one grows up to want to be a high level manager at Walmart, a district bank manager, or a quality control exec. These are usually jobs/careers that you stumble on by chance. They may pay lots of money so that you can live in a very nice house and drive nice cars but that's all it is. That's NOT what we're put on earth to do.

    Ive been feeling like shit these last few months. Ive been working my job, but Ive been unsatisfied and unmotivated. Ive seen therapists, been perscribed pills, bought "remedies" from online, searching for the piece to the puzzle thats going to get me right, and none of it works. This right here though, man, this really helped put everything into perspective, and I feel like shit will get a lot better soon. Also, Ive been wanting to quit my job for a while to pursue my dream, but everyone around me tells me its crazy and not to do it, but I need to go with my heart, and I'll probably be doing that soon as well.

    It's kind of sad that our society has to diminish to the point of homelessness being a viable solution that we are such slaves in this world that homelessness seems like a way to prosper obviously it has attracted enough people for you to make a good side hustle or primary hustle however you want to look at it it's captivated me enough to watch your videos on the regular you're an interesting dude I was where you were at 15 years ago I had been fired from my job after turning myself inside out for them in the corporate finance world and I said God damn it I'll die trying or I will make something as an artist or self-employed or something didn't really know what I was going to do but fifteen years later I own my own woodworking business I have sawmills and it all started with me chainsaw carving a $400 investment and sculpting scrap wood and selling it at any little place I could got me to the point where now I'm supporting a wife and three kids however be careful when you turn that side hustle creative endeavor into something that is a business 15 years later you might find yourself in my position in watching gypsy Joey and wishing I didn't have any major responsibilities because anytime you have success it becomes another shackle at 42 saying damn that's all I could have done so I get your point when you say that you've done exactly what you had to do wherever God put you cuz I'm in that same place and I understand just be careful when you start making money again that you don't become shackled in a new way I'm at a point now where I'm looking at becoming a tattoo artist to escape the shackles of success that I've created the only challenges I have kids that are in elementary school and Junior high that I have to continue to support for at least another eight years

    It looks like you have a curtain to slide shut to use for privacy , I used to have that but then I removed it and instead I got some cardboard from work and cut it to size to fit in my windows as window covers , one side of the card board I painted gloss black so it just looks like my windows are tinted.
    I leave all the back Windows covered and then when I pull into my parking spot I only have to install 2 side window covers and then I install a windshield screen that is black on one side and shiney silver on the other , I keep the black side out and my car just looks like it's all tinted windows , worked out good.
    Also cut small notches in the cardboard so I can use my fingers to remove the covers when needed

    While I appreciate everything you have to say, I think it is a slippery slope when you're talking to the masses about opinions when it comes to mental health.
    People who are stable enough to understand what you're saying get it, but there are a whole lot of people suffering with their mental health who are going to hear what you're saying and think that that is what they need to do.
    And truly sick people who stop their meds for these reasons, are super dangerous.

    • @rrdutch4111
      @rrdutch4111 Год назад +3

      I’m honestly not trying to generalize, but I believe that’s the crux of what he’s speaking on. The society you speak of has millions of people in prison, thousands commit suicide every year, and most need to be medicated, insured, and in debt just to barely survive. The crimes and evils are countless and continue to grow, despite restrictions and regulation. This is a society where a majority of families and relationships fail, and a growing number are isolated. This is a failing society; modern society is the cause of mental health issues, and thus can not cure them. I’m sure you mean well, but the answer isn’t more institutional control, indoctrination, censorship, or forced medical treatment. History shows these governments collapse with a bang or a whimper. Sovereignty, love and healing are risks; or the safety of ignorance to the inevitable.

    Sounds like going out on the weekends and getting wasted was your problem. Working for an industry or a company you like that pays great and gives you lots of bonuses and vacation isn't so bad. Especially when you're not getting bombed every weekend.
    Get off the drugs and life gets a lot easier.
    Having healthcare is a bonus too.
    I also recommend to people to not have kids. They cost a fortune in time and money. Not worth it.

    • @joeythegypsy
      @joeythegypsy  Год назад +8

      So you think i would have been happier sitting in the apartment on the weekends while everyone i like being around was out partying? I don't think that would have solved it. My main issue was that I felt like I was wasting a lot of talent God gave me because I was too focused on paying bills. But everyone is different. What works for me won't work for others and what works for them won't work for me.

      @@jamesf4405 I don't have children. I'm strong enough to take care of myself. I don't want to burden anyone with the curse of existence. I won't force someone to work and struggle their whole life just to make kids of their own, so 'they' won't be lonely when 'they' get old. It's unethical. life for most on this planet suffers greatly in horrible misery. Do you have any idea how much pain the human body can suffer? I've suffered it. Were all inside organic torture chambers. I won't bring a child into this hell.
      Impregnating a woman is also a gamble most men shouldn't take. I learned that from my father. I gave out outstanding advice. People should learn to take care of themselves and not rely on others.
