The phantom squadron (the red tail markings) were stationed in a now defunct airbase. At the decommission that squadron was also decommissioned. Now that base is owned by Koenigsegg and why that company uses the phantom emblem as their logo. The owner has said that if they ever open another factory, then only those cars built at the airbase factory will carry the emblem. It's their way of keeping the phantoms flying. Just a kittle fun tidbit.
This aircraft from a kid together with the F4 Phantom later have and always will be my favourites. And even with the fantastic "ageing fighter" look you have given this kit, it's still beautiful. A masterful build sir.
Watching this was the best 45 minutes of my day! The shots outside were superb. She looked like she was ready to launch! Another outstanding build, brother....thank you for sharing it! Semper Fi
Thanks! as a matter of fact this one has some errors... i lost the very tip of one wing and only found it on the floor at the end and had to paint it after... im also making a tutorial on using masks... this was the first time i used liquid mask on a full covering mode and didn t liked that... thanks! :)
Hi Alex. Another stella build. Brave person for trying that stippling effect with the sponge and the hand brush. Not one I care to use in fear of going over board with it and ruining the whole project. Very brave! Keep up the good work my friend!
Beautiful work! I love the weathering. The Swedish must utilize them to their full potential and beat them up doing so because every photo, static museum display and video I have seen shows the aircrafts looking their age.
+Louis Matarazzo (Filmman586) Hi there Louie! A few mistakes but thats exactly why were not pro s and living of it!:) my regards to your family and to you my friend!
Fantastic video of a beautiful beautiful build! You really did her justice! Used to get up and close to these beautiful jets as a kid, living in Sweden, unfortunately....the airbase in my old hometown is no longer used by the airforce.... Will get the D version, to do one which was based at my fighter back in the day....
And that is how you build a beautiful BEAUTIFUL Saab J35 Draken... 'nuff said!!! :) :) :) :) Great to see the build from beginning 'til end, (I sat through the whole video and enjoyed every second of it). The cockpit is a piece of art, as is the whole model, with that excellent fading and weathering!! :) Great tribute to a great aircraft, and to the former Swedish Air Force Wing F10!! :) Just one question, why is the text below the video in FINNISH? ;)
+Rob BasicModelling shit!! Wrong language! ;) I wrote on google Draken J35 SWEDISH Language! Damn google!!:) i will correct that! Thanks and im glad you enjoied it!
The painting is great, no doubt about it. But there are a couple of sad mistakes. First, those missile mountings at the front should not be present on a J35F1 - that is a J35J thing (for Sidewinders or drop tanks usually). Second, the metallic leading edge on the wings is of an even width, not as on your model following that panel line on the model.
+Tobias Björkman Thanks... i asked a swedish citizen and modeler he has here a channel (basicModeling) nothing basic about him hes terrific! as soon as i finished it i asked his opinion and he told me the same but he has the same kit and lived near an old swedish air base and has the exact same kit and told me that the instructions are wrong... i wish i could aked him earlier... less work painting and gluing pieces:) Thanks
awsome video, but i think some of the music has copyright. which youtube does not take lightly, they might even terminate your account for it. Make sure to look for uncopyrigthed music, because you have a great channel :)
Awesome build, you definetley get my approval! :D You got the colours spot on, it's just amazing. Only one thing though, the very tips of the air intakes are in black on the Draken's. The instructions look awesome too, way better than Hasegawa's where you have like everything in four pages or something. This kit is absolutley wonderful, and i'm definetley gonna get it myself and build in the future! :) The only downside on this kit in my opinion is that there are no bars in the front glass like on the real thing, but that's the only thing. It's easy and fun to build, good details, the seat looks OK and the decals are good, plus all versions are avaleble. The problem for me is that i want to build so many diffrent individuals in diffrent paint schemes and so on. Keep up the good work! :)
+Scandinavian Modellers Thanks! One of the "mistakes i had on this kit is exactly the tip of the air intakes... i wias going to paint it black on the tip but i was so exited with the build that i totally forgot! Thanks! :)
..and I told him the air intakes were glassfibre and not really painted.. the poor man will no doubt be confused by all this conflicting info.. ;) But yes, I think you're right.. as far as the tips go! :)
Hello Daniel this build has some years now and to be honest if it s in the video its good but if it isn t i can t remember... I think i used Tamiya blue but i am not sure
Good build. Far too heavy handed on the weathering and chipping. These planes never saw action and there were kept very well ( Swedish care you know). My impression, for what is worth...
Aaaaaarrrgghhhh... I want to build my kit now... but I can't!! I need to finish off another couple of started builds first as I have no space left on the shelf of doom for more half finished models. Gaaaahaaaarrgghh.. splutter.. fut.. It's all YOUR fault! :) Still, I am finishing off another Airfix Draken that I started ages ago, it will be with the same pattern as the yellow squares, but with RED squares instead.. splutter.. fut.. gaaaahaaarrghhh.. hic.. thud..
+Rob BasicModelling I judt love the Airfix one... if i find one i will buy it! It was my first (you remember right?) And it will not be my last! Its the old Airfix kit i like tge most!

This has been an All Time Favorite Aircraft since I was a kid!
Nice build🤗

Thank you 🙂👍
THANK YOU for weathering the decals!!! I feel that they are so often over looked or avoided when weathering an aircraft
Wow!!! This is one of the best plane-kits I have ever seen👍👍👍
+Dunhill 2005 your too kind mate... it has some mistakes but it was a lot of fun... thanks for your kind words!

Can't you just really mess one up to make us feel better? Great weathering on this one! Nice looking kit. Nice fitting of the wings particularly!
Thanks! as a matter of fact this one has some errors... i lost the very tip of one wing and only found it on the floor at the end and had to paint it after... im also making a tutorial on using masks... this was the first time i used liquid mask on a full covering mode and didn t liked that... thanks! :)
O resultado final é fantástico!! Continuas com uma precisão incrível nessas mãos!! Abraço amigo!!
hey companheiro!! então essa vida? e que tal a vida na "twilight zone"? :) grande abraço companheiro... falta-me o camera man pah! :)

What a great job Alex. This has convinced me to buy this kit hopefully it turns out half as good as yours.
Really nice Alex!
Thanks!
another masterpiece
+Benny Gilardi A few mistakes on this one my friend but even so a ton of fun! :)
+AlexModeling mistakes? I didn't see em. and wouldn't point them out if I did, it's your build. We are our own worst critic. I think she looks perfect
+Benny Gilardi Thanks Benny!
Beautiful work! I love the weathering. The Swedish must utilize them to their full potential and beat them up doing so because every photo, static museum display and video I have seen shows the aircrafts looking their age.
yes they were pretty beaten up!:)
Superb work my friend!

AlexModeling Every second!! :) And I had a feeling you had intended for the language to be Swedish, as it wasn't Portugese or English.. :D
+Rob BasicModelling yes that was my intention... if i only knew a vit of swedish i would knew i was making it wrong!:)

It has happend to me a lot of times.
..and I told him the air intakes were glassfibre and not really painted.. the poor man will no doubt be confused by all this conflicting info.. ;) But yes, I think you're right.. as far as the tips go! :)
In my reference book i've seen chromatic yellow chips on the intakes, and i did some on mine.
Scandinavian Modellers Yes, that would probably be the glassfibre showing through..
do more video's with full build in one video
Está 5 estrelas companheiro :)
+Da Costa Obrigado Costa! Abraço
how did the decals go down,ok or not my last eduard kit i built were to thin and didnt work to good! BTW i like your weathering awsome!!!!
Muito bom trabalho!!!

None what so ever... fantastic fit! :)
Good build mate. Can i know which specific blue and which brand you're using for the sea blue here?
Hello Daniel this build has some years now and to be honest if it s in the video its good but if it isn t i can t remember... I think i used Tamiya blue but i am not sure

Please do tell me with what do you rub off the Tamiya Panel Line Accent Color ??
+Kairasp Daruwala Whyte spirit!
You mean White Spirit ?
Kairasp Daruwala yes
+Kairasp Daruwala yes. But be carefull... always protect the paint job first with clear varnish before washes
Good build. Far too heavy handed on the weathering and chipping. These planes never saw action and there were kept very well ( Swedish care you know). My impression, for what is worth...

SAAB made great cars too. I beat a 911S in a street race in a Sonnet lll.
Forgive me, but it is not "moisted". You should say, "moistened". 😀
Ops... sorry! :) thanks for correcting me
I just love go grumpy ur face is!😅 13:56

The air intakes are not metal though they are brown when unpainted and made of some fibrous material
Not exact a DRAKEN but good anyway
Horrible "orange peel" finish!
