Trivia....I produced and played all the instruments on this "Japanese World" song for Siegfried and Roy’s Origami Box piece of their show. That's me shouting the quasi-Japanese intro, "Ichiban....Rock and roll!!!!" Trivia: the lead vocal is sung by the same guy (Jeffrey Pescetto) who sang the "Ducktales" theme, which I had also arranged. This song was originally part of a musical theater production called "Butterfly", written by film/TV composer Craig Safan and songwriter Mark Mueller (Crush, I Am Blessed, Ducktales, Chip and Dales Rescue Rangers). S&R heard the demo of the song somehow and loved it for their show. I was given the task of re-recording the song with full production and extra background vocals (Debbie Davis and Shelby Flint)....... It was performed hundreds of times in Las Vegas, etc.
Amazing information. I have been searching for more background info on this song since I was a young kid! Do you still have access to the original demo?
@@lightspeed417 Bro that's fucking awesome. I've had their DVDs since I was like 8 years old and their origami trick was always one that stood out to me, and the music is definitely part of what makes it. Hell, I still bump this song when I need to go back to the good ole days, and it only gets better with time. You got yourself a new subscriber bubba 🎹🎶
Thank you thank you thank you for this! I've searched in vain for years to find this! Back in the 90s we travelled from the UK to Las Vegas ten or eleven times and three times we saw Siegfried and Roy's amazing and unforgettable shows at The Mirage.
This theme is featured in the "Origami" performance, it was inspired by a trip to Japan, both Siegfried and Roy made in 1989 and it also was featured in their 1995 German album "Dreams & Illusions." Here's the performance: ruclips.net/video/iV799jq6_WQ/видео.html Note: This photo from that show was taken before Roy was badly injured by the tiger in 2003.
The best duo ever • Rest high in the clouds Siegfried & Roy 💖

@@MatFranco Yes, somewhere, but I copied the demo almost verbatim, except for the opening voice intro, which was Craig.
