I have to say that my friend is autistic and therefore not easy to get excited about or to get involved with, but she was "on board" with them relatively quickly. And what you quickly overlook with all the silliness is the fact that these two are actually really good magicians, because they have some really, really good illusions in their program. But I actually found that to be rather secondary. If I want to see spectacular illusions I watch David Copperfield! But these two use the simplest means to put smiles on faces and arouse enthusiasm in you if you get involved. Yes, for a short time they just make you happy and that is true magic in times like this ❤️
As someone growing up watching a bunch of telemundo with my Abuela as a kid. It makes sense that Sofia gets this kind of comedy magic act. I’m Latin America it’s all about the really goofy so obvious humor. It’s funny because it’s so ridiculous. I love it.
What makes this so great is that as a viewer you can always relate to imperfection. They never lose touch by being mystic or perfect in a distant way. Still, they surprise. And this combination makes it so entertaining.
Even funnier, he's clearly STILL wearing the banana costume under the strawberry, and the tunnel clearly was constructed around the strawberry costume. But it makes it even funnier!
The trick is - I presume - that no matter which number/card is chosen, it will always be switched into a card that says 'strawberry'. The 'banana' backside is somehow removed/disposed of, probably when Joy turns his back to the audience for a moment while he's checking on how Siegfried is doing. :)

the genius of their act is hidden behind their obvious try to make it look like trash and that's really incredible. they act like a very easy comedy sketch and hide several astounding tricks in there. the strawberry banana trick was the icing. but also that you never saw Siegfried flip under the golden blanket
It'll be a while before they are as good as "Men in coats"- the only new thing I saw was the banana/ strawberry prediction effect which was a nice routine. Still., visual gags are crowd pleasers. I did enjoy the throw away trick of the cane from mouth as one of them was eating a strawberry.
The magic is in the humor. We all know what's happening....but it's the making fun of magic that brings it out. Simon has never been heavily in touch with humor.
As we say in Germany: "Wie geil ist das denn?" Siegfried and Joy really bring joy. Not sure why Simon reacted like that. Is he suppose to be this overly stricked guy on the show?

In a way, Simon is right. It's stupid. It's a really stupid act. But it's intentionally stupid, and that makes it HALARIOUS.
They did an actual trick when strawberry sign was to be found at the number chosen by Simon
