I own 10 acoustic guitars, including 3- Martins, a Gibson, a brand new Eastman (I just ordered from Music Villa) and two Breedloves. My favorite of all is my 6 year old Breedlove Oregon Concert series. All solid myrtle wood. So clear, so full sounding, such fantastic looks, so easy to play. I love what they have achieved. Thank you for this informative. PS. The concertina body is very nice. I sold my Pursuit exotic and my organic concertina because the nut width was a little tight for me. I hope a 1-3/4 is available at some point, like my USA model is. Thank you again. Great video
I have owned 3 Breedlove guitars. My USA Pro is my absolute favorite guitar I have ever played. Feels great, sounds amazing and nothing smells better on the planet than the rosewood smell coming out of that sound hole!

Impressive and lovely guitars. If I’ve got it right, Myrtlewood is native to SW Oregon and NW California. So how can a company send wood to their contracted builder in China, get the finished product back to to US and say they are environmentally friendly? Also how is that more profitable than building the guitar in Bend where the wood is grown? No offense, just don’t get it.
Just purchased a Breedlove Legacy Dreadnought which should arrive in a few days. I've owned a few Breedloves in the past and like what I'm hearing here.

Pinless bridge has downsides also, like when you need to just put a capo and release the strings out of the way to work inside the soundhole...or when you want to shave it down in time, to avoid a neck reset, it's not as much wood left there in back to shave it as you have usually with the pin bridge.
Thumbs up ! I've heard pluses and minuses to pinless bridges. It does relocate the stress on the bridge, but you don't have a bridge plate under the top ( more top response?) . Brazil is still cutting rain forest in the Amazon to accommodate more soy bean crops for China. That resulted from the trade war we were supposed to easily win.Bad news for the planet overall. I believe there is a fledgling economic initiative underway from other countries to help protect their rain forest from further damage. I can't figure out why this country can't use more steel and aluminum for building shells. I know there is a heat conduction issue but that can be mitigated.
They make beautiful guitars. I've played them and wanted to love them because they can be so pretty but I just never warmed up to the sound. That's me though. An unrepentant Martin fan. They are available in our local store which is more than can be said for some makers including Martin and a guitar in hand is worth two you can't get I guess. Their guy shouldn't be bashing foreign guitars in the same breath he promotes his foreign made guitar. That was sort of tacky. Other companies make the same claims about their foreign guitars being the exception and we need to get over that. Unless you are talking custom shop grade you are going to get a foreign made guitar made in a factory just like they would set up here if labor were cheap. There are great Chinese, Japanese and Mexican made music machines.
Every builder claims they have no impact on the Forrests. What a load of BS. Prove it by using richlite and more laminates. I don't have an issue with people harvested wood but let's be honest. With million of guitars being built from spruce, ebony, mahogany, rose wood. Every tree cut has an impact, just be honest about it. Don't use Brazilian, ever, no matter what the source. If you do use Brazilian rose wood be honest about the fact you are building with an endangered wood. A great musician deserves the best and I'm okay with that but be honest. If you are an average player do your part and use laminate and no ebony.
I dont think the pinless bridge system is better for tone? and why they do it? Im not sure how thats supposed to work. Its not "We" that have destroyed the planet, its imperialism and capitalist interest thats done that. Im glad Mr. Bedell talked a bit ab the economic incentives that smaller nations in the global south have to NOT follow environmental guidelines, bec they never have been allowed to benefit from their own economic/natural resources.

yes, that came across as a disconnect when wood is grown and harvested locally, then shipped to China, then back as a guitar. What are we missing?

My breedlove atlas/sm20 has that tone that i like but its not loud it has a big body but i wonder why.
